Pod Trackers

I have two pods that I paid over $100 For which are now obsolete because their cell service dropped their 2G. Now I have two useless pods and had to pay to return the unused third one I had. Pod Trackers won't do a thing for me, they're giving me the run around hoping I'll go away. Insure will go away, to one of their competitor's products.

Failed from the start: I can't set my Home Location. The map appears to use Google maps, but won't find / return my address. (I have a standard street address, there should be no problem.) Either this product works... or it doesn't. So far, it doesn't.

Podtracker is slow, inaccurate and constantly breaks. Support for podtracker is terrible. Dont waste your money.

I have the newly released Pod 3 and it's great! Location is nearly instant and very accurate, even indoors the cell signal always connects without fail. Works hand in hand with this app. Since there are 4 layers of tracking methods, I know my dog will be easy to find should she turn up missing. Great peace of mind.

Dog tracking device used first time today. No issues works great, works best on dogs back attached to her harness pointing at the sky. Tried it under her neck on collar and it struggled to get a fix. Bluetooth works fine and showed me all details including speed 22 mph running speed ;-) great device ;-) buy one you wont regret it. NEW POD IS TERRIBLE, THIS IS OUR 2ND POD AND IT IS TERRIBLE. BATTERIES CRACKED, LOCATING TERRIBLE, WILL BE BUYING ONE FROM ELSWHERE I HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS POD NOW DONT WASTE UR MONEY

Pod seems a good idea at first but we’ve had our Pod 2 for 9 months now and it’s regularly given us a headache and caused frustration and worry. The software isn’t reliable and constantly gets bugs that mean we can’t track our cat, especially at the most important of times when she’s been away for hours longer than usual or seems to be stuck in once place and we can’t find her. Even when we know she’s close by there are times the app refuses to refresh or connect or load her history. We’ve reported problems several times to the useless support team only to be told either they’re aware of the issue and are working on improving the software so we’ll just have to wait, or that it’s our fault somehow with our router or wifi or setup when we know it’s not as it was working fine on other occasions. I’m afraid to say that when our contract is up I will be buying a different brand of tracker, and I wouldn’t recommend Pod to others. We just can’t have the constant scare of if our cat is missing, is it the tracker not working or is there an actual problem. After all, what’s the point of having a tracker if it doesn’t work when you actually need it to? Get your act in gear Pod.

When we first bought the product we had to return it due to a glitch in the pod. When we recieved our new Pod tracker we have had nothing but issues with the app not working, our dog being found in South Africa (we live in Australia) and the Pod Tracker continuously telling us the dog is out of the safe zone when he's sitting right next to us. If these issues were fixed and the app was managed better this product would be brilliant.

The old version was glitchy, but at least it worked sometimes, offering some peace of mind. The new version is absolutely terrible. It constantly tells me my dog is at home regardless of where she really is. It has never given me any other location , but just continues to tell me she's been safely located at home when she's not there. Furthermore, it has no status indicator, so when I try to refresh the location I can't tell if it's actually doing anything. The old version was frustrating, but at least it gave me the feeling it was doing something even if it didn't turn up a location. This version is infuriating.

Useless. Most of the time the app doesn't even load. Like right now when I launch the app it just remains on a white screen forever. I cannot believe how they can get away with charging people money for this. Terrible product.

I bought one today and can't use it due to not being able to even sign into the app. I can't comment on if the thing even works. No customer support either. I thought when buying this it would be good quality as it's expensive however if the app doesn't work then the product is useless. Don't waste your money.

I've had nothing but issues with the unit shutting off, showing my cat was 6 blocks away from where he really was (via gps) and now the app won't work or let me log in for a solid day....while my cat is who knows where. The worst is customer service who give the "try resetting it" advice nonstop. Get another brand especially if you use it to keep track of a pet that you love.

Doesn't work any more. When I bought it other than having to charge it more than expected (due to me using the geofence option) I was super satisfied. Since then I've had the same problems as others, freshly charged batteries showing as 0% charge in the app, localisation failing almost all the time, safe zone not working. Pod help desk do respond but after several resets I'm still here with an unreliable and therefore useless device. I gave 2 stars because when it worked it worked well.

This thing was way too expensive for the app to be awful.

Very pleased with the pods which on the whole work very well other than occasional WiFi or GPS problems outside of their control. They are very light and the cats have no problem with them. I have put them to the test and it took me to a couple of feet of the bush my cat was hiding in two roads away! Locates on demand as well as automatically doing so depending on which setting you choose. I change the batteries daily which suits my cats activities well. Would definately recommend.

Sometimes does not find position. Very Old app was ok but new versions unreliable. Based on current app I wouldn't buy again. For instance old app could be launched without internet or cell phone connection then you would select find pet and when it had a signal it would beep. Not the new one, in fact if it can't find your pet initially it just gives up without telling you. Shame.

I have worked with them for atleast 8 months and at first they were responsible but seem to have blown me off now. They try to help but they assume their product is perfect and it is a user problem. Original battery life was almost 24 hours with safe zone active. Unit was replaced when battery would not stay attached. New unit has been getting less then 18 hours with no modes active, they say the cell service must have changed when I got new unit. Now it shows 0 battery even after new battery installed

Since the update a fresh battery is showing 0% and "dead". Connects through wifi but the information does not update on the pod?

Longer term review. The battery life is not as advertised, and the communication is rather iffy. It will last a couple of hours if doing an adventure. I have had lots of trouble getting it to synch through bluetooth. It takes several tries. Since the last app update it hasn't worked at all. I initially recommended it to a friend, and they're having the same trouble I am. The system is packaged nicely, and the app is slick, but the hardware is not very reliable.

I've been using this for about two months, and accepting that GPS isn't perfect (or should that be purfect), both the Pod and associated app work very well. I have also been quite frankly amazed at the level of support from the team in Australia - if you are having an issue, they seem genuinely concerned to help you out. One word of advice though - make sure to use a high visibility collar - trying to find a black Pod on a black collar in dense undergrowth if it becomes detached from the cat is a mare

Works. Just need a few set ups.

The app promises a lot, and on first view you might think it has. However try using adventure mode, syncing data or even locating within an area with good WiFi and GPS range, and you'll soon start to see how unpredictable the app is in delivering these features. I have given this app 2 stars as it's so disappointing in delivering on key/core features, would be less but for the pod itself.

You say you've implemented a fix for sign in but since the update I have to sign in to the app every single time I open it. Which means it's not keeping an eye on my cat. The app is useless without this functionality. Please sort it out! The hardware is fantastic, shame the app lets the product down.

The unfortunate recurring theme with my experience was great idea and promotion but poor execution and overall poor experience. The app is simple enough but poor location signal reception often occurs. Don't expect it to work when you need it or expect the firm to back up their products. And be prepared for their customer service to tell you how great they are at service while you wonder why the defective product can't be replaced. I'm frustrated and done with this outfit.

Keeps track of my blind cat

Ive had the pod and app for about a month and am very pleased with both. The pod is light and my cat doesn't notice it at all. I change the battery once a day and that suits me. The accuracy of the "find pet" feature seems quite broad. It tells me roughly where she is but if she doesnt want to be find i cant see her. The safe zone feature is good and entertaining when she criss crosses backwards and forwards over it! The adventure recording feature is the best thing. 15mph top speed!

It works great if you just want to locate your cat for the day, but would not synch the adventures. Tried this with 2 different pod trackers and 4 different phones. Also the return process is a pain. You have to pay shipping and they want a picture of the item prior to shipping so they can confirm it's all there, but why. When they get a return they have a problem with reshipping the returned item to a new customer. How does that even happen?

I initially had many issues with the app not informing me when my dog left the safe zone. I am really pleased to say the Podtracker team resolved my issue- not only do I get told when my dog leaves the safe zone but regular updates on how far away he is

Love it. Great to see how far the technology has come over the last couple of years. Sure, it isn't perfect, but considering what it does and for what price, I think it is great. Some minor issues: -the time it takes to get a reading of the dog's position (although understandable given the small battery; the system has to conserve energy so it only gets a GPS lock when needed). -web interface is often behind on (adventure / activity) data - bluetooth sync is a bit spotty I'd love to webhooks or a REST API , or integration with IFTTT / Zapier to allow tinkering. Furthermore, a proper data export possibility is seriously needed. For the next version, adding a little speaker in the device would be great. That way, a person could train the dog to come home when hearing a sound (using positive reinforcement of course). All in all-> Great product guys !

There were a few hiccups early on, but I am very happy with my pod and the app as well. It gives me some comfort knowing I will be informed if my dog gets out and that I can track him wherever he goes.

It used to work like a charm, since last update I cannot sync anymore. Yes, I downloaded (even re-installed) the last version. I even contacted your support, and so far no solution. The Pod has even started to not accurately locating my cat anymore. It tells me he's at home when he is not there. I hope you can give me a solution soon.

The battery life is abysmal as is the virtual lack of support. Online tutorial and online support doesn't work, at least it doesn't in chrome. Only way to contact someone was by finding an email address in someone's comments. I've been waiting 3 days for a response. Hopefully someone will see this and have the courtesy to respond.

After a few nights of not knowing where she was we decided on the pod tracker for a little peace of mind. She was outside for about 3 hours when she came back without her collar. I thought, no biggie, we'll just track it and find it. No luck. The pod said it was in the house, or at least in the yard. Nope. Not in our house, or yard or six of our neighbor's yards either. Strap your cell phone on your cat instead, it'll be more accurate. And cheaper since you won't get a refund.

For the price... Well not worth it! The tracker is OK for the 'locate now'... But anything else.... Just gimmicks that don't work... Don't waste your cash. The apps 'adventure' does not work... I've synced 15 times and each time states 100%... I tried to click on it and does nothing. No stats show either and syncing keeps cutting out despite the device next to mine. Extremely disappointed. I do NOT recommend this product. Also the Google maps automatically goes into 3D mode... This is no good thing.

The pod is simple to set up, the battery only lasts 2 days but it comes with 2 so it's a quick easy swap. The app is simple and intuitive to use, love that you can choose to record your pets adventures. Gives me peace of mind after our kitty went missing for a week.

I bought this tracker when my cat returned very distressed after a 5 day absence which scared me too!! Now I can see that she rarely ventures very far from home anyway & as she hasn't left her 'safe zone' I haven't received any alerts. My only criticism is that the battery barely lasts 2 days before it runs out & needs changing. If I am away for the weekend I can't locate her because her battery has died. I always have one on charge ready which is just as well but I did expect better for the money.

The pod has been on my pet for around 9 months - location service works very well, and the app is geared for ease of use. As important as tracking capability and battery life, I recently had a minor hardware issue that required reaching out to customer service. They gave lightning-fast response and resolved the issue in a snap. Recommending to friends - pod trackers has a great product and great people!

Fantastic customer service who are keen to help you get the most out of your device. Ideal for dogs and other far roaming animals, they also offer peace of mind for cat owners like me.

I had some issues with the product initially partly due to my lack of understanding of how to run it and what to expect from the Pod given my location and partly due to a minor manufacturing defect in one of the two units I bought. The company has now shown me what they intend when they claim to want to take care of their customers. It's true. They really do. They have been available and on the phone with me to make sure I get the most out of the Pod. Defective unit replaced efficiently with no questions. I honestly feel bad for getting angry initially when I had my issues because of how kindly and professionally I was treated in resolving everything. Thanks Pod Trackers. And BTW the system works! Peace of mind!!
