Tried on several Android devices and the app simply will not push through to the record screen. It can detect the podo but the loading just goes on forever. It's quite disappointing because this is a great concept product. Hope a fix can be made soon or else the camera'll be nothing more than an expensive paperweight.

Gotten the podo before christmas as promised but the app doesn't work at all. I felt i purchased something that doesn't work. Very disappointed, wanted to use during Christmas but cannot work. Over promise and under deliver.

Wrote a long rant about this app when I first got my hands on Podo... it was piss poor at the time. It seems however that Podo development has improved significantly since my initial review. It still has its quirks but I can safely recommend this product now. Cheers Podo staff for putting up with my rant

it's still pretty new, so expect some malfunctions. just update when it's available. they're keen on fixing bugs. personally, I never really had any problems.

Can't connect to podo... The podo comes up in the search tool but then when I click on the device name nothing changes. Just won't connect. Bummer.

I have received this Podo around this year and I am one of your Kickstarter backers. I cant use with my phone at all. I use xiaomi redmi note 2. Now i seldom use with my ipad but never use outside since i wont bring ipad for outdoor activities.. Pls do something!!

App is well designed but on Nexus 5 the Podo cannot complete a connection. No connection, no photos or videos can be taken.

The app makes it easy for me to set up a time lapse. The audio sync feature with the phone is neat but transferring video takes too long I just connect it to the PC. Looking forward to updates :)

K70%
by K####:

Most of the negative reviews here seem outdated. The new updates bring lots of fixes and features and its good to know that the team is constantly on it. Any new product has bugs; looking forward to seeing what improvements are next.

K70%
by K####:

A nightmare to connect, can't take video, crashes and disconnects if you do get it connected, randomly disconnects after three second. An app this useless makes the podo pointless.

A70%
by A####:

Glad they finally added audio to video, though only works fully for 15s or less, or the audio is separated. Transfer is still buggy as hell, to the point where I always have to use USB to collect my photos. Overall my biggest gripe is how quickly the podo turns itself off! This should be a configurable option. Currently I'm setting my podo up somewhere for a timelapse, then by the time I'm at my phone its turned itself off again! Not nearly long enough. I couldn't recommend this to anyone in its current state. Also a begging letter to your kickstarter backers to rate you positively is desperate at best, dodgy at worst.

Need Location permission? It was working without Location permission before, now it required it. Mmm... hide your kids, hide your wife.

K70%

Verdict: won't connect with my Android phone, thus camera is unusable. Edit: 8/5/16 - Connects now but takes forever to load pic from podo to phone.

Got 2 of these cameras and they work fine for me. Each iteration of the app brings improvements and new features. Most users don't seem understand that slow transfer rates are down to the Bluetooth capabilities of their device and nothing to do with Podolabs. Nothing gets lost though. Hook up to a computer with the USB cable and transfer from there. Not perfect yet but definitely getting there! :-)

K70%
by K####:

I'm one of the Kickstarter backers. The app works intermittently - every 4 photos, the app will crash. My videos have no sound, and it has never successfully transferred to my phone before. Please help to fix :(

K70%
by K####:

New app is much improved. Still needs a way to retrieve photos or try again if transfer doesn't work. Right now photos are lost forever if transfer doesn't work on first try (which happens to often).

K70%
by K####:

Having to double-tap it after each photo is counter-intuitive given that the sticky pad is there to stick it in some hard to reach location. e.g. high up on the wall to catch a bigger area. Imagine pairing the podo, climbing up a ladder and sticking it in a high location, take a photo and you need to re-climb up the ladder just to double tap the podo in order to take another picture. Version 1.2 Updated and gave the new version a try. Still the same, pair, take a photo, by the time transfer is done, it disconnects and you'll need to re-pair. Autoconnect doesn't seem to be working. The podo is sitting beside my phone so connectivity is not an issue. Version 1.0 Pair a podo, take a picture, transfer, need to re-pair again. Good for one time shot since you need to physically double tap the podo to start pairing.

I stuck the podo to a wall at a party and was able to capture all 5 bands playing. got a great gif

K70%
by K####:

Edit: Took it out to give it a second chance and it was worse than the first. It would take a picture and not sync. At all. Tried multiple times before quitting. So disappointed. Where are the updates?!? **Sometimes it takes forever to get the podo to sync to my phone. It kinda takes the fun out of taking pictures when everyone is just standing around waiting...

1st, you have to be pretty close for it to be in range of your phone. (might as well take your own phone selfie!) 2nd, once at arm's length, you take a picture, it will take a few seconds to take it! (slow!) 3rd, to upload ti your phone, it really takes Forever!! (there are kid cameras that are definitely faster uploading pics!). I will let you draw your own conclusion if this camera is worth it! ......on a Note 4

As a kick-starter participant I received 2 Podo and we immediately enjoyed using them. It changes how we shoot and share media content, super easy, good quality even for a first version. We wish to congratulate the Podolabs team having worked super hard for many months to finally deliver a super good product, very innovative in many dimensions. So I encourage people to test it, adopt it and share it.

This application is absolutely dreadful ! I was thrilled to receive my Podo in the mail today but my excitement was quickly crushed. What they advertise and what you get is far apart. In their introduction videos they make this seem like no hassle at all, just stick and shoot, right? Nooooo... It's stick, take photo and wait 20 minutes while it uploads (IF it uploads). I expected a working product, and that is not what I received. Not sure if the camera is the problem or the application, but regardless, this is not what I paid for! Not a good start Podo, but there is always room for improvement.

Very poor Android app - constantly loses connectivity, transfer speeds are ridiculously slow. It appears as though the app's designer does not understand how Android Activities work, as very basic mistakes are evident throughout the Android experience. There is also an unreasonable lack of documentation and support resources - online, the manual appears to be simply a matrix of questions with rollover answers. How, for example, does one tell the Podo to do a timelapse and then sync when my phone is back in contact? There appears to be no way to successfully record a timelapse without keeping your phone open to the app for the duration of the timelapse (obviously, this makes your phone unavailable during that time, which is not desirable). The hardware is OK, but basically unusable with this app.

N70%
by N####:

Has trouble connecting. Once it does connect, cannot transfer timelapse photos back to phone without failing (and losing the photos). Please fix!, right now, just a paperweight.

I like the idea of the podo. It worked great through iOS when I paired it with my iPad (of course the app not being iPad ready makes it a bit goofy). But on my xperia z3 it's completely useless. The viewfinder barely works, and maybe updates once every 5 seconds. And it continually refuses to take the shot itself, and whenever it does take a shot, it takes three times as long as the iPad to transfer, and then will say that a photo has been loaded in the activity, but the photo doesn't appear in the library. Hopefully the android app will be updated soon so that the device is usable, otherwise I'll have to hand it off to one of my iPhone using friends. Before anyone asks, yes, I'm running Marshmellow, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and done all the standard troubleshooting. I've also made sure that any other bluetooth devices (my Pebble) is unpaired. It looks like an issue with bluetooth rather than anything else, but it's the only device I've had trouble with.

M70%
by M####:

The app has regular upload errors on both photos and videos, making use of the product frustrating and sometimes impossible. But when it works, it is great!

M70%
by M####:

So I got the Podo Lab delivered, I was very excited to open it. But when I downloaded the app, only 2.9 star rated. Now I know why the app was underrated. Podo lab is slow, transferring is slow, and the camera casting to my phone screen is slow. It always looses connection and can't take a perfect pictures. Waste of money and waste of time supporting this podo lab.

Q70%
by Q####:

When it works it's great but time lapse and videos don't save either to podo or transfer to phone... Connecting the camera can be inconsistent and magnet seems to be so low powered...need to sort these out.. Contacted support@podo no response yet....

Zero stars. I got as far as turning on the podo camera. The lights flash in a circular pattern (I think that means it's on lol). I also downloaded the app and tried to connect via Bluetooth 6 times and didn't get any results. Maybe I'll try tomorrow or another time. Right now - 100% regret the purchase. Wasn't worth the 1+ year delayed delivery.

M70%

Hasn't work since updated to marshmallow, pls get it working. Could connect, could take pictures, but all missing, not sure where they went even after transfer completed.

I70%
by I####:

The pictures come out decently for the most part but why do the 15 second videos take forever to transfer? And sometimes it takes forever to get the podo to sync to my phone. It kinda takes the fun out of taking pictures when everyone is just standing around waiting... Can't wait for the updates to fix the problems.

Can honestly say that I'm very disappointed in the app and podo picture quality is not very good and it takes an age to transfer to my phone
