About POCKET TUNE - Chromatic Tuner

POCKET TUNE is a highly accurate and intuitive chromatic tuner for every musician. Whether you play brass, woodwinds, strings, acoustic guitar, a Fender, or a Gibson, this chromatic tuner allows you to tune your musical instrument to the right pitch, at the same performance quality as a $50 Seiko or Korg tuner. In addition, this chromatic tuner can be used for pitch ear training, an important talent every musician should master.

With its high accuracy and clarity, this tuner is suitable for every musician, regardless if you play
• a fretted music instrument such as a ukulele or an acoustic, electric or bass guitar
• a fretless music instrument such as violin, cello or contrabass
• a brass or woodwind instrument such as clarinet, saxophone, trumpet or trombone

We have worked with 20+ professional musicians and music teachers who’ve performed in ensembles, big bands, and orchestras, to test and optimize the POCKET TUNE chromatic tuner app for over 30 different musical instruments, including all kinds of woodwind and brass instruments, acoustic and electric guitars from different manufacturers (e.g. Gibson, Fender, Shecter and ESP), in addition to all string instruments. Moreover, we compared the quality of this tuner app to conventional tuners, such as Seiko and Korg tuners.

FEATURES
• Tune your acoustic, electric or bass guitar to a pitch on the fly. Just play a tone and POCKET TUNE tells you which tone it is and whether or not it’s in perfect pitch.

• Improve your intonation with pitch ear training. Select a tone and practice your intonation. Our tuner shows you if you play in or out of tune with easy to grasp colors.

• Tune your strings (i.e. violin, cello or contrabass) without caring for the correct octave range. Use our tuner to select the target pitch you want to tune to and play it on your instrument. POCKET TUNE will show you if your pitch is too high (sharp) or too low (flat) on a cent scale.

• As a musician, it is important to train your ear. POCKET TUNE lets you play reference tones, just like a diapason, through your phone's speakers. Use this feature to improve your sense of hearing with ease and to practice tuning your instrument, such as an acoustic guitar or ukulele, by ear.

• Adjust the concert pitch with our tuner app. Are you playing a woodwind or brass instrument in a band or orchestra? POCKET TUNE allows you to adjust the default pitch to whatever frequency you need, regardless if it is 438Hz, 440Hz or 444Hz.

What are users saying about POCKET TUNE - Chromatic Tuner

D70%
by D####:

Tried to tune my B-flat clarinet but it often can't catch the notes. Unless there's no background noise. But I can tune with other tuning apps.

T70%
by T####:

The app responds too slowly to be of any use. Several seconds lag in frequency changes.

T70%
by T####:

Before accessing this app, you must consent to recording, after which the screen overlay of your device must be disabled. This is inferior engineering.

C70%
by C####:

It's super laggy for Android. Tunning is ok but it takes like a minute to get to the right note

S70%
by S####:

Great because the pay version lets you shift master tuning along the Hz spectrum for the A note enabling 432, 444 Hz tuning and etc which is how all music should be!

T70%
by T####:

It's good, may have some ads, and takes a little time to get the note you're playing, but other than that, it's ok!!!

T70%
by T####:

Took forever to find the right note after I've played it. Also doesn't show me the sharps.

H70%

Very practical! We all have our phones with us anyway, why carry a tuner around when you have this solution! Perfect for street musicians.

T70%
by T####:

I'm using a Nvidia shield tablet. I've tried tuning my violin, viola and mandolin. For the E string on the violin it was okay, and the A string on violin and viola the same, but for any lower notes it didn't work, and it didn't work at all for the mandolin! The G strings on all instruments are picked up as D.

T70%
by T####:

Full screen ads a major distraction. Has trouble identifying medium volume notes, even without background noise. It looks very nice and would be a delight to use if not for those other issues.

X70%
by X####:

This is the worst tuning app I have ever gotten.

T70%
by T####:

It is too limited and recomend NOT GETTING THIS APP

M70%
by M####:

It is really good, I play the trombone, trumpet, tuba, and clarinet and it works for all of them perfectly.

R70%
by R####:

I play the tuba, and I have a Samsung S5 which has a pretty good microphone, but even with my tuba blaring a C, it first says it's an F, which sounds TOTALLY different than a C, than it says it's a D, then finally a C. Takes so much time to finally tune, and it's meant for every instrement, get your priorities straight people!

F70%
by F####:

Tried to tune my B-flat clarinet but it often can't catch the notes. Unless there's no background noise. But I can tune with other tuning apps.

G70%
by G####:

Slow to identify notes, full screen ads. And worst of all, shaky on a reference tone compared to other tuners tested. Beautiful UI, but needs work. Tested on Nexus 6P.

R70%
by R####:

I play a C and says im playing E then to G ???? Or when i play a B then it goes to C :/

R70%
by R####:

Falls short on accuracy :(

R70%
by R####:

D, no A.. No ...F...maybe? This tuner is tone deaf.. Bite the bullet, buy a real tuner

R70%
by R####:

slow and almost every note was wrong

R70%
by R####:

Nice ui - bad tuner

C70%

I dont use it too often, but for what i need it its perfect. Keep up the good work!

R70%
by R####:

Best tuner for Android! Works for all my guitars. More precise than my 50 bug Korg tuner.

R70%
by R####:

This thing pops up ads even when you have it minimized. Unacceptable also changing a from 440 and static tune is disabled in free version. Don't download

R70%
by R####:

Really happy with the look, would have paid for the full version had it tuned well. The UI is absolutely spot on, but that doesn't count for anything if the app doesn't serve its purpose. (Samsung galaxy s6, guitar. Don't blame the poor functionality on the microphone, other tuning apps such as 'guitar tuna' work fine)

L70%
by L####:

This is the worst tuning app I have ever gotten.

R70%
by R####:

On my trumpet I play a G and it thinks I am playing a F or E flat

H70%

Bad ads...
