About The PocketLab

PocketLab is a wireless sensor for exploring the world and building science experiments. We built PocketLab for the curious explorers, educators, students, and makers to bring science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to life like never before.

Features
PocketLab connects with a single button to your smartphone or tablet and instantly streams measurement data that you can see and record. PocketLab measures acceleration, force, angular velocity, magnetic field, pressure, altitude, and temperature. Using our cloud software, you can easily analyze your data, create graphs, and integrate your data with other software. PocketLab has the same features as lab equipment that costs thousands of dollars but is low cost and intuitive to use.

Team
We are scientists, engineers, and teachers. We are passionate about getting science out of the lab and into the hands of students and enthusiasts.

Awards
PocketLab won the Yale University Education Leadership Conference Grand Prize Award, the Stanford University BASES Social Entrepreneurship Award, and the ProtoLabs Cool Idea! Award.

NOTE: The PocketLab app is designed to pair with a PocketLab sensor. Order your sensor at thepocketlab.com.

Received my Voyager today! Very excited to start experimenting! A few things I've noticed from my brief experience with the app today: Could you set it to record the screen without using the camera? The dynamic graphing adds a lot of excitement an Excel chart doesn't quite express. Also, the app uses the rear facing camera, could you allow it to be switched between front and back camera's? Last thing I've seen today is that the app crashed when I stopped the video recording. That's all I have for now, thanks for the awesome device!

One major issue, at least on my device, is the fact that the reading, whatever the number, goes off the screen, making it difficult to get an accurate reading in the moment. It'd be nice to be able to save the graph generated by the app, rather than having to input it into excel and graph it there. Still, great device, and good app!

I love it

I would give PocketLab five stars for the video feature alone! The app allows you to use the camera on your device to take video while the data from the PocketLab's different sensors stream over it in real time. PocketLab is really easy to use. You can switch between all the different sensors right in the app. Also, it's super durable. Can definitely withstand a rocket launch!

Great for maker labs and science exploration! The real-time data visualization is intuitive for students and teachers to use.

S70%
by S####:

More accurate and definitely easier to use than the older lab equipment in my physics class. I've used PocketLab for many labs (momentum, magnetic field of a solenoid, etc.) and it has been great for all of them. Looking forward to doing even more experiments!

Trying to use it in physics class, but only works on apple devices. It will connect, but not display any data, and even then there is immense lag in pressing buttons. Galaxy s6

Cannot get android app to connect at all. Chrome app is only slightly better.

Used this app in physics to collect data for our labs. Interesting and fun way to see what's going on in our model cars and trains. Definitely more convenient than our old labquest devices.

Needs some work. Responsiveness is somewhat slow. Having issues after pocketlab disconnects, can reconnect and select a new sensor but do not get any reading on the graph. Just got mine today and am looking forward to seeing some updates. All in all great job clif & team I will change my rating once the software is up to par.

Giving the app a 5 star rating right off the bat. I haven't done any experiments yet, just playing around with it. So far so good. Will update once I get a few experiments under my belt.
