Virtual Wallet by PNC for Android
Loved the app until they adopted Zelle to send money... I refuse to use that garbage app! Another thing the app is really slow now.
December update resolved PNC Purchase Payback issue. Still unable to access "Pay Bills - Payment Activity" page. PNC Purchase Payback still does not work on Version 6.1.0. App states "Rewards unavailable." Also, can not access Pay Bills - Payment Activity section. Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (SM-T710 running Android 7.0)
App is much improved from how it use to be. You can now use almost all tools that are available on the website in the app. The navigation is a little confusing sometimes though.
Since the last update the app is laggy and not up to date with current checking account information makes it harder to see what is actually in your bank account. Also the app used to be easy to enter checks you wrote now it cumbersome and time consuming.
I like this app. I like how they allow me to use the wishlist on my phone. Originally I could only manage my goals on my laptop. I only gave 4 stars because when I complete a goal and try to transfer it it shows an error message. I have to take the money out or delete the whole goal to transfer which makes it tedious.
The last update didnt fix the issues. Also the back button should exit the app after you log out and not freeze your screen.
Working great just wish the orange splash screen wasn't up so long.
Works great, except mobile deposit isn't working in Android 8.1. Please fix that. I could've used that today.

It's gotten slightly better since my initial review, but lacks basic UX expectations.
The first time I got the app was before the update that changed the entire look and I definitely liked the way it used to look and was also more convenient do to it loading faster along with being able to see all transactions and not just the last 5 days worth. Kinda sad on how much it got limited after it's so called update.
Half of the time when I try to login online banking is down for maintenance or the app just will not work. With the most recent update I lost the ability to pay on my car loan from PNC through the app - pretty much the main reason I even use this app and why I joined this bank. The app also regularly kicks me out for "inactivity" while I am actively using it.
App was decent before latest update. Now I get an error message to update my app. I click update and it takes me to the play store to update but u already have the latest version. Only way I can open the app now is to open it through the play. PNC has been trash since I switched from Chase considering switching back. Chase was 100000x times better
The latest update is terrible. It takes forever to launch, removed the ability to transfer from credit lines, and half the time I get an error trying to transfer funds between my accounts. Literally the only nice thing is logging in with fingerprint but it's pointless when the rest of it doesn't work half the time. NEEDS TO BE FIXED
I've been using virtual wallet for years and my experience has always been buggy. Sometimes the app opens and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes, the app wont let me log into my account. I wish that PNC would really take their app seriously because many people like me really to keep updated on finances and have a reliable app. Please have a more reliable app.
Negative 100 stars! Recent updates have removed any last remnants of usefulness from this app. IF you can get logged in, the hodge-podge of date is no longer available as information. No single screen in this hard-to-use app provides a single shred of useful information. Transactions are STILL missing.
This app was great. Now every time I open it to check my account, I get a pop up saying server access denied because my app is out of date. Continuing on to upgrade the app just brings me to the app in the play store with no option to upgrade. This app is now useless. Thanks.
I'm very disappointed with the update. I can't sign in. I have Android 4.4 which according to the app is compatible. I've even called PNC for help. No luck. Please fix. Update: the recent update allowed me to finally sign in to the app. Not bad so far. A little slow going from one tab to another. It's a little jumbled for such a small screen. I'll keep playing with it. I'm just glad to have my money bar back.
I thought when an app is updated and/or revamped, it was supposed to be improved afterwards. PNC has proved me wrong! The old Virtual Wallet app was superior in every way. This is a great example of creating a new problem, just to "fix" it. Better luck next time I suppose.
The new update is soooooooo slow. It's taking forever to load up the main screen and even switch between the different tabs is also slow. Also it logs me out for inactivity while I'm k the middle of using the app. Then again it takes forever to load up again. Ugh. The new features like fingerprint and savings engine look great but it's unbearably slow. I'd rather have less "cool" features and instead have a faster app that does my basic banking. Please fix it. I'm losing minutes of my life waiting for the app to load each thing I open.
This app has great features when you get into the application but all of the loading processes take forever and usually throw a flag saying that the service is down or unable to be reached. I would work on the flow of the application before the content inside. If there was an alternative I would use it.
I've had this app for years and loved it. After the last update, the developers changed all the graphics, I can't view the whole calender I have to click on each individual day to see how much is going out that day for bills scheduled and now there's a 2% fee for depositing a check! Ridiculous! I can't make it to a local branch to deposit my checks because I'm at work everyday from 7-5 and their 9-5 schedule doesn't work. I think it's time to switch banks to a company who cares about loyal customers.
The new update is terrible. I do not like the layout. When I open up the calendar, I would like to see more than 2 weeks at a time. I like to see a whole month at once. It is much easier to budget that way. It is not easy to just view quickly and you have to keep clicking through screens. I am very disappointed and no longer want to use the virtual wallet account.
This app was great until the last update. The UI changes were unnecessary and for the worse, the app is slower overall, and I tried depositing a check like ten times but I kept getting an error message that the image wasn't clear (even though it was perfectly clear, well-lit, and against highly contrasting surface). Reverting to the previous version would be wonderful.
Ooh, this is new. Pnc must be paying to delete bad reviews now! This is a garbage fire of an app. Want to access nearly anything and everything of my life info. And then it won't even recognize my password and id to get in.
This new update is slow to load, asks me every time if i want the "money bar preview" despite me answering this question EVERY time, and does not show the info at a glance like the old one did. I never liked Virtual Wallet (spend and reserve are reversed in my opinion), and now, even less.
I've had PNC for 10 years and this is the first time I've ever been dissatisfied. I haven't been able to access the app in more than a month. It says I need an upgrade. I click upgrade. It takes me to the app store where...no upgrade is available. How can you just COMPLETELY DISABLE A SERVICE for this long with no response. Honestly thinking about changing banks. This is complete garbage.
Since this is the only pnc VW app, I like it. Lately it prompts me to update, stating my app i out of date, takes me to this page where there arent any updates. It's annoying. Once im inside the app, its really useful and has a fun design. I like being able to pay bills on the go and transfer money at my convenience.
What did you do to this app??? The new version is atrocious. Month view is gone, amomg other things, and it looks like a HTML 5 app design. Bring back the old version!
The update is horrible! There's constantly an error and takes way too long to load the "quick view". the Virtual Wallet App looks down-graded and tacky. Better off just using the regular PNC mobile app or the website.
The WORST update. Refuses to let me log in and takes over a minute just to load the error to tell me that. I can't even deposit a check on my phone or check my balance unless I use my computer and go on the actual site and I have a Nexus 6p which is less than a year old phone. Looks like I'm going to be manually depositing my checks at the bank. Not the least bit convenient as it is supposed to be. If there was an option for zero stars it would have received that. I advise bringing back a similar version to the old one that loaded and worked correctly for the convenience to customers.
Absolute garbage in every way. Worst financial app I have ever used. Pinnacle of poor design. Strains my brain to look at any single page in this app. Get better designers.
I am very upset. Seems the latest update will not even let you close the window .... Hope pnc fixes this problem fast. Here we are again, And PNC Bank has done nothing about this pathetically slow app. When is enough?
This app was working just fine until they did an update. Now my finger scan won't work and I've tried deleting and downloading again and also turning the feature off and on multiple times. Please fix.
As of last update this app is unusable, it takes forever to load the login screen and when I'm in it locks up if I try to look at any information. I used to really enjoy it because I had more options and was faster than the regular PNC app.
The original virtual wallet app was simple, quick and user friendly. After the update and redesign it became horrible. The new app Crashes, slow loading, hard to navigate and not user friendly at all. I wish pnc would just go back to the old app design, at least it was reliable.
This new update seems to have broken mobile deposit. I have yet to be able to deposit a check and instead get a service unavailable error. I have to use the outdated PNC Mobile app to deposit checks... very disappointed
Great when you can access. When banking down you get stuck at an orange screen and doesn't notify there's a problem. So if you're like me you uninstalled and reinstalled 5 times because I thought app just messed up.
The update is ok but some annoyances exist. For one, scrolling and interacting apparently does not count as activity so I get signed out oftentimes even though I'm actually working on a budget in separate app and returning to this app to still transactions. Also if you minimize the app and then return to it later, you will see the 'signed out due to inactivity' notice, but it shows the personal information that may have been left on last page you visited.

The latest update (mid-2017) makes the app completely unusable. It cannot perform basic actions or navigate to virtually any other tab aside from "activity." I can't load anything on the app even while connected to blazing fast Wi-Fi on a new Pixel. Just an orange screen that times out, forcing to log in again. Not sure what the bug is, but a patch is seriously needed. I can't use the mobile payments section at all - and Zelle can only be activated/used on mobile devices.
