About Melbourne Pollen Count

The Melbourne Pollen Count App provides real-world pollen count data during the Melbourne grass pollen season (October 1 to December 31) as generated by the School of Botany at the University of Melbourne, Australia. It also provides a year round 7 days forecast of grass pollen levels in Melbourne. In addition, we send push notifications for high pollen forecast days and you can also help us help you by telling us how your hay fever symptoms are, which will help us better understand the relationship between the pollen count and how people feel.

I agree with other reviewer that the forecast is not reliable for the week. It's always changing. Also my symptons don't even match the count for the day. Today is very windy and it's logical that the pollen it's spreading harder on the air and their count it's low?? Sorry, I think you don't use the appropriate methods. Weatherzone is better for me and usually matches my symptons. Last week had a very bad day and Weatherzone showed an "extreme" day and you a "high" one. Sorry have to delete soon.

Would be useful if notifications were pushed out at the beginning of the day instead of the end of the day. Push notifications have also not been going into the app itself.

I find the app stops working a lot. Half loads then just hangs. Also is there a way to change your days survey? I might do it early arvo, then early evening get really different symptoms. Thanks.

Works fine but would be great to have a widget.

The view you have on here with the count for the day is not how it appears for me. Some of the information is covered by the ad banner.

Pollen season starts in October? Any of you researchers actually get hayfever? Mine has started in August the last 3 years running. Edit: Thanks for response. I react to Silver Birch, among a few introduced species, along with bluegrass. No reaction to any Australian natives. Fun, huh?

I have deleted & re-installed this app a min of 5 times and all I get is "unfortunately this app has stopped working"!! It worked perfectly fine last season!!!

Not sure if it's not been updated for a while but this app isn't working on my Nexus 6P

Installed a few hours ago but each time I attempt to open it I get a notification that it has stopped. Not much use if it's going to continue to do that..... So two reports and this review later and no response. Uninstalling.

Any chance it can start in September?

Super helpful, great to understand the various types of pollen and their fluctuating levels. Would be awesome to see more specific other pollen counts one day besides just grass. Love the app all the same! Please don't ever stop! :)

Always wrong. For the last week its always said low and my allergies have been really bad. Everyone I speak to also says its been really bad so this app is always wrong. * you NEED to start this earlier than October as today 23rd Sept the pollen count is extremely high. Would be nice to be notified but there is no working app for Melbourne. And to add to Kates review, wattle blooms from April to December. As im highly allergic to wattle i have to know where and when its blooming. So having it only from October is really stupid. Youve already missed half the year for us sufferers. Ive installed it to see how wrong you are in October. You miss half the year so im guessing your a joke and will be wrong in October too.

Is not working just says low all the time when pollen is high! Have they even taken into account that pollen season starts earlier and earlier every year because of global warming? Have they taken into account that wattle starts before spring! No. What ir says is different from Melbourne forecast weather app.

An excellent app. I've used this a couple of years now. Real data not predictions!! Could maybe use a couple of extra monitoring points to cover more regions. More users of this app are a must!

If you dread being out and about during spring, then this is definitely for you. Use it every morning before heading out. Love it!

Good app. Would like to know though what areas of Melbourne are the pollen counts ? I'm in the Rowville area.

This app has been marginally useful at best, but I'm uninstalling it after a recent bout of annoying push notifications such as various "did you know"s that I couldn't care less about.

Useful app especially if you have dogs or babies etc withallergies that can not expain what they are feeling.

Misleading and if u are serious do all pollens.

I love this app. It is pretty much spot on. Have been using it for a long time. I will give you five stars if the employment question in the survey includes people who don't work. I am on a pension and I can only tick "self employed" to make it seem real. Please fix it asap. Cheers.

I've used this app for the last few years, when I first started getting allergies, I found this app handy, now im more experienced and realised its useless! I feel like its always wrong! The days it says high im often okay, then the days that are low I cant leave the house!!

My symptoms only became a problem in the last couple of years. This app is great, but I would like to see some sort of notifications,eg, if the forecast goes to high. Good effort so far.
