What are users saying about 字典 Cantonese Dictionary

by Q####:

I'm illiterate in Chinese but I can communicate verbally. However my relatives love messaging me in Chinese, so having the function to read sentences out loud in Cantonese is fundamental for my needs. That being said, the dictionary on the side is great for me to learn the characters. Great translations and great recordings.

I know formal Cantonese and wanted to learn more slang but a few basic words are mispronounced and have the wrong tones. Examples include female/girl/woman & soup. Noticed loads but forgot exactly which ones. It's great that's this app is free & can be used offline but may teach incorrect things. Also would be great if we could select word to copy & paste.

The pronunciation for 'a' isn't there, application crashes during search, laggy and crashing all the time.. Please fix this, if this app is bug free i will buy this to support you

Great app, but very frustrating that I can't save characters or copy them to paste elsewhere such as into flashcards. Borderline useless for me without this.

This is a good solo, especially since there really aren't any other dictionaries on the market. The only thing that I wish this app would have are sentences that show context fit the words. With that it would be fantastic. Also is there a way to change the pingyam?

I love this app. I'm really grateful for its existence, but it crashes too much. There's too much room to improve in that case. Otherwise, I love it. However, I suggest that maker add a user database system so that we can improve the amount of Cantonese on the app. It's got a lot, but still limited. Also, it would be very useful if we could see similar English/Cantonese phrases to the one we're searching for. I understand this is a lot to ask for, but I would really appreciate it! :)

crashes all the time

T70%

This would be perfect if it didn't crash so much. I basically have to open the application each time I wanna search a word. But, on the plus side, it does that perfectly, which is a rare thing for Cantonese software dictionaries! Keep things up! (EDIT: In reply to the dev, clearing the data did appear to help things for a couple of searches, but it eventually crashed again about a minute into use when searching for "juy" in Jyutping (just to test). Also, it appears to crash after a while if you leave it open even without doing anything, so it might be time related)
