Pool Pal

We love this program! We just put in a new concrete pool with Ansel bright finish. We kept getting all different people telling us all different things but this little program kept or water crystal clear! If there could be anything changed /addedI I would like to have a salt generator included. So we could calculate using a salt generator to produce the chlorine.

It's not often that I run to the app store to review an app without the app itself harassing you about rating them. This app is incredible. Unbelievably easy to use, absolutely no bloatware nonsense, there aren't even ads! Been using it for a year now and have had a sparkling pool based on it's recommended amounts. I can't say enough good things about it.

Crashes every other use. Used to be better. Contacted developer last year and no change. I think I finally found the source of the problem: when exiting do not press "back" more than once, otherwise file *.pool will be size 0 and then app will not start anymore and you will lose your data.

The app is great for tracking levels and maintenance. I just wish you could modify the date of the log entry. I write things down manually and if I forget to transfer it into the app the day of then there is no way to mark the test/maintenance being done on an earlier day.

The BEST app I have on my phone....Hands down. No BS, no ads and it works each and every time. I couldn't take care of my pool without it. I use it every day. Five stars!

Love this app. I had to keep up with the pool while the hubs was out of town and I have no clue how to keep the pool up but with this app and a little bit training I was good to go. Love how it tells you exactly what you need to add. Definitely would recommend to any pool owner.

Brilliant. Clear layout (not gaudy), simple set up, tracks (nearly) everything, and the calculations are spot-on. Can't live without it.

Been looking for a great way to monitor my pool. This app does a great job. Would love to see some additional options like graphs, etc.

Very useful app. It includes calculations based on Trouble Free Pool web site, which has been super useful in reducing cost and maximizing use of pool. Prior to this I would just add chlorine once a week and guess on amounts. With this, I test Chlorine and Acid levels daily or every other day, then put results in app. Then I use app's calculations to bring levels to where they need to be. Each week or every other week, I do a full test of water and balance as needed (using TF-100 test kit). This app makes it easy, and with accurate amounts along with Trouble Free Pool method, reduces cost and waste.

I use it to keep track of multiple pools and Hot tubs year round. It stores readings for each site and includes an area to make reminders for future visits and allows me to directly forward my readings /recommendations to clients.

Tried a couple of apps before settling on this one. Once all the settings are done it's so simple to use. My pool is looking fantastic and I haven't been near a pool shop in months.

fabulous handy tool, so much easier than using an online pool calculator! all the calculations are dead on and it hasn't failed me yet.

I depend on this handy calculator to balance my pool water every year. It's so simple and completely accurate. Try it... You'll save a lot of money on pool chemicals plus you'll save yourself a ton of aggravation trying to figure out what to add and how to balance your pool water out.

Great app but doesn't calculate for reducing chlorine. With cryptosporidium we are required to super chlorinate to 20 ppm for fecal contamination. . Its very dificult to know how much neutralizer to add. Would be nice if this worked both ways.

This is the best pool.chemical calculator that I have found. I recently switched to an iPhone, and the calculators for it are horrible. I still have to break out my old phone for the pool. Please make a Pool Pal app. for the iPhone.

New pool is almost ready to be filled, will be using this app to aide in chemistry. One request so far that comes to mind. Can you add the ability to for recommendations to change depending on which methods you use. For instance if I want to raise TA to a certain amount it gives a recommendation. But if I choose to use soda ash for pH it will also have an effect on TA but it doesn't change how much baking soda should be used for TA then. I believe the pool calculator on TFP has this feature.

Man oh man have I found the perfect pool chemical application! This calculator this application is so rad it makes me want to take care of my pool if you can imagine that :-)

I do have one question though. When using this app in conjuction with a salt water pool and a salt chlorinator what sanitizer do you select? Bleach I'm assuming.

Keep track of your pool is so easy! Only wish would be for a "what if I add this much X chemical".

New above ground pool owner, this app had been spot on. Really made simple work of the BBB method I'm using. Super app telling me what needs to be added and quantities. Thanks very much!

Works great, very easy to track chemicals, and accurate

Love this app. Use it all the time. Can you add a couple of things though? How about adding ionizer systems under sanitizer. And sodium hypochlorite under type? Again, love the app. Keep up the great work!

Most importantly, this app doesn't account for newer methods of water sanitation that use far fewer chemicals: silver ion - ozonators and salt water systems for example. Also, The pH-Down configuration options don't include sodium hydrogen carbonate, which my spa company uses exclusively.

Easy to use app. I like that you can set your own parameters and chemical types, and that Trouble Free Pools is referenced, a site I have a lot of respect for. This app allows you to use off the shelf products like baking soda and Borax, not just the more expensive pool store products.

I can make entries in the ppm now and goal fields but I can't find the recommendations on any tab or menus

It would be great if there was a way to add a previous days readings by choosing the date manually. Otherwise very handy pool calculator!

Pool chemical balancing is no longer a mystery!

Very easy to use app that makes monitoring and maintaining my pool so easy. Includes all of the necessary chemistry levels required to keep your pool in perfect condition.

Comprehensive. Takes into account Hardness, sunscreen (cyanuric acid) and salt impacts on water balance for pool surfaces.

GREAT. If however it had the ability to add before and after photos and email clients when its logged (like a electronic door hanger) it would be the BEST APP for pool service pros.

Very accurate and reliable, makes looking after a pool simple. Only addition would be to allow the notes section to be added when you export to cvs file.

Need to fix the way you save entries, the way it is now you copy over past entries. The suggestions for balancing the water is spot on though. Update, fixed for the most part and still accurate maintenance suggestions.

Especially useful if you follow "trouble free pool" guidelines.

Basic but good

Does want I need when I need it! I can also convert to what I want.

A must have for every pool or spa owner. Makes maintaining pool chemistry a breeze. To save money and get more control I use a lot of less common chemicals, and this makes using the right amounts easy.

Only issue I have is that I can't get my notes to export with the rest of the data. I save every test in Dropbox for future reference.
