Audiobooks, Books & Music for Android
I liked the idea of it but it's pretty much ruined that. A book will be there one day and gone the next. Not a lot of newer books are on here and they like to pause while I'm listening for now reason. Took my money even tho it said free trial
I really liked the idea of this being unlimited. Especially, after being a member on audible since 2013. However, it seems like many titles have disappeared, and ones that I have saved to my audio books that no longer seem to be available won't play. We updated to a premium subscription, but it has done little to fix the problem. We will likely be going back to audible. If rather pay more and have reliable service.
I regret to say that I will no longer be able to afford your services. My current plan no longer exists (9.95 for full access to the audio book library plus ebooks) and I will not be forced to pay almost triple the current rate, 29.95, for FULL access to audio books or almost double, 14.95, for UNDER HALF of the audio books available. I feel that the original vision of this company, to provide good and affordable content has been compromised. It is no longer better than the competition and is nowhere near "the Netflix" of everything. Netflix has yet to try and stiff me this badly.
Really upset that all of the Stephen King books just disappeared. The main reason I pay was for the wide variety of Stephen King books. Please bring them back.
I signed up for the $14.99 premium audiobook plan 15 days ago and now the library was cut by more than half and now I'm stuck with a terrible selection. I'm also now finding out that the reason for this crappy selection is that I'm being switched to a basic tier plan and Playster wants to increase the price of the premium plan to $29.99. I feel ripped off and will cancel at the end of my 30 days because I can't trust Playster.
There service is NOT unlimited like they claim. If you listen too much they will cancel your subscription claiming that you violated their fair use policy and give you a chance to appeal, when you explain that you just listen to a lot of books and often fall asleep while they are playing at night... they will still cancel your subscription. In regard to playster reply, yes they did send an email after I submitted my appeal...it stated they were doing their best to reinstate my subscription. Later that day I received an email stating they reviewed my appeal and unfortunately could not reinstate my subscription to playster. The "next step" playster refers to below must be in reference to the refund for the current month. But like I said playster is NOT unlimited...it is intended for occasional listening NOT for avid listeners !
I had about 10 books lined up to listen to and they lost all of their contract rights before I had a chance. I am beyond disappointed with this service and the app is difficult to navigate. Highly do not recommend. If you want audio books I suggest audible, playster might offer "unlimited" books but they have NO selection. If you want free audio books try Hoopla, it works through your local library, their selection is small but there's no charge!
This may be the worst app I still keep on my phone. The value of the service is what keeps me using it. I'm a big audiobook listener so I keep using playster just for the value. But the app is downright terrible. It continually logs me out of my account. It never remembers my dictation speed. It frequently stops my audiobook to suggest other audiobooks I may like. With any other app I would have deleted a long time ago. I just can't beat the value.
I only use the app for audio books and have rarely had the log out issue that most people are reporting, but the books constantly pause/stop which is really annoying. Sometimes for no reason, sometimes because the app sends a pop up about unfinished books or to ask if you are still listening...WHILE YOU ARE ACTIVELY LISTENING. Seriously?? The concept is great and I was hoping it could replace Audible, but the constant pause/stop is a dealbreaker. I'm not hopeful that it will stabilize enough to be useful for my cross-country drive home for Christmas. Will cancel next month.
This app would be great if it ever worked. I've been using it for a few months, and it has a lot of issues. The server goes down frequently, it pauses itself constantly, and today almost all of my saved audio books are "no longer available". Audible is more expensive, but it's performance is rock solid. At this point it's worth the extra money.
I read the reviews and most of the users experience same issues then I do. Currently my sleep timer doesn't work. Playster, stop apologizing to your customers and just finally fix it! You are well aware of these issues. So tired of this app...
I love the audiobook part of the app! The reason for the loss of 2 stars is the fact that it keeps interrupting the play to give me recommendations for other audiobooks! When I'm in the midst of listening, I'm not interested in any recommendations! I'm paying for the use of this each month! Please correct this!
This app is so broke sick that when they reset your password for you it still doesn't work. Then you cannot reach these crooks to get your money back. They are professional thieves.
I don't understand the complaining of many of the reviewers. I've had this app exceed my expectations since creating my acct. To be fair, I only pay for and use the audiobook feature, so take from that what you will.
The app is great... when it works. It's constantly asking me to log in again and again. A lot of times it won't accept my password. After logging in 4 times in a row it just made me reset my password and now it won't accept it again. I have a Galaxy S7. It's $10/month more than Audible and I never have a problem with Audible. I'd like to finish the story I'm in the middle of but don't have time to fight with the app. Probably going to cancel this membership. 12-1-17 It stopped logging me out but still stops mid-sentence many times per day. Seems to happen when I get notifications from other apps. Doesn't seem compatible with the S7 system. 12-5-17 I really hate this app. It's now back to logging me out and won't accept my password. I listen to audiobooks when I'm driving or working around the house. In other words, when my hands and eyes are occupied. VERY inconvenient when it continually bombs on me. I'm done. Maybe I'll try again when you've fixed it.
This app is definitely NOT worth the money. No warning when website is down. The app just logs you out for no reason. Password doesn't work, and requests for change of password goes unanswered for days. THEN, it doesn't work.
What did they delete my review? This app is horrible. And so far playster a company is falling way short of audible! It's a good concept but I'm a few weeks in to my first month and I've had nothing but trouble. It logs you out all the time, then you can't log in. I was in the middle of a book and when the servers came back up (they've gone down at least twice when I wanted to listen) I was told the book was no longer available. It's not user friendly and can be hard to find what you are looking for. You can search for an author but not find a book until you search the title. Today it stopped playing, while I'm busy at work and I had to pull my phone out to see what happened. A screen had popped up that said I had two unfinished books and did I want to switch to one of them. No! If I wanted to listen to one of them I would have pulled it up. Don't interrupt the book for stupid stuff like that, it's annoying.
Used it for the audiobook selection. Great selection; absolutely horrendous player. Muffled, distorted. Just a bad, bad player. Get that fixed and easily 5*.
This app logs me out, and then refuses to log me back in. I get the message over and over again that my logon information is not correct even after I go through the reset process.
Would like to finish the book I was listening to. Now it's unavailable, along with others I intended to listen to.
Logs me out frequently listening to audiobook one day next day is no longer available didn't get to finish
Pretty upset right now, being I was deep into an audiobook, listening to it earlier today, and now it is suddenly "no longer available".
Extremely buggy. After latest update I've re-downloaded my books twice and still can't listen offline. Going to try again...
It still has some problems with the app, it randomly pauses, but over all I would recommend this app.
Just locked me out with a update doesn't remember me I'm pissed
Great when it works but kicks you out too often. Today when I got back in about 10 of the books in my queue were no longer available including the one I was reading.
I love this app but im very frustrated it signs me out and says my email or password is invalid. I uninstalled andvreinstalled. No luck. Super frustrated.
Junk. Hardly anything worth the monthly fee. Found no books or music that was good. The books are mostly open source and I didn't find a single title I wanted to listen to when searching. App is broken and constantly crashes and looses your place. Audible is where it's at!
I bought the year payment and haven't had a full week yet of it working properly... It stops randomly and not just to ask if I'm still listening it keeps logging me out. First it was saying retry connection error, but at very least I could listen on line. Now I can't even get that as it tells me to use the app that won't log me in! I hope this gets fixed ASAP as I'm about to return it! Multiple times been told that It's being worked on. Well here's hoping !******** Update I got to use the website all weekend to get into my account. Still the app never works. And now the whole site is down! You really need better IT guys and a better server! Feeling more frustrated.
Download a book, start listening to it, then book is removed without warning and no longer available. What is going on with this service?
I love the app. There are a lot of books to read and audio books but as of this morning I cannot login to my account and it keeps saying I don't have a internet connection!!! What is going on?
Fix the random stopping and the random logging me out of my account and then telling me my account isn't found. I like this app but I'm tired of having to push play every 45 mins and I'm tired of it logging me out. Update: 11/17/17 This app is yet again signing me out and then telling me that my account isn't found. Please fix this issue! I really want to give y'all a higher rating but this really needs fixed.
I like it but... I can't figure out how to watch on my tv with LocalCast. And I can't log In on the tablet I received in the mail when I click sign I with Google it takes me back to the login page with no error message at all. Is Any one able to help me here. I really want to be able to enjoy this app to its full capability as I'm am paying for it. No room for buyers remorse help me now!!!
This app literally gets worse by the day. Looses my place in books, can't stay logged in, have to go find the book I was in the middle of, constantly crashes. I pay $10 a month just to have a huge hassle. I was paying more with audible, but I will switch back if not corrected.
Awful selection of audio books, music and films. Nothing I look for is available. This app won't let me cancel the free trial so now I'm stuck trying to work out how not to pay £25 next month for something I don't want!
I'm seriously considering canceling my account. It keeps logging me out, and when I try to log back in it won't recognize my account. It shows an error message. I'll check back tomorrow I hope it is back to going again because I really enjoy my books when it works! For now I will be trying another app.
My app just logged me out and won't let me back in....very frustrating. Actually ridiculous! When you pay money for an app you should get a lot better quality than this. I've had Audible for years and I have never had the problems I've experienced with your app. Please fix the problems because when it works I've enjoyed it very much.
So far I am enjoying this app.. got the tablet combo box.. only had one problem of being logged out and not getting back on.. but playster customer support sorted that out for me.. I use the music play lists a lot and for most of the time they run well.. got lots of books i want to read.. haven't listened to any audio ones yet... but they have got a good selection.. (although not as much as audible).. the only downside are the movies they are a little dated (but I wanted this app for the books.. so not to bothered).
Signs you out and will not connect to server! When you try to sign back in it had difficulties. Very annoying! Would be a great app of this was fixed. Also if it had whole series of books. Needs more current horror books

I pay too much for this app to keep randomly asking me if i want to continue my current book, stopping & logging me out and now today telling me my acct can't be found. I should have stayed with audible by Amazon bu5 now I'm stuck paying a monthly fee for a year for a crappy tablet & even crappier service! UPDATE- 12/15 APP SAY I DON'T EXIST & CAN NO LONGER LOG IN THIS IS JUNK!
