Not having to trace across each line of text and down to subsequent lines means one can read much faster. I read at 230 words per minute using Android Speed Reader. The app works with standard txt files that the user puts on their phone's SD card.
Many classic novels such as Homer's Odessy are available in txt format for free. Copy them to your phone and you have a mini library in your hand.
