This App put my old Nexus 7 into a boot loop. I'm so pissed off right now. Way to write terrible code Plantronics you jerks! I've been spending hours trying to fix this and it even reboot loops when I put it into safe mode. This is the only thing that changed. My tablet is on OS 4.4.4. I'm going to call you for direct assistance and might be screaming loudly since this is BS!

The device did not function like it did before the update. Power off button did not respond. I cold not get audio untill I found an unfamiliar audio on/off setting in preferences. After about a year of use I never saw this setting and it was set for off. I am not certain I worked out all details yet.

F70%
by F####:

I haven't had the issues that some others have complained about. The application seems stable and I like that it can update the firmware on the headset.

N70%
by N####:

Doesn't work on Samsung S6 or Tab4. Can't detect existing BBFIT connection. In general BBFIT has poor device switching compared to other Plantronics headsets - Disappointed.

Q70%
by Q####:

What a useless app. I updated my earphones and they've stopped working now. Both my phones can't get a Bluetooth signal.

N70%
by N####:

What the hell type of download is this!!!! Now my headphones stopped working and the only thing I hear is power on/ off battery full. Whats going on?

N70%
by N####:

Made my BackBeat FIT announce the actual hours of listening time left instead of just saying "Battery full", " ... medium" or "... low". Awesome!

T70%
by T####:

Besides being able to update the headphones the app is pointless. Wish there was the ability to adjust the volume of the voice prompts.

N70%
by N####:

This is a really simple app that doesn't do more than keep your phones updated. Not much else. I wish you could control the volume of the battery and on/off notification. I can barely hear it.

App failed to find device, even after my phone (Nexus 6P) paired with it. I turned device on/off 3 times but this app could not find it.

This update went very smoothly. Great job guys!

5 stars are yours. thank you for finally getting the android wear app to work with Backbeat fit. this is my 3rd pair of Plantronics headphones. i have tried several other brands and they either have ridiculous short battery life or they are bulky and poor ergonomics but these are great and awesome in both aspects. they sound good could have more bass could be little louder but they are still best i have used, they have excellent range and the updater has worked perfectly , have had 4 updates no problems.

Update failed initially. Then unit blinked pink lights and wouldn't power on. App showed disconnected. After fussing with it (included reconnecting power, attempts to power on, and plugging in while having the button pressed) there seemed to be no hope. After chatting with support on return procedure, app suddenly prompted to resume a prior failed update. Although still showing disconnected, resuming successfully completed the update.

N70%
by N####:

Disconnects randomly... And everytime I power it on it says the following... "Power on", "battery full" - "headset connected" / "disconnected" / "connected". Everytime. Come ON Plantronics, you guys made the headsets that went to the moon!!!! You are better than this.... At least you -used- to be. :(.

This was the "killer feature" why I installed the app: "Install the BackBeat FIT Companion app on all phones and tablets you use with your headset to easily switch between devices with a single tap." Now, I want to tap something on the *headphones* to switch between devices that are out-of-reach. Seems like that's not a thing. Seems like I have to have the active phone/tablet in my hand, open the BackBeat app, then open up the screen to switch the connection, then a "single tap" (ha!) can release the connection from that phone/tablet. In theory, it's a useful feature but it's just not implemented properly. It's easier for me to open a settings menu and enable/disable bluetooth. For this feature to work well, it needs to be integrated into a tap or double-tap on one of the headphone's buttons.

I've never experienced any problems with connectivity, being even 10 meters away from the phone. These are the best headphones for sports.

N70%

Feels like flagship merchandise. The app is simple and the fact that the ear buds have a app to support it says they care about the product.

Don't know what people are complaining about. Worked quickly and easily. No errors or connection issues. And I have a lovely new regional voice over the robotic American one I had before. Only thing I would say is it would be good if you could update through the plantronics hub instead and if the app could be smaller (26mb really - you guys put men on the moon so surely you can make this app smaller). Love my plantronics kit... Keep up the good work.

N70%
by N####:

Completely useless if I can't use it to update firmware. Like everyone else... Get to last screen and either fails or headphones disconnect because they are plugged in to a power source. My headphones work great. Guess I can just delete this app since it does nothing for me.

N70%
by N####:

Every time there's an update released. EVERYTIME, I have to spend have a day to convince the app the headset is connected to a power source. This is really hectic and seriously not worth. Now my headset is stuck where I can't use it and can't update it! Just poor. I expected more from Plantronics.

J70%
by J####:

Absolutely useless update. App fails to update firmware immediately. Gives no chance to plug headset into power before failing. The few times I was able to plug in the headset before the auto fail the app never detects that the headset is plugged in and freezes. After a minute or so of being frozen the firmware update fails again.

N70%
by N####:

Last update started with the constant Disconnecting from my Android phone with 6.1 installed and shutting down with no prompts so many times since this last update. ** This September 2016 update breaks everything, cant see either of my headsets on the app. You guys really do want me to find another product.

L70%
by L####:

I'm highly upset with this headset! I just bought it today and can not even use it due to the app won't update the firmware on the headset! I think the makers should refund everyone's money for purposely creating an app that doesn't function to where the device is useless! This is my reply to the company reply: I may change my review! Hard to review on 'MY EXPERIENCE' of using the product when I can't use it due to your product being useless! So your company might want to fix the problem first.

N70%
by N####:

It looks like there should be a programmed delay between the "plug in your headphones" message and the firmware update attempt which is somehow getting skipped. The workaround is to have the power cord ready to go and have someone else "tap, tap, tap" rapidly through all the screens leading and instantly shove in the power cord when you get to the last screen before the fail message pops up. Pretty janky. Don't bother with the work around, the update makes the headphone controls annoying to use.

E70%
by E####:

Amazing - they make it so you have to connect the headset to power before you can upgrade the firmware. As soon as you connect the headset to power the headset disconnects from your phone. Upgrade fails. Genius guys. Actually genius.

D70%
by D####:

Hello, not sure if this is the app, or the device - but the headphones override the Do Not Disturb feature on my phone, which is disconcerting and affecting. Would it be possible to add Do Not Disturb to the app? Thanks.

B70%
by B####:

Absolutely will not update the firmware. Gets to the last page where it says to plug in the headset to power, and immediately gives a "firmware update" failed error message without the opportunity to plug in the headset.

Y70%
by Y####:

Does not update headset. Disconnects constantly when following the prompts to update. Can connect then when it tells me to plug into power source, it disconnects.

N70%
by N####:

Says I need to connect headset to power source but aborts before there is a chance to do so.

N70%

Used to drop out constantly before this latest update on my Samsung Note 4 so far so good seems to be an improvement fingers crossed!!

N70%
by N####:

Installed the app. The first thing asked me to do was to update my firmware. Because of a poor connection, the update was interrupted. Now my device is bricked. NOT happy !

N70%
by N####:

Same problem as everyone else. App doesn't give time to plug headset to power and aborts the update.

N70%
by N####:

I cannot get the app to run following the most recent update - my tablet keeps rebooting.
