About goHenry
goHenry helps young people between the ages of 6 and 18 save, spend and learn about money. It combines web and mobile apps with a pre-paid debit card with parental controls. Parents set rules and limits, can allocate pocket money and allowances automatically or set tasks and chores for their children to earn extra. It’s a way to give young people financial independence so they can learn by doing, but under a watchful eye and with no danger of debt.
goHenry’s Android app makes it even easier and more convenient for parents and their children to manage their goHenry accounts.
Parents you can:
- Set weekly pocket money and allowance payments, make one-off money transfers instantly to your children and set tasks so they can earn extra
- Set your children’s spending rules and limits
- Receive instant, real time notifications when your children spend using their card, telling you where and how much
- View recent transactions in real time and monitor your children’s progress
- Top up your parent account from within the app
- Block the goHenry card if lost or mislaid
- Manage your goHenry profile from within the app including setting up standing orders, auto-top-ups and more
- Retrieve your children’s card PIN and manage your passwords
- Refer friends and earn extra pocket money

- Set savings goals and goHenry can help you meet them by making sure a proportion of your money is automatically saved each week

It's so easy to use. once you get used to it as a Mum of 4 I have completed control of the account but the kids learn about money and how to spend you can set daily spends, how much they can pull out at a cash machine you can even switch off the cash machine setting and online shopping, you can write task down for them and how much they will get for doing it you can set up automatic top ups or top up when and as you want it tells you where and when and the amount they have used as soon as they spend on it

Very confusing to use, kids loved it but both parents confused as to how to set up adult privileges equally. I've got all the control Dad can't see any options. Not sure we'll keep this but will give it a couple of weeks.

Fantastic way to teach kids to appreciate, earn and save money. Kids love their personalised debit cards which are very funky. Great way of rewarding tasks around the house, good school results and paying pocket money. When they want a new toy or game etc they simply save money on their go Henry and pay for it themselves when they have saved enough. Now they appreciate and look after the things they buy! Highly recommend this app if you want to get kids to learn about the importance of money.

The mobile app doesn’t appear to always sync as expected. For example, if I tick a task on my PC my daughters mobile app does not sync the change or receive an appropriate notification. The only way to see the change is to log out and back in again. However, if I do a ‘Quick transfer’ this is synced immediately on the mobile device together with a notification. How can I force a resync/refresh in any instance? Tip. Use bank transfer to top-up as this doesn't incur a 50p fee. Overall a few glitches but shaping up to be a very useful app.

Absolutely fantastic! Ingenious idea. My kids absolutely love it. It gives them the understanding of how to manage their money and the freedom to do so whilst allowing me to monitor and have discussions with them around their spending. The custom cards were only delivered yesterday (very fast turnaeound) and my girls are already asking me to set up one-off tasks such as cleaning the car, to try to make some more money towards their saving goals. Brilliant - thank you!

Tried it. Not really what we need. Want to cancel membership and stop paying monthly fee. Can't do this on app or website. Really hate it when people intentionally make it hard leave. Requires phone call. Why? Reminds me of AOL.

Seemed ok to start with but I reloaded it with another 5.00 and he used it 4 times... each time saying it was unauthorised but the money has left his account. I left it 5 days to see if it would drop back in but hasnt
