About Flash Power Calculator

This is a simple application for calculations to setup flash units around the subject. Based on camera and flash unit settings it computes distance of the flash unit for optimal exposure.
Low cost flash units are lack of TTL metering for self-adjustment of flash power. For optimal exposure, user has to do mathematical calculations before capturing the picture. This application simplifies the process and quickly suggests the flash distance from the subject to capture properly exposed picture.
Process -
- Set camera in manual mode and select highest flash sync speed (Normally, 1/200s for most of the DSLRs). Set desired Aperture value.
- Launch application and fill in Flash Guide Number, Selected Flash Power Level, Aperture Value and ISO.
- Based on the distance results either go to next step or change the parameters of camera/flash (Flash Power Level, Aperture Value or ISO) and recomputed the distance until distance result is not in a desired range.
- Place the flash unit at the computed distance with suitable angle towards the subject and capture the pictures.
- For additional flash units follow the same distance and reduce the flash power to create dramatic lighting results.

The "results" overlap the name of the company on the bottom.. Since they are on top of each other, you cant read what the results show... also it would be nice if we could change it from meters to feet
