About Pi Sight

Pi Sight is an application which allows you to control all the aspects of your Raspberry Pi camera module using an Android device. This app makes it a lot easier to start using and experimenting with your Raspberry Pi camera module using a simple graphic interface.

After capture, the images are automatically saved on your Raspberry Pi and a preview is downloaded to your Android device. You then have the option to save the full image to your device gallery if you wish to.

It was inspired by BerryCam for iOS and has much of the same functionality. You can control exposure modes, image effects, white balance, image size and quality and pretty much every other parameter that can be accessed when using the camera on the command line. It also uses the same Python handler script on the Raspberry Pi as BerryCam - which means that if you have both Android and iOS devices you will still only need the one handler script running in the background on your Raspberry Pi.

This app is perfect for those getting started with the Raspberry Pi camera module, as well as seasoned pros looking for an easier way to take pictures, time lapses and videos with their Raspberry Pi and Android device. This app can also come in handy if your Raspberry Pi camera setup lives in a hard to access remote location, or if you just want to take some security shots of your house whilst you are away to check everything is in order!

PLEASE NOTE: To get this to work correctly, you will need to have a Raspberry Pi with a camera module installed. You will then need to visit http://www.pi-supply.com/pi-sight/ and follow the instructions to get the Python listener script running on your Raspberry Pi.

Got this working after installing added python script to Pi. It takes a picture then sends it to device based on "blind" settings. Be good to have live feed, even it it's a few frames/sec also ap will not go into landscape mode so pictures are totally wrong proportionally to screen! As others have said, be good to access more than one Pi.

cool app---IVE NOW CHANGED MY RATING TO 4 STARS.......good comms from DEV. this is because that after i take between 1and 3 pics i have to restart the software.....and yes i do wait actually double the time really needed between pics. i wait 15 secs. u only really need 6-7secs.... as it takes pi this long to take a pic, a time below 6 secs will certainly cause probs for the second pic .forward ports on your router2 acces ur pi cam from over the net..... i would like to see video added.....if possible.......... thanks to dev for adding the vf and hf options, as this was an option that should been there from start.........still if u only get this app if only to look at how the dev goes about using python to control the picam, and take on board to helpu with your own projects...............lot better than a python manual for example......... this app is only limited to whats possible with the picam in python in general. dev cant put feautures in the picam dont support now..... defo 5 stars if issus with crashes is fixed........im using nexus 4,cm11.stable..cwmr....ziddy kernel..if that info makes a difference,????
