About Ship Finder

The original and most highly rated ship tracking app

Our popular Ship Finder apps have been featured in maritime and sailing publications and websites across the globe.

Don’t take our word for it – check out our ratings and the wide range of positive press we’ve had across the world.

Ship Finder provides near real time “virtual radar” AIS maps. It’s easy to use and is an amazing app for anyone interested in shipping, cruising and sailing in ports and locations across the world. It’s also great if you simply want to know what boats are out there or want to see where your friends and family are.

Features include:

Live moving ships
Ship route trails
Search by vessel name
Ship information such as – Vessel Name, Port of Registration, Destination, ETA
Technical information such as – MMSI, IMO, Callsign , Heading, Length, Width, Draft

Ship Finder works by picking up AIS ship feeds used by all passenger vessels, vessels over 300 tons and increasingly smaller pleasure craft. This technology is actually faster than radar and is used directly by vessels for navigation.

Our global coverage is impressive and expanding all of the time, please check www.shipfinder.co regularly for current coverage.

Pinkfroot are committed to customer service and continually improve our Ship Finder apps based on feedback. Follow us on Twitter @pinkfroot, and join our online community at www.pinkfroot.com If you have any questions please email support@pinkfroot.com and we’ll be happy to help.

Our companion App – Plane Finder is highly rated and enjoyed by both professionals and anyone with an interest in planes and ships.

This app was great on ios. After switching to Android I have absolutely no use for it. I can't search, it won't show my location, and no ships are visible. Really angry that I wasted money on both versions of this only to be left with a second Google maps.

Like everyone else has already said, this app used to work great but now you can't search for ships because the menu button doesn't even exist! Also the boats take FOREVER to load onto the screen. This app is a complete WASTE OF TIME now and I would like my money back.

Used to work fine more than a year ago. Always been on android. Now there is no search the app is rubbish. Shame it is no longer the app is started out to be. Must have taken all the money and never reinvested in development. Shame

Was great on iOS, avoid at all costs on Android. Nothing visible if you soon out, zoom in to see ships, but no legend and labels so small they're absolutely illegible.

I would like a refund please. This app doesn't work on my Galaxy s7. Very disappointing.

Paid good money for this app only to find unable to search for ships. Connected Pinkfoot Limited and was told they were looking into it and will sort it. That was 3 months ago. DO NOT BUY!!!!

Had this on my iphone and it worked well. But the Android version is much slower and does not have live streaming of vessel position for some reason. It needs bringing up to speed by Pinkfroot.

Bought it and installed in my Samsung galaxy s3 hoping I could find my brothers location who works in a ship in the Philippines. We badly need to find him and his location especially after being battered by typhoon Yolanda. This app is a good idea but unfortunately didn't help. It could help save lives if it works properly.

Suck and lack all the feature of iOS app like AR mode and others. Loads bad too.

Had this app for a while and now it's stopped showing ships. Load of rubbish!

T70%

The ability to adjust the settings has disappeared. I have a Galaxy Tab a running on Android 6 marshmallow. I didn't like the disappearing settings button that was in the lower right corner it needs to be a permanent fixture or all other Android programs have it in the upper right or upper left corner. Please fix this thank you

Had this app on iPhone and was great but useless on Samsung S5. No settings available and you can get no ship info by touching symbols so just a bunch of coloured dots, hopeless

It was great on my note 2 but it's not as good on note 4 the text is to small when you try to read the name of the ship still does as it says but might try the dearer one and see what it's like cheers

The difference between the 2 is shocking, I've a note 4 and you cannot make any of the boats out on the tiny photos. The interface is second rate and looks out dated. In short DONT bother.

No ads, easy to use, developer keeps it up to date, 5 stars from me.

Does what it says it does. The app uses Google maps as the background map which is a bit of a surprise as they have changed nothing about the way it looks at all. However , there is nothing wrong with Google maps of course and is well known for it's accuracy. When the app is first launched , even using a fast Wi-Fi connection, little ships icons takes around ten to twenty seconds to populate the map in the given area which is a bit slow. Once it does though, different coloured icons indicate different categories and statuses of vessels. Navigation beacons and are also shown. The information updates automatically in real time so you can actually watch the progress of a vessel across the map. Touching the icon of a ship brings up an information pane giving facts and figures about it as well as destination and expected arrival time where applicable. Fascinating even for people like myself who have an interest it boats and ships and often watch them from the shore wondering what they are doing and where they are going to. This app will answer your curiosity. It's not as bad as some previous reviews suggest in my opinion, but it could be quite a bit better with an improved interface.

Used to be great on ios but android version is useless, even the paid version. Stick to MarineTraffic its ten times the program. Hard to believe this is produced by same people as the excellent Planefinder

Had it for the apple and loved it. I joined the website, was a real enthusiastic user... But this android app is awful. It crashes. Runs slowly. The ship info windows are poor and unresponsive. Even the font is not clear. Im binning this in favour of Marine traffic which is awesome. Sorry guys - you lost a customer.
