Live Icon

Live Icon is a companion app for Adobe Photoshop CC, allowing you to design Android icons and see them update in real time on real devices!

After enabling remote connections in Photoshop and entering your connection details into the app you'll be able to see the icon you're designing update on your home screen. This isn't saving out the image in low dimensions to view it on a computer, neither is it zooming out to get a rough idea of how your icon might look on a device. This is real time previewing of your icon so you know 100% how it'll look on any android device running 2.3 and above. This means you can tweak your design until it's just how you want it to look on your Android mobile/tablet.

Before Downloading you will need!

Adobe Photoshop CC, preferably the latest version. You can download a trial copy from the Adobe website using Creative Cloud.
That your Mac or PC is running on a network that your Android device can connect to. The easiest way is if your Mac/PC and your Android device connects to the same wireless network.
An Android device running version 2.3 and above.

Quick first steps

Open Photoshop CC and go to the Plugins option in preferences.
Enable Remote Connections, enter a password and note the ip address.
Run Live Icon and tap New Connection
Give your connection a unique name and enter the ip address you noted along with the password.
If your connection is successful you'll be shown any files open in Photoshop, or if you press New Icon a new Photoshop document will be created with the recommended dimensions for an app icon.
