Phorus for Android
I'll be buying more.
Speakers are useless.
Phorus and Play-Fi by extension is getting better all the time. I've not always been a fan, but now it is so good that I have no complaints.
Add Google play music and get better rating, I've got a definitive technology sound bar and this feature is useless to a lot us. Add more services!
Play-Fi has great sound and the app does well at controlling the Play-Fi devices, but it's sorely lacking in major streaming providers. They need to include Google Play Music and iTunes/Apple Music as well as purchased music on Amazon. How many users actually use KKBox & QQ Music? Their site says it plays Spotify, but that isn't in the app either. UPDATE: I have both definitive and Phorus systems. I discovered that the app that is suggested by Definitive works just as well on the other speakers, handles spotify, and is a cleaner UI
Still have to play songs from the media server one at a time. Can't add songs to a queue in order to "DJ". This means you can't just load up some tunes and move on, you have to keep fiddling with the app. Also, sometimes app cannot find Serviio media server and must close and re-open to find.
Now won't "pair". Error message.
I love the concept of phorus and the execution keeps getting better. Thanks for the hard work!
I would like to be able to play my own playlist that I have created on Amazon Prime.
The speakers work and sound great. Easy to network, and use. Amazon Prime Music needs to be able to access your prime library, please. There are a lot of albums saved, and I can't play them. Playlists and stations are a good start, but they also need to be searchable vs scrolling through hundreds of them. Google play music would also be a huge addition.
Small speakers pack big punch. Amazon Prime Music works great!
Streaming audio does not work if you have to reconnect everything more than once a week. We bought a new dual band router and paid 300 dollars to hire someone to set it up for best coverage. Everything works... except Phorus.
Great app! Works like a charm. Easy to use as well.
On Android, yet still no Google Music support? Fail.
Bluetooth won't stay connected play fi drops off line....wish I could have just flushed my two and a half Bens in the toilet myself...Not happy
Google Play Music?
I thought i found a good solution, but without the ability to play from Google music, these speakers are going back ASAP. Not having Google Music is a HUGE miss...
No Play Music but KKBox. What gives?
It's cool.
Drops network connection, force closes... Very unreliable app/device
Love the sound, easy set-up, & use! Just wish I could play any sound from My phone/ tablet through the speaker (Netflix movie or hulu, etc..)
Love the open ecosystem and interoperability with various speakers
If you get one speaker you can only use it via bluetooth. Two or more no love at all. Lame!
Bought the new PS5 and PR5 and streaming is rock solid even on my crowded network. Appreciate that there are great free services including Pandora, Songza and Internet Radio in addition to paid services like SiriusXM. To my surprise it even played my high-res files from HD Tracks. The UI is clean, simple and easy to understand. Will be expanding my system shortly.
Please add ability to use Power Amp app.
The app is still far behind others. Deciding which speaker to buy ALL depends on the app. The app for Bose and Heos were better. It allowed me to test the app in demo mode before purchasing the speaker. Sonos has the most music support but their speakers all sound distorted at high volumes. Danny Lau needs to step it up. Even Bose has Spotify and IHeartRadio support. Bose was smart and did not reinvent the wheel. Their apps goes directly to Spotify app while sound is streamed through Bose. SoundTouch.
This would be a killer device if it supported Google Music. It is OK otherwise. We mostly just use it to listen to internet radio. I'd give 5 stars if Google Music was supported for streaming.
I love how Play-Fi is an open standard and how I'm not locked into any 1 brand. New services and features pop up all the time. I love songza!!!
It just works! Unlike other systems I've tried, multi room streaming is reliable and the Phorus app supports the services I care about like Pandora and Songza which are totally free, and SiriusXM which I subscribe to through my car.
I love how they keep updating the app all we need is an enqueue fight function.
Works great with my PS1 speakers!
Using this system is addictive. Sending music throughout the house puts you in a great mood every day. With Sirius support I can stream Howard Stern and NFL games too. System gets new features every couple of months. Can't wait for what's next.
Kkbox option doesn't work. Its been months already. Can you fix it please ?
Where is support for Google Play Music and Spotify?
Sirius/xm and Google Play Music?
"Package file has a bad manifest"
I had been happily using two phorus speakers for months, they recently updated the app and it has made my system unusable, no help from support.
The PR1 receiver works great but the Phorus app lacks even basic functions such as remembering last played song. The repeat & shuffle buttons need to be made larger. If I hit the repeat button 10 times, only 1 or 2 times it will respond. I got so fed up with the app and ended up using only the Bluetooth on the PR1 so I can use it with other music player.
Reliable streaming that sounds great. Glad I found this. So sick of Bluetooth.

Bought two speakers, entered my router's password, but the app connected to only one of them. That's silly. My router only has one password - send it to both speakers. I couldn't connect to the other speaker at all. Minor bug, please fix - the user can't tap the volume bar at the desired point. You must drag the volume from its current position to where you want it to be. Why?
