The first step is to create an account by visiting:

This application provides an interface where the user can log in using the username and password provided on the Emergency Alerts website. After successful login, the user's location will be tracked and updated in the database every 30 minutes and the user will be informed via SMS if there is a weather emergency in his/her area.
Note: This application is part of a capstone project at Rochester Institute of Technology and hence the app is very basic.
Note: At this moment the system works for US locations only!
All passwords are encrypted and stored.
Location is encrypted and then stored in the database overwriting the previous stored location.

It was really easy to install, and going to the website to upload your info was a breeze too, however, once installed on your phone, you are required to enter your username and password, okay, got that...but that's it? It doesn't take you to your location and give you any information like how hot or cold it is, what the weather is like in your area, nothing. It just says you have been logged in and your location will be monitored every 30 min. Grr...! I was hoping for a little more from this app...not just an emergency alert IF it does it at all. I currently have flash flood warnings in effect for my area, and I have received nothing as far as an alert. Hmmmm.....

What website? Simply asks for usename and password to a mystery website, of which I'm not a registered user of course as i don't where in the www to find it. uninstalling as is worthless. worth zero stars.
