About DAC Fix for LG V10

This app enables the use of your LG V10's high fidelity ESS DAC/AMP output mode for any app on your phone, not just the built-in music app. Use this app at your own risk! I'm not responsible for any damage done to your device! It is suggested that you only use this for music apps and YouTube, as games can be buggy. Expect extra battery drain!

NOTE: This app is ONLY intended to be used on the LG V10. Though it's possible that it may work on a select few other devices that have DAC setups similar to the LG V10's.

It works but only some times, most of the time it does not work as it should. Please fix. Otherwise, great attempt.

This app solves the problem: Some say the HiFi DAC does not work together with all media apps, for the case of the European model variant H960, but it does. It is amazing that LG has not corrected this feature. It should clearly be a manual setting to define hifi or not, not some obscure automatic feature that sometimes work, sometimes not. And since the natal mediaplayer is granted a dramatically higher max volume level, unless this app is used, LG is actually violating EU regulations with regards to "auditory protection mechanisms". Why? Because, switching from e.g. Tidal to the native media player, your ears burns off unless you remember to turn down the volume before changing. This is a normal thing to do, hence the solution is idiotic . I am using Focal Elear and these headphones have now found their soul-twin. What a sound! On the move, the Huawei noise reduction earplugs are used, but these plugs are not (yet) working unless an "aux" 3.5 mm adapter is used in between to "fool" the LG "Headphone detection algorhitm. I anticipate it is possible to have this work too, and will investigate. Finally: Battery usage (with screen off) is non-alarming after upgr to Android 6.0.

Not sure if it's working. Currently using google music to stream most of my tunes. Also, will this app activate after turning in hifi via the built in option, or do I have to turn on this app every time?

Please make same apps for Mi Note Pro, because this app not work

YouTube and Pandora are two that this won't work on with my device, but I feel that it's the fault of those applications. Pandora never uses a phone's mixer anyway. Got issues with this being kicked by the automatic volume control too, where PowerAmp will start to misbehave because the phone is doing it's thing. Once again, not DAC Fix's issue. However a suggestion to this app: allow it to disable the volume limiter.

This kills my battery at the same rate of quick charge. Looking at the graph under settings. This thing drops percents by the second. Or so it feels. So I only turn it on when needed. Having a widget to turn it on and off as needed would be awesome.

Q70%
by Q####:

in case no1 said it already, this makes it so my flat t-m s7 always has the MEDIA volume changed when i change the volume with the side buttons, therefore making it sensible and actually more of a smart phone.

Sounds great with Poweramp and both my Sennheiser HD 598 and HD 202 MK II headphones. However, it's no longer needed since the Marshmallow update enables the DAC universally.

I give. Tried to get an answer on here and from website, no luck. Really wanted a boost from this. Bummer...

Thank you so much for this app! I use Winamp for everything and, contrary to what another reviewer said, Marshmallow does not fix the issue with DAC not working with 3rd party audio players, at least not as far as Winamp is concerned. Installed this app and it now works perfectly on Winamp now! =)

Had no idea that even though I had enabled the DAC it wasn't being used used for Google Music. This resolves that and now I can enjoy my music even more. Can easily push ATH-40X cans. Would gladly donate to developer.

However, Hifi DAC has been enabled in any app with the recent Marshmallow update. This app has served me very well. Thank you for existing for free. God bless the kind heart of the dev.

Works best if you start playing music first, then plug in the headphones. Not sure if we'll need it for the V20 though...

God bless the creator of this app!! It is both sad and amazing - how LG guys have overlooked such an important thing as making the hi-fi mode of the DAC switch back and forth reliably, without stacking in the "crap-fi"! Even though I found the switch pretty soon when I began to be using my v10, I kept feeling some inexplicable discomfort sometimes. I would catch myself again and again on the impression that my previous value phone sounded better (Samsung Avant). I strongly suspect that the hi-fi switch in Settings is bugged. Or maybe some apps turn it to low quality, and then the DAC just stays "low-end" when you start Poweramp after that? (By the way, who in the freaking world needs 32 bit ? Rediculous! I had a demo piece of Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliette" (4 mins of 32/192 music and 900 MB!) I have downgraded it to 24/96 and honestly could NOT hear ANY difference in my AKG 712 cans. OK, back to the gist. With this app installed the sound makes you happy right on and ever since. No suspicions, no weird impressions whatsoever! Silk and butter, warmth and clarity, fantastic soundstage.

Clever, lightweight workaround to force your LG V10 to utilize its dedicated DAC for headphone audio in all applications. Highly recommend to all V10 owners!

Simply amazing. Thanks for creating this. You've got my vote! Btw, I had to restart my device to get it to work, so that's my heads up to folks downloading this.

I use Beyerdynamic DT 1350's and it's just straight up incredible using this along with Spotify Premium, and an additional amp to help the phone out a bit. SUCH AN ENORMOUS DIFFERENCE picking out extra details on multiple instruments. I recommend lucid labs small portable amp on Amazon for $40 it's incredible to say the least when matched up with LG's DAC

Wow totally works. Good job to the devs lg should give you some cash or some over the pants action for this at the very least.

Great app. For even louder experience on low impedance phones edit some values in system.

The difference it makes to the audio quality of non 24bit flac files is absolutely astonishing. I'm using a pair of grado sr80 and the change in the sound staging I get from turning it on and of is more than I was expecting.

Does not work with Android 6.0 kills 4G signal 4G signal calls down to 1x had to remove and restart phone, this was according to Verizon remove app restarted phone and was able to enable HD calling couldn't before may have been glitch.

This app is awesome for poweramp, also people on here quoting that a seperate amp is needed for the V10, no it doesnt, you have to trick the phone into high impedence setting, before you plug in headphones call your voice mail and once connected then plug in headphones and then check settings for sound in the settings it should say high impedance active and then listen and tell me you need a external amp lol, if it doesnt say “high impedance device” then try again until it shows, it will blow you away

The LG stock music app SQ is below average in my opinion even with the DAC turned on. This app allows me to use my favorite music apps with the benefits of the ESS DAC. Kudos to the developer!

X70%

Hate to admit it.... Just found this app and what a difference! LG dropped the ball by not having the DAC easily accessible for various audio sources. Thanks!

Worked well and did its job up till marshmallow and the DAC fix but if you don't have marshmallow and need a fix this is it right here. A great Dev and an A+ job

Amazing sound using my Napster premier. You have to download and start using it, was like night and day.

HiFi DAC can be used with any app once headset is connected even without any extra app

Fungerar perfekt med min v20, möjligheten att kunna välja vilka appar skulle fungerar med detta hade varit bra för att spara ström.

It works great. I use Rocket to listen to my music collection and this app allows me to take advantage of the awesome DAC and built in amplifier. To get the most out of your DAC you should get a pair of headphones with an impededence above 50 ohms. This will ensure you are utilizing the full potential of the DAC with a wider dynamic range. I just purchased Sony MDR-7506 headphones eith an ohms rating of 63 to see if this was true and am blown away by the sound.

Tried again, still garbage...Did nothing for me! Install it, Enabled ( default) it within the DAC Fix App . Then when to Sound & notifications > Advanced Setting > And 32 bit HiFi DAC is still grayed out. Oh well, that is my luck! Oh I even rebooted the V10 ( verzion) to be safe. Nada...still grayed out..

This app is just awesome and YES it works 100%! A great use for it is on power amp, with bass all the way up, the normal dac gives my m50x a bit of rumble, but man turn on the dac and it gives it more than enough power to really give the headphones ability to make some head shaking bass! I love this app!

just wow... pretty good DAC for a smartphone... great app too, PERFECT.

Not sure why LG would put an ESS DAC and make it usable with only the built-in music app... but this app resolves that oversight. Thank you!

Awsome!! Thanks dev can't thank enough, difference is so clear!!!!

T70%

Great and simple solution. By the way, this won't work with bluetooth because of how amp/dacs are wired, so don't worry if your bluetooth headphones don't respond to this.
