InstaMPG Lite for Android
This application will help you to save money on gas. You can use this application while driving and it will display your car's live MPG on your phone!
You can also view your trip's average MPG. Find out which road is better for your wallet.
This displays the same data as a ScanGauge, but costs 50x less.
How does this work ?
The data is real estimates. The application asks you to enter the current car you are using. Then it downloads the data of other persons that are using the same car as you and determines the live MPG depending on your speed, acceleration, decceleration etc...
The application supports 99% of cars in the US between 1984 and 2012.
The application downloads the data when you are adding the car, no Internet is required while driving.
The application uses your phone's GPS to determine the speed of your car. No data is send to our servers, we take your privacy very seriously.
Does not have vauxhall on here.and a few other models.
What a waste of time.... no diesel Mini 1. A total waste of 10 minutes of my life
Crap. 15 mins free aint enuff to test.+ doesnt cover bikes so you HAVE to choose wrong type of car just to use. Bollox.
Downloaded it hoping to compare it to other obd2 interfaces, but the app doesn't use the car's vitals to calculate mpg, just downloaded car stats and GPS speed to calculate mpg. ?!?!?! So if you drive 65, in second gear, up hill for 3 miles, you'll get the same mpg coasting downhill at 65 for the same distance. ?!?!?!?
I like how simple it is to read and use. I used the "light" version and found that the vehicle information dosnt have automatic or manual options, engine type (v6 or v8, etc). So it was cool for a general mpg, but there are other apps to choose from.
Impressive After trying this app, I immediately purchased the full version. My car is a little old and doesn't show me my miles per gallon, this is very cool!
