DroidSCP for Android
v1.4.1-clear public key cache before connect.
v1.4-add softlink support, add public/private key to unlocked version.
Interface is a a bit awkward but if you can navigate a CLI, this shouldn't be hard. ;) did exactly what I needed it to do, 1st try. Can't say that about all apps I've tried. Good job!
Used to work ok though limit to number of concurrent transfers was annoying. Now it simply won't connect
cant connect to my openssh servers. Other clients work just fine. No useful error messages either for diagnostic purposes.
No HDPI/large screen support so it looks crappy on the galaxy tab. Crashes a lot. No proper resume or overwrite support.
Don't know why some people are having problems with this but on my sprint sammy galaxy note3 it works great. A little ugly but hey, it's a utility.
Hey Developer! You must do your homework for your money. This program ,however works for me, worth nothing. Braindead simple: no folder selection, no names for connections, no target folder selection, preferences is ridiculous. Are you joking?
Broken by design. Wants key to unlock. Get AndFTP instead, supports sftp.
Very similar to winscp except I couldn't open the file ( as far as I could tell in my limited use) but download it from the remote Linux machine. I was on a bind and didn't have a suitable connection for my laptop so it was pretty good second effort substitute!!
Using SCP via the commandline is a 50x faster. 45kB/s vs 2MB/s this is just unacceptable. Droid running CM 5.0.8
Couldn't connect, and it gave me no clues other than to say it couldn't connect. The standard Linux scp client works fine for the same server
I've seen some terrible programs, but this one makes the others seem amazing by comparison. The author should be drawn and quartered for this abomination.
Not sure what pols problem s are with this app, but it worked flawlessly for me right out of the box, maybe those other ppl have never used scp before.
After connecting, the directory listing is empty. I can change directory but each directory looks empty.
No error message other than can't connect, and no errors in the logs on the server. Just didn't work for me.
It would be so much better if you could select directories to send, not just files
The app requires a key to use that is $1.99, I have no money on Google play, so this disappointed me, being an SCP fan and all -_- if there is a way to play it without it I would like to know thanks.
Since it never prompts for a password I Can't login...and therefore this doesn't work at all.
Just wanted you to know what I am going to do
one of the worst UIs ive ever seen. The original norton commander on dos had way better design then this. just because its mobile, shouldnt mean its usesless
Use for simple file transfers over LAN and WAN. Almost perfect. list items too large for my taste and UI inconsistent and unintuitive, but it works well once you get over the imperfections.
Works as intended, just inefficient UI.
Cant select folders to upload / download, doesn't show files on some systems like RPi. More like alpha release
not working with my scp can not see folder after login
Lacks two important features, putting a nickname on the saved connections rather than showing full name or IP adrs, and installing keys to access hosts. I would like recursive directory transfers, but the main complaint is with being clunky and inconvenient to use.
This worked great on Gingerbread! But now on Kitkat, it can't download files to the tablet. It tries, and then aborts with no further information. Tried on both external SD and to internal storage (Downloads folder). App has permission to write, but aborts every time.
Used it once so far to download a file from my Rpi, no probs. Thanks for the app!
It's fast and does what it says. Keep in mind that in the free version, the batch DL is limited to two files at a time (one active, one queued), and there's no folder DL. Otherwise solid app that hooks into my Fedora and CentOS boxes just fine. Off to buy the full version now.
Just installed this program and I can't understand why other reviewers might be unhappy. It works fine and the UI is good for me. Fellow Developer
Trend Micro now sees this as containing a virus: ANDROIDOS_GEN.VTD. I hope this is a false positive.
Interface a little confusing. Main problem is speed. Only getting 30-40k /sec. Should be much faster. Motora Droid.
Does as told, however, uninstalls on reboot, inspire 4g rooted absolution mod
I wish the upload/download queue wasn't limited in the free version. Other than that it's great and easy to use. Yet to find a free alternative.
It's not the greatest, but it's the only free option I've seen for doing simple SFTP transfers. It has "issues" with trying to download things to your device into directories the app isn't allowed to write to--the transfer will abort and you'll get no coherent message telling you about that.
Nice ready way to transfer stuff within my internal network.
Now I can access my Ubuntu box from anywhere! Best app EVER!
@Steve- yes, people still use DSA. Believe it or not, there are no successful attacks against DSA. 2 simultaneous downloads max sucks.
Some trouble getting it working. Running on galaxy tab, crashes on connecting to my home server if tablet held upside down (!)
...but also with ads. 'Nuff said, removing.
Free version doesn't support keys, so it's useless.
