PennyOwl Allowance Tracker

Just getting started with this app, but here's a feature I would like to see: It's great you can set a savings rule esp. for recurring allowance. When i do a one-off transaction, I would like the ability to change the rule for that transaction only, but keep it in general for regular allowance

I generally like the app, it makes it easier to keep track of everything. However, I have a couple of things I don't like/suggestions: 1. The sounds - how do I turn them off? Have I missed a settings page?? 2. Keep me logged in. I don't want to log in every time. My children have their own devices they can get into their accounts. 3. Notifications - again, I don't see a way to change them or customize them. 4. A way to move money from Savings to Spending and vice versa.

Three things would make this already great app perfect: recurring deductions, a third auto-category for charity, and the ability to go negative if you advance the kids future allowance. Otherwise, love it!

This is a great app, chose it over roostermoney for its online store. Very easy to use and my boys can check their balance with their tablets. Would love to add 2 parents, chore checklist, and pics from a store toy to the wishlist.

Looked promising, but I was turned off by the fact that the app wanted to know my gender and whether my kid was a boy or girl. That doesn't seem to be information that is necessary for the app to function, so I uninstalled it.

We've been using PennyOwl for over a year as an allowance control tool with our kids. While the little ones (ages 6-10) are not too much into the definitions of checking/savings accounts, the app makes them practice the concepts of earning, saving and spending/buying. It is also a great solution to help eliminate that loose change rolling around the house. We've checked a number of other apps, PennyOwl really stood out in terms of user-experience and ease of use for the kids - we love it!

Penny Owl is a great app that allows me to keep track of how much allowance my kids earn. I can label what they did and how much they earned. Then come Payday there is no guessing. I have been using this app for a few months and it has been helpful. Also the suggested savings helps my kids get an idea of what to save vs. spend.

Great app! Allowance credits to kids virtual account, kids request amount for spending, account debited on parent approval. Instantly deal with the "I'll pay you back" promises from pre-teens on spontaneous purchases. Used this for a couple of years, good prep for kids to transition to a real bank account with debt card.

I love this app. My kids love it too. The only change that I would consider is making the withdrawal process easier if the spending account is short but the difference is available in the savings.

Great for keeping the kids aware of their money, saving & making smart financial choices. I do wish that there was a a charity/giving option in addition to savings, as this is an important lesson for kids today.

I'm a kid o use money making apps and I use this app to transfer money ey to mms credit card awesome I get ???? but... Can you transfer to bank of America?

Is a great tool to help kids actively manage their own finances and the cost/reward of purchase decisions.

Easy and simple. Kids are appreciating the value of saving money and it makes tracking allowance and gift money easy. Great app.

This is so convenient for keeping track of the kids' money. They can see it from any device, and both of us parents can add or remove money. I don't have to keep small bills on hand for allowances, and it 'feels' like a bank account to the kids, which they like.

I use this to keep track of my kids allowance. It's much better than just giving them the money because then they want to spend it on some they are bored with in 30 mins. This way they can save for something they really want.

I have four kids and we use this app religiously. The kids pay for everything that they buy with their allowance and gift money so this app helps me to keep track of the craziness.

I am not in love with the store option, but I can see why some would like it

I really like that this app helps me be honest with my kids about what I owe them for doing chores! It keeps track of the total, and I can add money at any time. I wish I could subtract money as well without the kids having to request. I usually just end up doing it for them. I also use it to keep track of what they owe me. I do wish, though, that the weekly amount wasn't set. If you don't want to do the preset total, you have to deny the payment and go back and add what you want. I would just like the reminder to pay them.

I've used many of these types of apps and none of them worked quite the way I needed them to or were nearly as easy to use. PennyOwl nailed it!
