Peel Smart Remote (Galaxy Tab)

This was installed without my consent. A blank notification for this appeared today, and when I clicked on it, it eventually booted me to an introductory screen, asking me what PHONE brand I have. I'm on a tablet right now. I understand this is not the fault of the app developers, but the Samsung dev team installing bloatware, to put it bluntly. While I respect the app's intentions and the developers of it, I will be forced to uninstall, if I can, on the premise of unconsentual notifications and poor Samsung dev choices.

This app used to work just fine i. All i would have to do is point it at my tv and tell it my service provider but for somw reason now they have me jumping through needless hoops and haveing me sign in through google. Frankly idk why they need access to my contacts, my youtube account, and my roku, this app is garbage now i cant suggest anyone download it

I hate this app. I didn't install it, I don't want it, I can't uninstall it. I runs automatically and I can't turn it off. And since some update it puts an icon hovering on my home screen, and if I dare touch it covers the whole screen with a modal shade but no further controls. The only way to get out of it is a hard reboot of my phone. So a previously useless app is now a total piece of crap.

This used to be such a great app! I got a new phone and had to reinstall it and now it's littered with worthless ads and only works with the roku or Pronto. Extremely unimpressed

Try to find something useful and friendly. This "free" and included app is clunky at best. They put too much focus on listings with big icons than the actual controls. And my #1 complaint is... an advertisement that springs up and shifts my controls down. The second time it made me click wrong because of the shifting, I quit it.

Used to work before it did a few updates. Now in order for it to pair up with any device i have, i havevto uninstall the app. Then i have to repair it all afterwards. After a few days or so it stops working then i have to redo the whole process.

Can't set up a remote to control any device unless you have Roku or Pronto device. Questionable permissions: Microphone, profile, email, calendar, photos, apps running. Notifications can only be "muted" up to 30 days. Peel, what are you doing? Old Watch On app worked just fine until you got a hold of it. I want that app back.

I came home to a chewed TV remote and already had this app on my phone, now we all use it on our phones and tablet. No more remotes for the dog to demolish

Used to work perfect, since update it wont control the sky box even after entering model number. Avoid this app like the plague as its a complete waste of time.

Such a shame... no problem on my mobile 6 months ago but now sadly it wants robust to set up.... no other options... waste of time there are better apps I've found to do the job!

All of a sudden needs postcodes to set up remote. Worked fine without this information previously. Refuse to release my location details to these apps. They always reply with better performance bull, it's profiling and intrusive. UNINSTALLED.

Changed my phone so reinstalled it and now the latest update won't recognise my postcode and the service provider I'm using. Very disappointed as used it before for a long time and found it incredibly useful. Uninstalling I'm afraid.

Needs wifi to work, used to work great without it before the updates. Forcefully changes screen to horizontal (didnt use to happen before updates). Also added too many adds. Makes me add tv service info even if I don't have one. Used to like the app, now I hate it. Uninstalled.

Recent update added ads. Never had them before, since this came with all my Samsung tablets. Just going to buy a different app for my remote now. I don't mind devs making money, but damn, so long without ads to this? Unhappy.

Froze up my phone upon installation. Dont know how bad it would have progressed to. Best to not install. This is not ready for use, at least not yet.

This app is an excellent IR remote controllers for TV. I love that it has a guide so you can see what is on TV for your local area. However, the banner ads are cumbersome and tend to get in the way. I would gladly pay for an ad free version.

Don't bother if you have an older Philips TV just doesn't work!...just try to input double figures....crap!...now finding support for bush free view box crap, again doesn't work!...it's now crashing when you try to do a search!.....f**k off Samsung! Everything you make is s**t..my tablet is heating up all the time(sound familiar).....could it be the battery?....never by Samsung products again!...oh! By the way have you not heard of tyne tees free view region cos the guide just does not work.....hate!....hate!......hate!....Samsung! ....hope you go bust!....bye!

Kept asking to setup roku or pronto, niether of which do I have. This ap would not give me s remote to work with on my Galaxy tab as listed on the app itself.

Loved this app on a previous phone. Got a new phone and now need to purchase a $50 unit to use this app? No thanks! I'd happily pay for the app. Very disappointing. I used this daily...

I have a galaxy s7. When I had the s6 this app was easy and convenient. Linked up with my sony t.v. in seconds. Now it won't work with my t.v. at all. Ironic that it was more compatible with my older phone. I only have Internet through optimum. Selecting Cablevision as a tv provider. Doesn't work.

Used to be my most favorite app. Bought a new phone and it says not compatabil with out $50 accessory. No thanks. I'll find a new app. Such a shame.

Works great was bummed when my new 200 remote for smart tv with direct bet access to Netflix etc by one icon button shattered and broke. This app saved me 200 and works better.

In Jakarta and Surabaya city using Transvision as tv cable provider . For now, they give us samsung tv box as receiver with HD capabilities. Please update your software. For firstmedia in surabaya using samsung too but i could not use this for it

Wouldn't even let me set it up. I don't have Roku, so I took my ip from my phone. It didn't accept that AND it wouldn't let me continue standard installation, I assume because my smartphone has no ir blaster... still, there was no remote at all for me... only choice was to uninstall and continue using my BROKEN remote control.

The old version worked perfectly. I installed the new version on a new device & can't connect to my TV, home theatre or air on. The new version focuses too much on advertising and has lots the main focus of the app... to be a remote. Pity...I enjoyed using it

It used to be good, no you need roku. To use it, the app is just worthless piece of crap.

"If it ain't broke"... don't get greedy. Got a new tablet and couldn't wait to install. The new version requires additional equipment. I don't née it on my old device. Way to destroy a good app...

i tried to get it recognized, and nothing. I also sent the report to the App people and no answer.

You have to buy Pronto, why don't they just call it Pronto than giving you something that won't work without Pronto.

The app doesn't mention needing an accessory to get it to work what a waste Delete

I used to love this app, now I cannot even get it to connect without a roku.. 1☆ because 0☆ isn't an option. Deleting this app.

Refuses to remember channel number customisations. Waste of time. And forcing notifications to re-enable themselves is a shady, unacceptable tactic.

I can't set up the remote for my smart TV. The app only has Pronto or Roku option.

Now it doesn't even allow you to control the TV! I used to love it but now you need Roku to use it! Bad but could be amazing

Absolute rubbish. This app used to be fine before you people started messing around trying to make it "new" and "fresh" get a grip. Don't fix it if it ain't broke.

This update replaced my original samsung installed app, now I cannot see tomorrows tv schedules, screens are not as shown in this app advertising. Oh yes... advertising revenue. What happened to the old screens/controls? I am so dissapointed I updated this app.

I got a new phone and reinstalled what used to be a great app. It is now useless to me. Not working at all.

This app is no good after they broke it

Downloaded it to my Core Prime and it is only allowing me to set up remotes for roku through wifi. I don't even have a roku. I just wanna set it up for my TV's and DVD players. It won't let me do any of that.

I don't care what time all this junk comes on tv. Give me a channel up and down with a volume control and let me indecisively surf through all the channels. Where is that at. I have a dvr app. I have a channel guide. I just want a remote to use my IR blaster.
