About PEDS OPH
Ophthalmology is covered very inadequately in medical school. And during residencies, eye examination, diagnosis and treatment are given equally poor coverage in the vast majority of programs. If you are a pediatrician, family practitioner or pediatric nurse practitioner, and you feel your knowledge of the eye is not as adequate as you would like, then PEDS OPH is for you. Through multiple modules consisting of text, photos and video(internet access needed), this app goes over the most common eye related topics you will be faced with in your pediatric practice including conditions you MUST NOT MISS and pharmacological recommendations. Topics include examination techniques, strabismus, amblyopia, tearing and tear duct obstructions, corneal abrasions, red reflexes, red eye and conjunctivitis, cellulitis and eyelid swellings, chalazia, blepharitis and blinking. The goal is to increase your skill at the basic eye exam for different age groups and to provide information and the occasional pearl as to diagnosis, treatment and when to refer to the pediatric ophthalmologist. Future, free updates will add modules and new pharmacological recommendations as new medications are added to the market.

For all if us eye/challenged pediatricians this is a terrific app. The photos and videos are excellent. Am encouraging all my residents to use.
