I haven't had issues with the app like most users have, however the content quality seems to have been slacking after having been a reader for the past 3 years. Most if the magazine is IOT focused, with very few articles helpful to PC users. The size and numbers of articles has decreased imensly, (I downloaded an older magazine version for comparison) and it's nearly a fourth of the size of older magazines with articles significantly smaller, with less relevant information. I'd recommend maximum pc instead

This app works like a champ on my Motorola XYBoard tablet. A perfect way to read this magazine. The images are crisp, sharp, and easy to read. I don't know why there are so many negative reviews. The install was easy and flawless.

C70%
by C####:

Useless for tablet & laptop users, because the app refuses to work if you are in horizontal (landscape) mode. You have to try to prop your tablet on end, which is even worse if you have a folding cover or attached keyboard.

Worked fine till marshmello upgrade. Now it downloads 90% of magazine and get mib decompression failed. The app worked with 5.1.1 but not 6.0. Another said he had issues with a game magazine and pcworld digital magazine with 6.0 He contacted the game magazine and they fixed the app to work with 6.0. He contacted pcworld and has heard nothing. It also works fine with my iPad mini. Just the nexus seven (2) I'm having problems

ZERO STARS!! I'd give it a negative number if I could. It is IMPOSSIBLE for any intelligent person to remove an old issue download if you are running short of device memory. IF there is a way to remove extra issues from the app, it is so cryptic, esoteric and concealed that only a very clever and skilled reverse software engineer can discover it. I have searched the net from over 3 hours and only found archiving instructions for the much older app. EDIT 7/24/2015 I have FINALLY found a way to delete old issues. There is a very tiny, near-invisible button on the issues page located just below and left of the current issue icon. I needed a magnifying glass to see the faint one-pixel wide outline of the button; the color contrast against the background made it very hard to locate on a tablet. If you tap the button, it takes you to a page that displays all the issues on the device. Tap each issue you want to remove to select it (you can select more than one) then tap the trashcan icon on the upper right of the page then confirm. The issues page should show the deleted issues with a download button under them instead of read now.

There is something terribly wrong with this PC World app!  I can download the September issue and it goes from article to article but greyed out and no scrolling available.  I can only read the opening of any article and it looks horrible on my HD screen.  I'm in huge agreement with those wanting to give this a negative rating!  What happened?  I used to could enjoy the magazine..  n I want my print copy back.  Fix it ASAP or I want a refund for a year's worth of subscription.   I deleted the app, restarted the tablet and re-downloaded the app from the Google store and still can't get my magazine to show up and be able to read it.   Your count down has begun! Not such Warm Regards, Gwen Beck

I've been using this app since the beginning. I'm now unable to download my unread magazines. I get a "Download Failed" message almost immediately. It makes no difference witch months edition. I deleted several older editions to make sure I have room. I have a good connection. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 running Android 4.2.2 and the app version 5.2.6 build: 8144. I have a couple of years left on my subscription. Don't tell me I can't read on my tablet anymore!

Upgraded to 6.1 and now can't download the issues I've PAID for. Absolutely no support from PCWorld - just gave me a 3rd party email address to send a help request to - just like PCWorld they never responded.

Nexus 7 with Marshmallow 6.01 same old same old. What a waste; total piece of crap. Cleared cache, uninstall/reinstall too many times to count. Results always the same. Developers should be ashamed of themselves.

[See update] Library disappeared, says I need to sign in to convert to new format, but I AM in! Only option is to buy it...AGAIN! I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it, and now I am no longer signed in and did not write down my account number from the long-dead paper mailing lable, so am SOL on that count. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, PCWorld? [Update]: Got my account number by logging on to pcworld website and logging in with my email address and zip code. Reinstalled the app, then signed in. Same problems as before, but at the bottom of My Account page on tablet was a bar that said "Update." Tapping that seemed to do nothing as it then sent me back to the preview and purchase page. But then going to library showed each edition with both a purchase and a download option. Dowmload worked. But I am not changing my rating because of how screwed up and unfriendly this app is.

It won't let me read the issues I've paid for. It won't let me view past issues I've paid for and read. How do I get a refund? I updated to 2 stars. After reading other reviews, I deleted the cache, found my acct number, and was finally able to get my issues. Shouldn't have to go through so much after an update. PC World never responded to my contact about my problems. Customer service? Lack of!

After a few contorsions where I had to sign out and sign back in in order to convert an issue, the "issues" section shows what's available to download. I can download but haven't found out how to delete the issues I read. Samsung Note 10.1 2014.

I installed this app about a year ago, but was unable to get it to work. Then it disappeared from the store, only to reappear recently, even though it claims the same version number. Very strange history, this app has. So I've been using the Zinio app instead. Once I found out this app was available again, I decided to give it another go. The instructions at startup said to touch the "More" button at the top right, but such a button doesn't exist. I finally found the "Account" login by pressing my tablet's "Menu" button (my tablet is a Samsung 10.1 inch Galaxy Tab 3 running Android 4.2.2). Once logged in, I can download any issue. The issue reads only in portrait mode, however, which kind of sucks since my tablet cover only tilts up the device in landscape mode. At least the font is a good size for easy reading. When flipping pages, you must sometimes swipe sideways, and sometimes upward. Swipe sideways at the wrong time and you'll skip the rest of the article. This design is quite odd and takes some getting used to. The Zinio app, even though it doesn't have the "enhanced versions" of the magazine, doesn't impose these same caveats.

I read my digital subscriptions on my Asus TF300T tablet. I rooted it and installed a custom recovery and ROM recently. This is the only app that no longer works. I cannot even input my account number and email to retrieve my subscription. I am now using the print facsimile version through Zinio. Ironic that they call this the enhance edition! This app badly needs an update.

Y70%
by Y####:

Hard to believe they could make an app worse than Zinio. Crashes often. No way to keep the screen from automatically going dark while running this app, so constantly need to be touching screen, which then causes previews at the bottom to appear and disappear. Embarassing for a computer magazine to have such a poorly defined web app.

Y70%
by Y####:

I wasn' thrilled when they decided to go all digital, but I made up my mind to get used to it. I found it unintuitive and inconvenient compared to the print edition. But now, it doesn't work at all. I reinstalled the app and it still will not work. This is a terrible app. Even worse, it is from a company that is supposed to be in the communications business. Don't waste your time, don't waste your money with a subscription. Too bad, because I used to look forward to receiving my magazine every month in the mail. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

I guess i missed the message about them abandoning this app. Always problematic ingetting new issues and always got several errors while reading. Now cannot download. Uninstalled and reinstalled app and no longer see My Account to log in. So it is completely toast. I guess i just cancel subscription and buy a mag that really understands technology.

I am using this app on the Lenovo 10 tablet and it will only open in portrait mode. This defeats the great kickstand on the Lenovo 10 that allows you to read in landscape mode on your desk. Now I must hold the tablet on end just to read the articles. It would be nice if the developers would allow a choice of reading modes. Otherwise a pretty good app.

While most people seem to be have trouble opening up their issues, I have hardly had any trouble with the app at all, and the ui for reading is great. The integrated videos and articles are easy and simple to access, and those make the app better than the print edition for me.
