Fresh Food Deals is an initative that began over 40 years ago by Harry Miriklis.
Harry grew up in Melbourne during a time when fresh, quality produce was abundant and people were spoilt by choice from local butchers, fishmongers and delicatessens. This was an era when quality was chosen over convenience.
As a 4th generation fishmonger by trade and owning multiple businesses throughout Melbourne, Harry has seen significant changes to the way consumers shop for produce. Quality is now not the primary consideration. Convenience now defines the retail landscape. To survive, businesses need foot traffic, and a forum to push their products to their local consumer.
Through facing these challenges himself, Fresh Food Deals was born as his personal passion to assist local produce stores to be the first choice for the local customer. The aim is to make it easy for the customer to know who is in their area, and what specials are available to them.
Harry’s vision is to bring new life into the next generation when it comes to choice, and building traditional relationships again with their local produce retailer.
