Good concept; horrible execution. The Silver Diner (a restaurant chain) is a great place to eat. Their rewards card program offers you a good discount on some meals. This app is supposed to make it easier to use the rewards card - in particular, you don't have to have the physical card with you. However, this app makes it incredibly difficult to create an account. After several attempts I have not been able to do it. (Keep in mind I have been working with computers and programs since the mid-1970's.) * If I try to go back a step to correct an error, it exits and closes without saving anything. * It asks for the user's date of birth. (Reasonable, this is important demographic data for many businesses.) Normally I would expect a set of three selection boxes so I could choose month, day and year. Instead, this app presents a calendar of the current month and year. The ONLY apparent way to select my date of birth is to scroll back, month by month, to get there. I was born in 1949 - I am NOT going to scroll back 812 months to get to my date of birth! When this is fixed I will download an update. Meanwhile I will try to get a physical card and enter it into my Key Ring app.

Really not sure what this app is for, I was hoping that it would allow me to be free of yet another loyalty card taking up space in my wallet but that doesn't seem to be the case. Silver diner seems to be on of the few places that won't accept a telephone as an alternative to swiping the card or allow me to scan a var code from my phone.
