Patreon for Android
Amateur app, but good idea. I didn't like by joining with Facebook only option.
As a creator this app is useless and buggy. I'm unable to access certain features that can be used even from a mobile browser. Recent and sometimes random posts are missing in the app but visible in the browser. I get notifications days late. Messaging/communication with my patrons through the app is a pain. You're better off just using for browser.
From a Patreon creator perspective this app is impractical and useless. Most functionalities aren't accessible and the post editing is criminal. If you need to access Patreon on your smartphone, I recommend doing it through a browser. That way you'll have access to all functionalities just like on computer. It's working pretty fine on the "shiny glasses" navigator for example.
I was hoping to find more artists I like but when I search for stuff in the tabs (eg. Podcast) they only show me three (3!) options. That's nothing. Also I cannot see creators similar to the creators I already follow. How the heck am I supposed to find stuff I like and support?
As a creator, the app is bad. I use it to get notified and to answer comments. Everything else I want to do, I need to open the mobile website, which often has me wait until I'm on desktop. Patreon is big enough now that they should be able to offer a decent app.
This app has about 1/6 the features as the mobile website. I can't connect to my YouTube account or Twitter through the app...at least it's not easily found if I can. Also, browsing is clunky and slow. I'll stick with the mobile website for now.
Needs more features and to be less buggy. Right now it will not refresh how many patrons I have, so I have to log in with a browser to see what rewards I need to do. It also doesn't show account balance or allow for payouts. All in all, it's rather useless.
Use this app to TRY and listen to podcast episodes for patrons. It plays for about 5 minutes before resetting. I then have to force quit the application. Doing this lets me listen to another 5 minutes. This app makes me so angry
While it doesn't look horrible and might be of decent use for someone who exclusively browses content/creators, this app lets you do just about nothing when it comes to being a creator. You can change your profile picture, but not much beyond that. The interface is also the furthest thing from smooth. This review is about the app, not the service.
I was stoked so see there was an app for patreon -now I can easily post stuff whenever. However the features needed to do that are passable at best, and at worst downright impossible to use. This app needs some updating. RIGHT NOW!
Great idea, but still not good enough. As a creator It's very uncomfortable not being able to use all the features that are available in the browser site. Nevertheless it is very useful because I can post my contents without using a PC.
This is sadly the most useless app I have on my phone, while the only use for it is to view posts of artists that I already follow. I can't even list the number of problems this app has.
I love many creator on patreon, but I can't pay them to become a Patron because I don't have PayPal or credit card. I feel unlucky because I life in this country. it's hard to have PayPal or credit card in my country. Please patreon make this app to become a portal to pay creator from googleplay so I can become patron.
I got this app cuz I cannot afford a computer currently so I can only use mobile, but I can't even add rewards/tiers using this app, and it won't let me do it on the site from my phone either so I guess I'm just stuck. Way to make me feel even poorer Patreon :(
This app crashes all the time, you can't listen to a one hour podcast without it dying right in the middle, losing your place, and having to be force closed and restarted. I have an S8, brand new. There's nothing wrong with my phone or data, and reinstalling has done nothing to alleviate the problem. It's easier to hook an RSS feed into one of the many podcast player apps. Uninstalling.
I'd like to see who "likes" my comments. I'd like a notification saying that someone has commented on same post I've commented on. I'd also like to have it refresh upon opening the app instead of having to do it myself and waiting a few minutes for it to refresh.
Causes my galaxy s6 to lag so badly that I have to do a hard reset almost every time I use the app for more than a half hour. I have even tried making sure I have all other apps closed before using and it still happens.
Really would be nice if I could payout and see a balance with this app. I am finding it petty useless. It also has problems updating and notifications simply do not work anymore.
Honestly this app is really lacking. It's a bit ridiculous that you actually get way more functionality by opening Patreon in your mobile browser rather than using the app.
The app sucks, just use the website. The app is clumsy, lacks features, and at times doesn't even work. Like poll's for example; you can't vote. Hitting back doesn't just return you back to your searches it takes you to home.. Just stupid stuff like that
Severely lacks functionality and options that would greatly help people navigate the site. When I click on a tag, and all posts with that tag appear, the "continue reading" function doesn't work and the post doesn't expand.
Like the app but it keeps crashing every 10 to 15 minutes when I listen to podcasts on it. Just have to restart app and it's good for another 10 to 15 minutes. Would be a bug worth fixing tho.
App always log me out. When reading a Post by Creators if scrolling down and touching twice the screen by mistake will make the post collapse. Issues not resolved
Got this app exclusively because mobile website said I wouldn't be able to format my creator posts without it. I can't format on it at all, so it is useless to me.
can you fix your app? i cant reply to anyone or edit my own posts. this needs to be fixed and after it is ill give 5 stars
I open the app once, and now my phone keeps telling me that some process has stopped and I can't call or text anyone because of it.
TLDR: please allow gifs to work in app The app is ok but one of the patreons I follow uses GIFs for his tutorials but the app doesn't even play them making the tutorial completely useless. This really needs fixing because there's no point in using the app at all.
This is a great app, with one huge failure. Having the photo settings be always set to public and then not being able to edit the privacy in photos after they are posted from the app is not good.
Absolutely useless. Photos won't even attach to the posts without crashing the app. What's the point!?
Random log out is unwelcome. Search function is lacking. Needs some serious work.
Some people i patron to post some gifs or other little animations, but the app will only display a still image. I dont really want to have to turn on my computer and boot it all up just to see a 3 second gif on loop.
Frustrating for a creator, won't let me remove reward tiers etc. Would rather do on the browser.
Not letting me post, pressing post does nothing except load and stop and never actually posts my work
I constantly have to re-enter my login credentials after I'm cheerfully told the Patreon app is 'cleaning things up for me'. I'll just stick with the website.
I'm now just trying it, but on the website you can add a picture, but to delete message you have to go to app. This needs alot of updating!!!
Having issues viewing full images, the app will crash. If I try to view full posts that have additional links/pictures posted, the extra images aren't visible.
I like the content I get and the idea of this service. The app itself is bad. The functionality is bad. It doesn't work very well at all.
You should be able to pay using the Google play store, it's extremely frustrating since I do not have a credit card nor a PayPal account
Loading new posts is an exercise in futility. Truly a garbage home page. The service is awesome though

Pretty amazing platform...a few bugs in the app as well as the website need fixing. Its hampering with the UX. Other than that, a wonderful concept.
