PassportParking Mobile Pay for Android
So far so good. Only thing I am not liking is that you can only pay by the hour. I often end up paying for 2 or 3 1/2 hours. If you pay at the pay station it allows you to pay in 15 minute increments. With the app I either risk a ticket or have to overpay by half an hour.
Today the Passport app would not load on my phone or the person who I was with. I use it often so I do not need to carry change. Well today with it not loading I had to risk it. And wouldn't you know it, I got a $15 ticket. Thanks for nothing Passport guys
2 days I tried to buy a spot at North white plains station electric section and was denied saying invalid space try another. I typed the spaces for the entire row and the same thing. When I paid at the ticket machine no problem.
This app is convenient, connected, quick, efficient, and SHORT SIGHTED. I'm not sure if it's the company overall or the lot owner but the maximum stay is 24 hours. Traveling out of town biting my nails worried my car will be towed from three states away. All because I can't extend to the time I know I'll be back. Fix this issue or assure the customer can renew immediately, maybe an intuitive overlap window, and you're golden.
My funded wallet disappeared, and support doesn't provide any assistance. Instead, they just direct me to a parking operator who directs me back to them. Now I'm expected to fund another wallet in a $10 increment to pay for $1.25 worth of parking. If you can avoid using this app, do it!
Pretty good design. The one thing I dislike is the notification sound when parking runs runs out. It sounds like a horn honking, and you're usually driving home when it goes off, which is a bad combination. If they changed that in a future version, it would be perfect.
A nice convenient way to pay for parking without even getting out of my car. It certainly beats sitting in the wind and cold trying to Fumble with a credit card in the middle of winter at an outdoor kiosk
Ok for convenience but boy do I hate that it takes you back into the app and honks at you when your time is about to expire. Maybe just a notification and not changing me to the app just to tell me my parking is going to expire. That would be a lot less intrusive. You can't even stop it. I did talk to their support (who were helpful) and they confirmed that you cannot turn this feature off.
Not certain which party is to blame here, but paying for parking in cash costs me $2, $2.20 with a credit card, and $2.80 using the Passport app. Needless to say, I won't be using the Passport app. If the prices were equal, then I'd use the app for the convenience factor.
Great idea. Terrible execution. Won't allow you extend time before session ends. After ends, have to wait 5 mins to add time. Guess what...just got a ticket in that 5 minute window. PATHETIC!!! AVOID.
I used this app for a few weeks and loved it, until I came back to my truck and found a parking ticket despite being paid up for another 45 minutes. Yeah, I can appeal the fine, but it's a huge hassle for an app I'm paying a "convenience fee" to use. Avoid using this app and pay at the meter. You'll save money and a headache.
Got this app to park my car in a new lot. Expected a terrible, error filled experience. Took 2 minutes to pay for parking. Super easy, didn't have to put in any info twice, sign up was fast. The way software should be
I have to uninstall and reinstall the app every time I need to use it. Either it crashes or has a network problem. Every other app on my device works fine. I'll be asking my village to switch to a different parking app. Using Pixel Android beta.
This app is extremely buggy. Can't get receipts because the app refuses to save my email address. Online website is buggy too. Doesn't remember credit cards on file, which makes it hard to update information. Please fix this.
This app first wouldn't accept the zone number. Then it told me the parking space is not valid. I went to FIVE different spaces and none of them were valid. How is this possible? I hope the facility goes back to Parkmobile. It was far more superior than this thing. It's not worth the frustration level.
Life doesn't stick to a schedule. Things change. It'd be great if this app allowed for those changes. I'd like to see the ability to REDUCE instead of just EXTEND a parking session's duration.
Good app, I am just not sure why they have exactly the same app with different name for towns next to each other. This is very confusing, need 1 app, not 2 not 20, just 1
I like the convenience of this app, but I am wondering why I can't seem to be able to find an icon to put on my phone's main screen. The only way I seem to be able to access the app itself is through opening it in the google playstore. Why?!?!
Always works when I need it too. I figured out though that the parking ticket guys will be alerted or something to check your car if it's expired on the app. I've gotten more tickets after using the app than at the regular meter.
Won't work even when connected to internet. Not great when your in a rush and don't have time to be going back to a meter
This app would not allow me to choose stay. It automatically chose 2 hours. I'm not satisfied with that.
Hasn't worked properly for weeks now. Just errors out any time I open it. All other apps on my phone are working flawlessly.
Pretty easy to deal with but the maximum is only 2 hrs for 3.75! Why not add more hours fpr discounted rates?!? That would've been super awesome
What makes this so so easy to operate is it's retention (cache) of parking locations. The barcode scanner is super, too. Both speed up the transaction process. As my wife searches for quarters at the bottom of her unfathomable purse, I've got max parking dialed in, paid for and DONE. Great app! Bravo!
Buggy and ugly, but it works. However, I would LOVE if Android Pay was accepted in your application. It'd make the app much more secure.
While I hate having to pay for parking every day, this app makes paying SO easy! The only catch is once your time runs out you can't "feed" the meter for 15 minutes, so I set a timer on my phone to remind me when the 15 min is up and just pay again quick. It's super fast, stores my info and works every time so I'm not running out to find quarters every 2 hours during the work day. I saw some people's comments about the app being intrusive because it pops up no matter what your doing on your phone to remind you that your time is about up, but for someone like me who works a 9 hour day downtown I'd be hosed if it didn't do that. It stores my vehicle and CC info so I'm not retyping that every time. I did get a ticket only ONCE after paying. I called however and they withdrew the ticket immediately because I was able to easily prove I had paid it.
I've only been successful using it twice, maybe. More than a dozen times it says I'm not connected to the internet, or an error occurred check your internet connection.
As far as I can tell there isn't a way to utilize your remaining balance as a reload is always required. This would indicate that a few dollars be cannot be spent per wallet/location. Not cool if that is the case.
It simply won't work. I keep getting a network error even though i know my internet is working. I tried on 4G and WiFi to no avail.
So far so good. Happy with it, not everyone carries change anymore and this makes it easier for anyone to use. I will recommend this to all my friends who live in cities where are parking meters! -Fonz
I have received two parking tickets while using this app. The first one the label on the meter was either damaged or smudged making a 6 look like an 8. The next time there was flat out no reason I got a ticket. The time and cost from my work hourly rate it takes to appeal ticket makes any convenience or purpose for this app completely moot. They also provided NO help, nothing, with either ticket. Done with it. Keep quarters in car or use garage. Not worth the trouble of getting a ticket. This company should pay ticket and/or do appeal. Instead they offer no assistance. Notice there is not even a "What to do if I get a ticket" on the apps FAQs.
Absolutely unnecessary for this app to require so many pernissions. Uninstall immediately after every time I use it
You hit the yes button to activate your session and think its good then it reverts back to the activation yes/no and leaves your car unpaid for. I picked up a hefty parking ticket as a result. Thanks a lot!!!
Like they say in the app, nobody likes to pay for parking, but the app makes it simple quick and painless to do. Also very nice it has a stopwatch countdown timer to let you know how much time you have left.
Not worth the effort unless you are a frequent parker. Uses your credit card number as a form of identification, like if you forget your password, not a good idea.
Permissions Blitz I fail to understand why/how so many of the app permissions could possibly be necessary. Some app developers detail rationale for each requested permission. I will not use/install Passport Parking until you can weasel out of my phone or sufficiently explain this abnormality. Additionally, I have paid the "convenience fee" for using the app before, but it seems purely opportunistic considering that the necessity to use your specific service (as opposed to similar others) is made with city governments.
Easy and convenient. The small fee is a value compared to paying tickets when I get stuck in a meeting.
The questions are not for this app. I love this app. Very convenient. I never have to try to remember how much time i have left. It also has an alarm in case i forget to look at my phone.
Does what it is supposed to do, only reason it isn't 5 star review is because right before your parking session is going to expire, it will take you out of your current app and bring to passport. Not a big issue, but extremely annoying.

Seemed easy to use and convenient, but came back to my car to find that I still got a parking ticket even though i still had time left on my meter. Apparently law enforcement is not able to see that you have paid via their mobile device as the app states.
