IP Webcam Pro

Hi Pavel, I really like IP Webcam. It was working very well and then after sometime, it quit working and the issues I've outlined below occurred. I thought that maybe automatic updates had broken it. These issues began to occur: - View Area is already turned on when loading IP Webcam home page. - When turned off, View Area turns itself on with motion. - The shading of the View Area motion appears in the final video. - Most often will not store photos or videos to chosen path. - Looping won't load with the name of its' field in the browser. I have tried both the free and pro version and have the same experience. I have done these things: - Rebooted - Tried a second device - the same model tablet Insignia NS-P16AT785HD -- Android 5.0.2 - Uninstalled and reloaded both versions. - Deleted associated storage folders before re-installing. - Tried three different browsers. - I had NOT loaded other applications prior to IP Webcam failing. - Restarting browsers. - Using different methods in browsers (i.e. flash, javascript, browser, etc…). - Deleting cookies. Do you have any Ideas? Thanks!

Set up Port forwarding in my router and it's working great BUT, I can't get the file uploader to upload anything but useless 0 byte .jpg files.

Ah yep. Found RTSP. Couldn't find HTTP for upploading in scripts. Only FTP and SFTP. Wherencsn I find out info on writing a script? (I'll see if I can make 1 for HTTP)

Very good support, and nice apps :)

Does an ok job. Can see real-time footage and access archived footage with ease. Webm and Mkv support is great. Issues: Interface is dated. Does crash/exit after long periods, usually have to restart the app each morning. Advanced settings set via the webpage are not saved, so I have to change the orientation, quality and photo resolution after every restart. The motion detection settings page tell me motion detection isn't enable when it is. A basic email notification when motion is detected would be appreciated, I don't want to pay for Tasker just to do this. Edit: added 1 star for authors support. Have tried the email plugin, but selecting uploader just gives me a blank dialog. Will contact support.

Couldn't get the uploader plugins to work, so I've knocked off a star.

I loved this app until I bought a HIKVISION NVR and Camera's. Stand alone it works flawlessly with TinyCam Monitor and or a browser. I had two camera's running, one a Samsung S4 Mini, the other a HTC Desire X for about 6 months and they have been fantastic. Unfortunately IP WebCam's MJPEG protocol doesn't appear to be compatible with the HIKVISION NVR so I will most likely have to replace them with more HIKVISION camera's which is disappointing. Thanks to the developer for a great product.

Paul Jeff's review is simply wrong and he doesn't know what he's talking about. He needs to enable port forwarding on his router to view "remotely" when not on his local network. I can view my camera remotely with no issues at all using nothing more than a Chrome browser, my home's WAN address and the port number I configured the camera to listen on. I do not need any additional apps from the developer.

At first I thought this was a great app. Easy to set up and view. However, after a few weeks I've noticed that the camera simply goes off line without anything being done to it. One day I'll log in and find it working, the next day it'll be offline. Very unreliable. Update: for some reason it is no longer "buggy." The app runs without shutting down. Not sure why. Everything is good. Would like to be able to record longer than 30 sec when motion is detected.

Hi. I like the versatility and control features, but the frame rate is choppy and slightly delayed, even at a lower resolution and phone being connected to laptop by USB. I bought the Pro version. Am I overlooking a setting for a smoother motion? My other USB cam doesnt stagger like that. Windows 10 laptop and Samsung Galaxy S7. I have the adapter msi installed on laptop also. Please help, I'd love to love your app rather than just like it

After using the free version, I was happy enough that I wanted to support the developer. I have an old Nexus 7 tablet being used as a IP camera monitor. I wanted to make use of the front camera and found this app. I gave 4 stars coz the interface is not easy to understand and the app needs to be optimised to use fewer resources. Even my S7 Edge was getting really hot and that was 'before' I put the charger on. I hope development of this app doesn't stop. It's clearly useful to a lot of people.

Used the free for a couple of days to find my cat, decided it was worth the $4 & got pro. Dragged out old Motorola phone and Motorola Xoom installed it and found my cat. Recorded more than 8 hours on both, no issues.

For my purposes, I love this app. Was easy enough to set up, with enough settings for my I-gotta-tinker side. I installed it on my day-to-day phone, a retired phone I use for Skype for work, and my oldest working phone just to fiddle with. That said, "my purposes" is the key. Don't really have a Purpose for an IP webcam, so far. Some gee-whiz ideas, but nothing practical. If you wanna play with the IP camera capabilities of last year's phone you replaced, it's great... and now you may have an actual use for that old thing, other than dust collector or drawer filler.

I love the app, and it seems to work well. I figured out that the screen having to be on is a "feature" of Android, and not the fault of IP Webcam. Zoom worked on my HTC Aria, but for some reason it doesn't work on my HTC One m7. The image on the camera screen zooms, but not the video stream coming through the webpage. Probably another issue with Android not working right. Regardless, I love this app.

Bought this app to use old android 4.4 kitkat in motion detect email phone mode only.. App would work great for several hours before crashing. with app not responding error. I completely deleted all other apps on phone to dedicate device to IP Webcam but app still dies after several hours. I finally tried this app on a Samsung Galaxy android 5 phone in motion detect email mode.and this app ran several days before crashing. I am stumped. I turned off motion detection and used as just IP webcam without any problems with my old android phone. ____ Updated I had Tasker restart the IP Webcam server every hour. Works great now.

You really need to fix the server crashing problem. I would like it so when I enable night vision for better motion detection. Than when it detects motion it will disable night vision and then turn on the LED light. After the recorded video has been taken and e-mailed/uploaded. It then returns to night vision mode.

With this we could give the kids (twins) an extra 10mins nap in their car seats as we unpacked the massages. You can't get an app much more useful than that!

To all the people upset that you cant remote into the app: You can forward the port which the server is on through your router and access it externally. Very easy to do, do a quick google search on it.

Turn my old Android into new valuable equipment. Gave 5 stars not meant the app is perfect but 4 is far too low for its quality. If the app provides a feature of setting a lower bitrate for live view while recording with a higher bitrate, to save network bandwidth, would be much better.

I have to agree with the people who give this app 5 stars. It is a great piece of software. It does EXACTLY what it's supposed to do - RELIABLY. One suggested feature: Configurable email notifications. It would be nice to change the subject and body of the messages that it sends.

Hangs alot, restarts my phone due to overheating issues. Now suddenly cannot start. Cannot even download from playstore as it throws error. Wasted money. I have S4 Galaxy old phone.

Dish it won't let me can you see out after I paid for it.. And I am signed into my right Google account on the right Play Google Play account.. And you're freaking out socks off and it doesn't ever freaking work more than 90% of the time ever... anybody who wants this I know for the free one you might stand a chance.. I try and reach out to these developers would NEVER help me back!!!!!!!

I have used this software for a very long time and continue to do so. It does exactly everything it says (if you're wise to the machanics of it). Simple interface.

This app works perfect on my phones. All connect through a proxy to allow multiple cameras behind a single port. Please don't down rate this app just because you have not setup your network correctly!

I don't know how the idiots even get to the review but i been using this app for 3 plus years . And i love it. And the programers. Keep up the awesome upgrades.

very useful app! kid monitoring, house security ..... motion detection recording is very useful too however very important buffering feature is missing. when motion detection is on and camera detects motion in video you will see only the tail of the object which triggered the recording. So please consider adding a configurable length constant buffering/recording which will be added to a video (or even stored as a separate file). This way users would be able to see how object appeared in camera view and not only see how it's left :)

I was looking for an inexpensive security camera and found out I could use my old phone and this app to create my own IP camera. I get a great picture and can view the feed from anywhere, just through the browser or an app.

Very good app but the wireless performance is not enough for, lets say, quality streaming, would be awesome to see an USB connection method. Keep it up guys!

Using the app on two of my old Android phones via my home Wifi to provide security feeds (and motion detection). Awesome use of old phones, and when configured to start on boot with no lockscreen, it's just set and forget.

This is a fun app to play around with. Turned my old android phones into ip web camera! awesome

The app is great. I have a question, is there anway to adjust zoom? .. the reason I ask is that I have an LG V20 and it has a secondary wide angle camera on the back and I am not sure how to access it in IPWebcam. Otherwise, I love the app it's the only app I can find that has proper infinity focus mode.

I tried several apps and this is by far the best one out there. Very happy with my purchase. Is there a way through the cheats to have the camera take more than one picture when motion triggered?

This app is nice as a concept but it does not work as a real solution. Please refund me. It stops broadcasting randomly or it pops on the screen for no reason. Bloody rubbish paid for this only to find its been rigged so you can't remote access the stream unless you use there apps!! When I bought this it said remote access is possible!!!

This app is a piece of junk! When it does work you can't be more than 30 feet away. Why would you need it then?!?! Don't waste your money!!

This app works great. I managed to setup the ftp plugin to get the videos uploaded to. It was uploading but now it stopped uploading. Is there a way to activate the upload plugin?

So I've played with the night vision a bit but I honestly can't tell much of a difference. Maybe I'm doing it wrong and also can you put this app for Windows laptop.

Love the app. Can you support wide-angle lens. I have a g5 that I'm using and would love to use the wide angle. Thanks
