La Civiltà Cattolica

La Civiltà Cattolica è la più antica di tutte le riviste italiane ancora attive. E' stata fondata a Napoli e il primo numero è stato stampato il 6 aprile 1850. I suoi redattori sin dalla fondazione sono tutti gesuiti.
La Civiltà Cattolica è aperta a tutti i settori culturali: dalla storia alla sociologia, dall’economia alla politica, dalla cultura digitale alla letteratura, dalle scienze al cinema. dalla teologia alla filosofia. E' attenta al mondo contemporaneo come anche a una lettura dei grandi eventi del passato.
Sin dall’editoriale del primo fascicolo del 1850 ha interpretato così la propria «cattolicità»: «Una Civiltà cattolica non sarebbe cattolica, cioè universale, se non potesse comporsi con qualunque forma di cosa pubblica». E’ questo dunque lo spirito della rivista: comprendere come essere cattolici oggi significhi anche essere aperti al mondo, alle culture e a ogni dimensione pubblica. La Civiltà Cattolica conserva invariato il suo particolare rapporto di sintonia con la Santa Sede, che fa parte della sua identità.
La rivista esce il primo e il terzo sabato del mese (24 quaderni l’anno per complessive 2.500 pagine).
