About True Silence v2

Many manufacturers do not allow this with all volume streams and many other applications will only let you set one at a time. True Silence is the only one tap solution to the problem! It also remembers and restores your previous volume levels on a second tap.

True Silence is lightweight, open source, and requires no permissions to run. It is also ad free! Please see the website if you would like to give feedback or contribute in any way.

Other programs can always 'unsilence' you. This version has a setting that will allow True Silence to check and re-silence the device periodically.

*This version is not compatible with versions of android older than 3 (Honeycomb). There is another version that will support older devices: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.panic

A fantastic app which I use nearly every single day. Unfortunately however, it has an annoying bug which has been there for over a year now. Whenever you disable True Silence, it restores all volume settings EXCEPT the "Notifications" volume. Which means all SMS and app alerts stay muted unless you manually change the volume yourself (press phone volume button, then press icon on the screen to the right of the volume bar). I've emailed the developer about this but I suspect he has been too busy to fix it. Edit 2017: I now just do it all manually. Set volume to vibrate, press volume scroll down and mute Media. Bit more work but more reliable than an app.

As others point out notifications aren't restored. Otherwise great.

Total silence is bliss. Thank you for making this. +1 for being ad free.. -2 for not remembering to reset Notification sound setting after clicking off …I've missed a ton of incoming messages because of this. Just remember after turning off, check that sounds are restored using your volume up physical device button. This app is not updated

I use to like this widget but twice I've had to reinstall because the shortcut button no longer works and is non-responsive when you tap it. I'll try something else.

Do not download on droid turbo. You will regret it. Causes slow startup, very slow.

As Matt said, notification volume is not restored. I've used this app every day for years, but still miss texts or whatnot because I forget to manually raise the notification volume after unmuting. However, I'm confident that my phone isn't going to start blaring out at inopportune moments, so it does the job perfectly in that direction.

I've used True Silence on three phones now, over at least six years. Now I've been forced to download another much larger widget since this app no longer resets the alarm and notifications volumes to their original levels when it is turned off. I can't let the need to have silence in a movie make me miss texts for an hour after when I forget to double check it. Fix it, and I'll give full stars. Phone is a Droid Turbo, running stock KitKat, with Go Launcher Z, no root or other system mods.
