Panasonic TV Remote 2

Takes a bit of practice bjt there are a few practical features. Can't get it to work with the tv in standby so I wonder how I should be able to programme or watch tv while away (tv anywhere). And ... how to close down the app without force shutting it down???? No use for it to run in the background all the time.

You can't rotate videos so if theyre shot vertically they play sideways. The app is ugly and the swipe up to send to TV feature is fiddly and pointless, just give us a button please. I also can't get that feature to work on the browser so I can use that part of the app.

The App. contains a Keyboard function, that supposedly lets you type and send text to your TV; OK, I typed the text with an open webpage on the screen, only to find that there ISN'T a Submit button, which renders the App. pretty much useless for me! Also, it won't work to share open webpages to the TV, either. The download is different to the one shown here...features missing! Uninstalled!

This is a really good smart app... But having some issues... You cannot run this app on background.. And u need to keep your screen awake... And takes time to photo to load... And not all formats of videos are detected in swipe and share..... Other than this it's just perfect as you think

PanasonicSmartveira ET5. I using Samsung Galaxy S6 edge plus. When open the Web Browser the pages cannot be shared with the screen. The other videos and images can be shared but not the web pages. Earlier it worked perfectly but after your lastest update it didn't work. PLEASE SOLVE THIS. IF SOLVED I WILL FIVE 5 STARS !!!

I really like the app as it offers some features to generic Android devices which no other TV manufacturer can offer like remote control of your TV, streaming of TV programs (huge win!). Naturally, you need a corresponding Panasonic TV for this. However, the streaming of TV programs sometimes crashes without a visible reason. Feature request: is there a change to offer macros? I would like to switch off the display (but not the TV itself so that I can hear sound) with one click, but right now I have to perform several steps to do that.

Most functions work. Love the flick to play content. Although some video files weren't supported which were recorded on same phone as others that play. If panasonic supported my tv for built in internet apps id start loving my tv again. But guess they want me to buy a newer model.

No browser on 40c300b. Have done internet checks, connected via cable and tv shows on router, also tv reports connection speed. App tells me no devices and both must be on same network, even though tv and router show connection. Watched all sorts of videos and read forums and am frankly jealous that everything, even dating back to 2011, show them using a nifty GUI that's unobtainable to me :'(

I love this app it's awesome. No more lost your remote down the back of the settee but the icon is just ugly. Please change it so I am proud to have it on my phone and maybe give it a new name.

All of Panasonic's apps seem to be very badly designed and a disappointment to use. I'm really happy with my TV but the app looks like it was designed 5 years ago.

Bad to say, Panasonic is failing bad on the SMART... My tv can't be found, casting is quite hard despite a 360 Mb broadband connection... Tryed both lan and wireless

Wanted something to do remote functions. But this useless app requires you to turn your TV on before it works....so you already have your remote to hand.... waste of time.

They could fit all the controls on one screen, like...a... remote. Would be good if it had a tapable epg instead of wasting development time on a browser that no one will use.

It works as a replacement for your handheld remote. I can't get the keyboard to send characters to my TV so logging into smart TV services and using search features is too painful to be useful.

What's the use if I can't use this app to turn the darn thing on??? It has a power off function.

Well pretty basic app... For those figuring how to share stuff to screen, just hold your finger on screen and drag towards the top once the TV icon appears on the top. Hope it helps :)

Exchange of keywords between tv and app is not done here...we can't able to write in YouTube search by using keypad of app... disappointing frm app

I use this on my Panasonic ET5 television, and it works great. The "flick" motion of the Swipe & Share facility isn't all that intuitive, but I got used to it. My main gripe is that there is very limited support for my DV-R, which is a Panasonic DMR-EH68 connected to the ET5 with VieraLink as well. I even searched the Play Store for a separate app to control that device. Sure, the ET5 has its own record and playback facilities, but I haven't yet found a storage media which works with it (neither USB device nor SD card). My EH68 is my go-to for recording TV shows, but I wish it was as easy to control with an app such as this one. I can view and edit the EH68's programme schedule from this app, but I cannot view my list of recorded shows from it. If it had more integration with the DV-R, this would be a perfect app. Right now it is great, but not quite perfect, for me. Adding the function to turn the TV on from standby would also be a good move, as others here have pointed out. Why have a fancy remote control app when we're still forced to keep the old-fashioned remote close at hand, just to turn the TV on initially?

Tcp50g20 is connecte to lan throught router and completed software update successfully from the internet... but this app fails to locate my tv. Epic fail panasonic. ..

Maybe I'm missing something, but the apparent lack of a function to actually switch the TV on from standby is quite astonishing.

Panasonic can do a great deal better than this. Interface is clunky and the app often does not connect to my new TX-50DX750B. Even when it does the functionality is limited. C'mon Panasonic!

Its should also have mirroring function.I am unable to use mirroring function in my phone samsung galaxy A5 2016 with my Panasonic THCX700D model.

I have TH-40DS500D model. I could not able to read mkv file and to upload in my TV using this app . But service man saying it ll support for mkv file. Please help..

In demo mode it's showing mkv or avi movies in swipe and share option. But once I connect to tv by device selection , it is not showing mkv or avi format movie... and you guys should make screen mirroring apps..

Most of the formats not supported... Not user friendly, can't use keyboard for search in you tube or web pages... Clearly designed just for the name smart tv... hey this also the smart tv...

text input doesn't work, can't send webpage on app browser to tv. it would be really nice if everything worked. works great as a remote!

Lost my remote somewhere and have been using this instead. It's nearly perfect, just need to be able to turn the tv on. Most good phones have IR blasters, can you please add an option to use this to switch tv on?

Like other comments it seems a good app but my main aim is to be able to switch on from my phone rather than search for the remotes- other apps can cover all my audio/TV so this will be u installed.

Not all videos are playing. Few videos formats only playing. It would be great if you upgrade it to play any video format file.

Awkward to use as a replacement for Panasonic remote. For example, to change the picture mode I have to (1) Select remote function. (2) swipe left twice to get to the page with the menu icon. (3) tap the menu icon (4) swipe right once t to get to the page with arrow, OK and Exit (X) keys (5) use the arrow keys and the ok button like I would on the physical remote (6) Tap the Exit key to leave the TV's menu system ......This is pretty awkward. The menu button, arrow keys, OK button and Exit button should all be on same page.

Lets me control my tv fine but when I try to swipe and share the phone hangs as it tries to access my storage. Have to restart my phone to correct the issue

The update hasn't improved the app. I can't type on YouTube using the app keyboard as I used to do before :(

I wanted to share media files stored on my SD card but it only has internal memory access. Waste of bits.

All I wanted was a remote for my Panasonic TV and this app didn't even recognise my VIERA. IT'S NOT A REMOTE CONTROL. It needs LAN or WLAN whatever they are so don't bother.

Where the second version cannot find the tv 55dx_600 --- panasonic has fixed the problem good to see they listen to their users ☺ now to fix the keyboard text transmit issue when using qwerty on the phone apart from that its great

In video not support all files and search option not available too much confusion for searching file, if search option available than better 1 star more Need to improve very much.

I had it before and it worked now it just takes me straight off fix it please really need it
