Panasonic Image App

On OnePlus 3T connects to VXF999, but after 10 seconds loses the connection. Works fine with an older Nexus 5. The app is very cumbersome to use. Would be cool if they release the API so 3rd party devs can make something useful, which is not the same thing for everybody.

I love my Lumix cameras and Panasonic but this app drives me nuts. Connecting to it is laggy, the interface is ugly and confusing, it won't let me transfer RAW photos or AVCHD videos to my phone. And recently, it just refuses to connect with my GM1. Panasonic, please fix this! Edit 26-04-2017: updated app today. Now connects to GM1 for about 30 seconds and then disconnects. Unbelievable.

App was very good on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4... however on the new Galaxy S8 the Wi-Fi direct transfer seems to be way more unstable and connection to my camera (Lumix GX8) seems to drop fairly often. 2 stars until this issue is addressed with an update.

UPDATE 2 11/14/15: I believe I have found a fix for devices running Marshmallow. Video of this fix is on YouTube, search for "FIX Panasonic Image App on Android Marshmallow" .... UPDATE 1: The new update v1.9.7 says it has compatibility with Marshmallow and yet it still cannot be paired with the Nexus 6. ORIGINAL: Can't get it to pair with my Nexus 6 on Marshmallow. My Nexus 4 on Lollipop works fine. I just bought this camera with high hopes that I could use my Nexus 6 as a companion. Very disappointing.

I'm very upset cause this app can't connect LX 100 to my Nexus 6(version 7.1.1), even it updated today. It works fine with iPhone, so why can't it work fine with Android? really sucks :(

Fix the ux for NFC on this and it will get 5 stars. Absolute nightmare trying to use this for NFC transfer with a Panasonic gx 8. What should take 5 minutes takes 45 and numerous airplane mode switching. Ridiculous.

The application is mediocre by all standards. The response is laggy. The whole layout and button organization and interaction is very poorly organized. You need to make a lot of clicks to adjust simple settings. There is no full-screen mode. So it is useless to have a large-screen field monitor. There are no advanced features like pull-focus between preset points features; I honestly don't know why would you use this app to interact with the camera. In all usually the smartphone allows better and faster interaction with the device, but in this case there is absolutely no benefit in using the app.

Update 4/24/2017: It works on my Google Pixel phone now! It didn't work consistently until an update that happened a couple weeks back. Seems to work with all my Lumix cameras so happy about that. The interface has improved too with smother graphics. From previous reviews which no longer applies: Tried connecting my HTC 10 with my new G85 and doesn't work. Even with latest app update release on 10/4/2016, I still cannot connect my G7, GX85, G85 nor GX8 on my HTC 10. I've tried all methods. All four cameras easily connect to a Samsung tablet, BTW.

I was able to transfer photos from camera to my samsung s6 via wifi direct until the most recent update. Now it doesnt work and i cannot transfer files to phone wirelessly. Pretty upset about this.

Utterly useless. Doesn't connect to my brand new gx80, using a Oneplus One. Thanks a lot Panasonic.

Unless constantly crashes and cannot transfer photos as it claims. Really frustrating

Multiple people complained about not having full screen. New update and still no full screen option. WTF Panasonic? Do you not value your customers?

After about half a year, compatibility with the Moto Z Force seems to be fine. The UI could still use a facelift. And some functions aren't clear as to what they do until you tap it.

Would be perfect if there would be a chance to set the transfer directory to the sd-card. I remember that once this was possible but nowadays ...

I have not been able to connect with my Pixel but will try again post updates. I am also disappointed I cannot connect with my Surface book. Maybe soon.

Lame. improvements needed ASAP. No full screen viewer option, which sucks, all other apps have it. No linear zoom - only buttons which make the zoom move in jumps. Quite laggy.

I like the app and how it works. But since I got a new phone (OnePlus 3) it just can't connect anymore.. Works perfectly with my wife's LG phone. Please fix it!

Ok features but for some reason it is huge battery drain on my LG G5 (Android 7.0). Without geotagging.

Won't transfer videos from my GX85 to my Pixel. Says videos are incompatible with my device. This is wrong, please fix.

Used to be a wonderful and easy to use app, but definitely need some updates now. I can no longer use the wifi function to transfer my photos to my HTC 10

I'm very happy with this app, very easy to use, connected to my lumix g7 and within minutes all my videos and photos were on my phone. Easy to maneuver, even for beginners. Thanks!

If they update this app to make a full screen function and keep the focus peaking colors while recording, this would be a much better app and I'd give it 5 stars

£600 camera too use with a 50p app .useless

I am satisfied with this,but unfortunately this month of 15th onwards it's not connecting with camera.really upset.what to do now......Can u pl put this app updated version.....

It constantly shuts down just after opening on android 7.0

Seems to work well with the Panasonic g7. Wish it allowed you to do more in regard to camera features though, specifically like controlling iso and aperture.

Please add fullscreen option!

It works fantastic on my FZ300 with my Galaxy A5 phone.. better than the Nikon app for my nikon

Works okay in the house, but very difficult to us out and about. Geotaggingi is still a mystery. It just doesn't seem to work. I thought the camera and phone would connect automatically as I took photos, but instead it seems to be a long winded process. I like the remote function though.

This new version will not boot up on Samsung S3 mini. Previous versions worked. Tried uninstall and reinstall but still will not start.UPDATE 5 April 2017: new version today appears to now boot up. Not sure if batch geo-tag will now work as it didn't before! I will edit this if tests over the next few days are positive.

I think it's brilliant. Not perfect mind you, hence only 4 stars. It needs to become a teeny bit more intuitive and I'd like a bit more wifi range, but it's a great start! I use it with two G6s, one w 1.7 20mm, one w 45-200mm.

Is fine when it works!! Constantly crashing and freezing. Playback of video is very jumpy and keeps going in slow motion. Camera needs to be right next to phone otherwise wifi signal lost

Well I think someone should inform the designer of this app that these days we have smart phones and they can have programs playing any kind of files. But no panasonic makes an app which tells me I can't transfer videos to my phone because they not compatible. Your designers should replace their flip phones and write a program for 2017 this app is garbage
