How does blue light damage the eyes?
The cornea, situated at the front of the eye, is a transparent cover that protects your iris, pupil, and anterior chamber. Light passes through the cornea and pupil before the crystalline lens focuses it on the retina.
High-energy blue-violet light in the narrow 415nm (violet) to 455nm (blue) is particularly damaging to eyes, in particular the lens and retina. Red and green rays are lower energy whale blue band of the light spectrum yields more energy and can pass straight through your eye – resulting in myopia (near-sightedness) and macular degeneration.
Blue light from LCD/OLED displays may cause eye damage, strains, headaches, and sleep disorders. Children are more susceptible to eye damage because their crystalline lens is less effective in filtering out blue-light, adding to the risk of age-related macular degeneration.
Scientific Research Findings
Blue light suppresses the production of melatonin, the hormone responsible for regulating wake and sleep cycles, leading to longer wake times, and sometimes insomnia.
Affects blood and temperature regulation, as well as your blood sugar levels.
Affect people's moods, depending on their personality, and is sometimes linked to depression.
High exposure is linked to retinal toxicity, leading to irreversible damage to the eyes' retina and cornea.
Results in higher rates of cataracts and macular degeneration.

Lovely mini size 55KB apps, simple IU, completely functional with timer. Truly no ads, unlike most apps make false claim by using admob, google ads, campaign tracking, amazon ads, facebook ads all tracking you quietly by sending your private data unknowingly. Improve UI with only 80KB, 6★, now the widget is usable, not so glaring. Pls provide natural filter like the one in another Bluelight Filter apps, very soothing, then 7★. Original icon of phone wearing sunglass look cool, why change? Back to 5★. Thank you.

I love this app for filtering out electronic blue light. I have it turned on all hours of the day. The dashboard takes just a moment to adapt to, but after that this app works like a charm. The only reason I didnt give it a 5 star rating was because of the lack of ease of the dashboard, which the authors attempted to clear up with this last update. However, in spite of this teensy dashboard problem, this app is killer. Whenever I have to turn off the app for even a moment & that awful blue light comes on, my eyes really bother me & I've now turned on the "night light" on my laptop. This iBlue app really blocks all the blue light & I've noticed I'm sleeping better. YAAAY! Go iBlue!! Thanks

Just dropped it from 5 to 3 stars b/c lately it's been crashing frequently.

It's effective when it stays on, but infuriatingly constantly turns itself off. I hid the widget to be sure it was not me accidentally toggling it, but that didn't help. Also widget disappears on its own, even while supposed to be shown.
