Ozeki Android SMPP SMS Gateway Lite can be used to turn your android mobile phone into an SMS gateway. It can accept connections from PC based SMS applications over wifi and can send messages to the mobile network.
PC based SMS applications, such as the Ozeki NG SMS Gateway (http://www.ozekisms.com), can connect to this Android SMPP SMS Gateway using the Short Message Peer to Peer protocol (SMPP).
This Android SMPP SMS Gateway can be used to replace conventional GSM modems. Since it uses the same porotocol (SMPP), that is used by mobile network operators to exchange SMS traffic, we can say it turns your smartphone into an SMS Service Provider.
This Android SMPP SMS Gateway supports standard, unicode and multipart SMS messages. It also handles SMS delivery reports and can be used for both sending and receiving SMS messages.

This is the Lite edition. It can be used free of charge. It will append a short promo text to the end of each SMS. To get rid of the promo text, please upgrade to Ozeki Android SMS Gateway Full edition.

Msgs recieved, read: "$40 credit transfer . successful your acc balance is now $14.43." It said the same thing each time and didn't even save to my inbox. To add to my misery the content of the notification and the content of the actual SMS were completely different.

Great app, but Ozeki NG sms gateway already costs a retarded price, then to charge over $100 for the andriod app per phone is ridiculous. Lets see if I can find a crack... checking youtube

Easy to setup and use, works well on Samsung Galaxy S2, doing what I read about it. I have tried it and now I use it instead of my modem.

App works great... Just need some fine tuning like option to remove sent and received messages from phone once processed... UPDATE.. installed on another smaller screened phone and you now can't read the password... Easy fixed... BUT makes software on smaller screens un-usable... UPDATE: OZEKI have added the option to remove outgoing SMS once the server has processed it BUT still not removing the incoming SMS after processing. So I still get told I have a message waiting for me. So after a days use I'll have hundreds of messages sitting in my phone unread that I don't want to know about. I suggest having 2 options. Remove Sent Sms and Remove Rec Sms . That way users can pick themselves.. Have not been able to test password on smaller screen though. But I for one will purchase this program as soon as I get a spare phone to use it on.
