LibraryThingScanner for Android
Loads CVS pharmacy app on any bar code. CORRECTION: The first time i installed it, it tried to scan and kept opening CVS app. I uninstalled and reinstalled and this time it told me i had to download a sister app barcode scanner. Once i did that it worked easily and accurately. Both are free so who can complain.
It does what I need it to do, in that it finds the DDS number by scanning the barcode. Unfortunately the process requires so many steps and the Library Thing website is so mobiles unfriendly that it's practically unusable as a tool for organising books.
Does exactly what it says on the tin. Read the instructions! Provides a simple interface to the Librarything web UI. Saved me a lot of time and effort.
I'm quite surprised to see so many reviews that claim typing in ISBN numbers would be faster. On my Samsung Galaxy 6 using my home WiFi, the app speeds through 7-10 books a minute. Once I got in a groove, my entire library was entered in one sitting.
1-Doesn`t allow to choose sources... so, I can`t add any of my japanese books, 2- Doesn`t allow bulk ISBN Scan. just one by one. 3- Doesn`t save scanned ISBNs to file (txt, etc) 4- LT was updated recently so that bulk import can search in all sources at once.. but this feature isn`t available in this app yet.. it searches in a specific source (may be library of congress or amazon uk??) that is sueful only for english books!
Is it just me, or this so doesn't work with Nexus 5 and lay Android version? I press "Scan" and nothing happens.

Don't waste your time. Can't read the books I scanned. I'm uninstalling this one.
I was able to catalog well over 100 books in just a few hours.
In the last few of days I've used this app to enter a couple dozen paperbacks. It has worked flawlessly and quickly. The only caveat is that older books have bar code numbers that don't match their ISBNs. Also I haven't been particular about the edition, so I can't comment on that. Using a Google Nexus 10.
This app in combination with my scanner and browser let me enter roughly a book a minute (take book from shelf, scan code, search, select, replace book). Only downside is the power consumption. Phone charge was 70% when I started an 12% when I finished 90 minutes later. But that's not really the app's fault since it's just being a go-between the camera/scanner and browser.
Meh :-)
I so wanted to like this app, but it can't scan. It freezes and closes the app every time I click the scan button.
Does not find many of my books. I don't see the point.uninstalling...
having to enter in your password for your account all the time is annoying I uninstalled it...
Works consistently well for me.
No point to this. Just use the custom url feature in your barcode scanner.
Scans barcodes incorrectly when barcode scanner scan perfectly. Motorola Droid 2 Global
Isn't integrated to library thing and takes too much time to add books
Does the one thing that it does quite well.
Did not like that in order to use it, I was prompted to install an additional app to scan products.
Works well on Galaxy Tab. Handy assistant in libraries and bookshops.
Scanner works well, but the website interface is hard to use on the phone. Not good for multiple books.
Obviously this app is only useful for one thing, but it does that very well.
scans them in.
Didn't pull up books
Works rather well given limitations LT have to deal with...
The web interface is still too clunky on mobile. Avoiding punching in an ISBN doesn't make it much easier.
Asks to download some other scanner. The only thing this app does is open Librarything url in browser. Completely useless app!
No API to LibraryThing. Integration is very poor. Scanner interface also is not useful. Why show the same load page with button press every time the app loads?
Took forever to enter just 3 books into my library. Brought my phone to a virtual stop while doing it. Could have entered 10 books manually by ISBN in the same time. Can't recommend.
I just started using this with my smartphone to efficiently enter titles. Even if the barcode doesn't scan properly I can still key in the ISBN. I really appreciate being able to get the basics entered while being AWAY FROM the desktop computer.
Just added 10 books in less than 2 min!
Works well, but it's faster to open LT web page myself & type ISBN. Definitely useless for scanning multiple books. DROID2
I've had a librarything account for years but never catalogued all my books because it was too cumbersome. This makes it much easier. Works fine with my phone.
Does exactly what it says on the tin. Read the instructions! Provides a simple interface to the Librarything web UI. Saved me a lot of time and effort. Only gripe is that the camera focus sometimes struggles, but moving the phone up and down a bit usually solves it. (Galaxy Tab P1000).
Doesn't seem to work on older books, but so far none if the other bar code readers I've tried do either. Works great on newer books.
Works very well for new books, and okay for old ones. A great time-saver.
I just used this application to add a few books to my library and it worked exactly as advertised.

This requires you to download a scanner app that requires invasive unneeded permissions, like tracking you browser and device history and access to your contacts. Didn't even bother. Uninstalled.
