Fails to connect, drops the connection and even when connected doesn't actually do anything much. The live mode occasionally appears to affect the brightness but not in any consistent manner. The headtorch itself is grand, it is just the app that is useless.

I have the same comments/concerns as most of the terrible reviews on here. I turn on Bluetooth with my phone, it shows my specific lamp, but does not want to sync at all. It searches, and searches.........and searches, then, tells me again to turn on my lamp. I really hope that Petzl doesn't hire the same company that makes this app to start making their 'highly-regarded' products. If they do, I can only imagine the quality of their climbing helmets. A bird turd would be able to penetrate it.

This app is buggy, which given that it is potentially used in extreme conditions is terrifying. Problems I had: (a) when editing profiles the comst/react selecter disappeared, (b) when modifying the slider would start at random place and often the visial representation of the beam dod not match, (c) when creating own profile adding/removing level is not always saved, (d) the available modes (e.g. mountaineering) disappear when modifying own profile and (e) the app forgot my pairing and I had to add my Nao+ again. I use a Galaxy S5, so fairly recent. It took me 2h in a hut to set up my own profile!!!

Really nice .. the concept but It never worked.. Unable to pair the device with the app. Even if my Bluetooth find it. Useless

Works fine for now, but the app needs a lot of improvement. Its crazy slow and somtimes it won't connect. The lamp itself is awesome!

As everybody says, useless. Failed to connect to the headtorch. Almost successful, then lost connection. Does not work

Great light, shame the software is so dreadfull. Absolutely will not connect, and I am not going to waste any more time on it. What is the point Petzl??

HTC desire 530 Android 6.0.1 - Reactik + working a lot better now will keep updating review as appropriate gets updates. Bluetooth works almost flawlessly, NOW! Live update works when it decides. Everything else is working well. Can offer copy of rom/firmware if necessary.

Unstable connection, seems to work only by incident.

Great idea, nice interface, but doesn't really do much. Some key touches don't respond, seems slow when it does work.

Somehow it got worse. Previously it would connect to the light and not really do much else. Now it won't even pair. Or at least that's what it said before sort of indicating it might be connected, but says my light has over 300 charge cycles (I've only charged it once). Profoundly broken UX.

For a world class successful company as PETZL it is big shame to publish program with this level of poor programming. Program itself just devalues the lamp. If this app would be at least half good as the lamp itself, it should be rated with a minimum score of 4. There are major buggy issues with bluetooth communication, so please correct/fix bluetooth libraries thoroughly.

The most recent update is great. I still had to uninstall the app, and reinstall to get the profiles to update properly. The my profile and editing existing profiles worked perfectly, if you have issues try restoring the lamp to it's defaults as I did that first. Only issue I found is that the profiles change their order based on lamp burn time from the most to least available burn time when I care more about their position on the lamp button presses. This only effected my reactive settings as my steady or constant profiles were from dimmest to brightest. App hasn't crashed at all so far. When connecting to the lamp after powering off I had to go into Bluetooth and forget the lamp and add it again before it would add through the app again, but I'm not using the live mode so I don't care about that so much

I was skeptical after reading so many bad reviews. But i can change the output to suit my needs, load the profile onto the torch, disconnect bluetooth so it doesn't affect phone battery. Monitor torch battery for peace of mind. It works for me and it makes a great torch even better.

worst app that i ever used, i am using it still because there is no alternative. it don't work on lenovo yoga6000p tablet, it don't work on elephone p5000(both MTK chipsets), fortunately it works on my girlfriend HTC device so i SOMEHOW managed to customize my brand new reactik+ . Even on htc android phone app is Extremely BUGGY,sos mode itself confuse lamp, its hard to connect, live mode works occasionally. Please fix numerous bugs and fix it to work on MTK chipsets.

Used to be buggy, but now it is broken. First connection: light flickers, then turns very dim. App refuses to connect with NAO+. Asked to restart connection procedure. Light is permanently dim. Then tried Factory default on NAO+. Came back to life. Then tried uninstalling app/reinstall. Still won't connect. Tested with: Nexus 7, Sony Xperia Z5.

This won't work with my galaxy after first connection. I can get it to connect to my son's iPhone but doesnt work with my phone. My phone works with other software and devices. (update: I emailed support and they were super responsive - replied within an hour- and super helpful, so I have updated my review accordingly. For anyone who has same problem, I had to unpair on the phone and then re-pair.)

Okay, so here comes. I despise the app. It's completely worthless (using it with NAO +). For starters, it's worse than PetzlOS that I used with the previous NAO. How the f*ck can a new product be worse than an old one? –It's hard to pair. Sometimes it doesn't find the headlamp at all and both require a few restarts. –It's overly complicated to navigate. You need to go through so many sub-menues that you get lost. And it doesn't say where you are. E.g., "Profiles, Reactive, Level 1'. This would be helpful. – On the computer programme you could set both short-- and farreaching light. Now you can only set far-distance. Why? – Making your own profiles, you're stuck with the pre-programmed templates. –Using the live-feature is massively delayed, and takes time leaving. – Loading a profile doesn't always work, and it's unnecessary many steps. –Everything is unnecessary many steps to do. –Changing name on the lamp doesn't seem to be accepted, unless you do so FIVE times or more. – Changing the read light setting IS IN FRENCH? WHY THE F*CK? Oh, and also, when you turn it off, it doesn't really show. Perhaps a red circle BEING CROSSED OVER? And much more but I've run out of comment spac

Doesn't pair very well, spent about 10 minutes trying to pair this morning then gave up. Wish I'd of just bought the non Bluetooth version and wouldn't miss this. Would like to be able to do more when paired, like go through modes and turn lamp off

Intermittent blue tooth connection a pain in the a**e.... Loaded up some profiles, now I can't change them cos Petzel won't connect to the app.....

Expect this to be v1.0 by now on a retail released product. The app and hardware are really buggy. What needs to be fine to get this combination to work correctly and as expected by loyal Petzl customers?

It doesn't seem to matter what settings I do, the amount of light in front of me is the same. How can I increase the overall amount of light given out all round?

This is total CRAP! I was patient for a long time. DO NOT BUY THEIR LAMPS IF YOU HOPE TO USE BLUETOOTH. Right now when I need it the most it totally ruined my settings. IT'S DANGEROUS!

buggy buggy and buggy.

App very buggy . Have had Bluetooth connection problems . App freezing when selecting profiles. When it works it's not bad. Could do with an extra feature added . Being able to turn off the power save feature on the headlamp . Mine turns itself off randomly or dims . Have to cycle back threw an switch on . Not something you want when running down a mountain in pitch black

Super complicated and buggy needs some work

Bluetooth connection is intermittent and unreliable, usually have to open and close app several times to connect. Only useful feature is charge level; which is shown by charge LED anyway. Not worth downloading.

Caused my lamp to go so dim it barely worked. Could not reset my lamp to factory settings. Drove 40 miles round trip to exchange the first lamp thinking the hardware was defective. This software will absolutely ruin your lamp and it's not worth the price to buy it to use without the app

I am very sad and disappointed at this. The nao+ seems brilliant but this app... My word. Not only can I not set the profile to the headtorch (it seems to change my chosen settings all by itself at some point in uploading) but the workflow in the app is really less than clean and clear. It crashes at times like when trying to change the profile name and the list goes on... I can only suggest that simplicity and working function are better than complexity and dysfunction.

When it works its great, other times it can be a little buggy. But with each update the functionality gets better.

Live mode only leads to the app crashing, so I basically can't do anything with the app. I regret paying more for the + version. Downloaded the app yesterday on a Samsung Galaxy S5 with Android.

Sur papier, l'application est vraiment géniale. Les profils prédéfinis fonctionnent bien. Encore quelques bugs : 1- Lorsqu'on créé un profil custom, les types Bivouac, Trekking, sont remplacés par Mountaineering lors de la sauvegarde. 2- Boutons delete et modify de profils custom ne fonctionnent pas, ils ouvrent juste une page de création d'un nouveau profil.

Interesting concept, but I am unable to connect. Paired it the first time and the it dropped deal. Occasionally it will connect for few seconds and drop again. Pairing is list every time I change the tab. Once lost app goes into a loop for ages forcing to restart the phone.

The original computer software for the Tikka RXP allowed for true customizing of the light and beam options. This app forces you to use the built in profiles for beam options and they are inconsistent from reactive to constant. For example, the bivouac setting on reactive uses only the diffused beam, meanwhile in constant setting, if you lower the light intensity in that same profile, the spot beam is also activated. Petzl should revise the software for true customizing.

Crashes all the time. Impossible to pair the lamp for the second time. Leaves your lamp with your initial customization and impossible to revert. Do NOT use it will ruin your lamp

Nice to see %'s and burn time, but profiles are very buggy. Constantly getting renamed, not saving correctly (changing the 'activity' when saved), and creating duplicates constantly. Really needs an update...

The pairing process is so damn buggy that the app won't recognize a lamp the OS has just paired. I had yo give up pairing the lamp. Nexus 5, Android 6.0.1

Cannot connect and constantly crashes. Unacceptable for the price. Will be returning
