Guitar Tuner Free - GuitarTuna

It used to work like charm. After last update it doesn't work anymore. It been a problem for a month now. There has already been a lot of comment about this. Kindly fix this or rollback, please. I dont want to switch.

Been using the tuner for a long time now and seems to me to get the most accurate sound (for a phone app) that I've found. Quick too.

The app stopped working today, it just doesn't make sounds or receive sounds

Can make few tunings free....like the Fender App which gives all free tunings but yes appreciate this app a lot....can work on free tunings.....

It is great for a tuner on the go. The metronome and chord library are helpful tools as well. It's about all you could ask for from a tuner on your cell phone.

Nice app

Just opened this and tuned up after guitar pro kept stalling in the tools menu after last update. Didn't feel like wiping the app data. No long term use yet, but the response is quick and the old epi sounds pretty fukn decent. In comparison to other apps, I'm impressed. I've always felt that a dedicated tuner always sounds better, but first impressions tell me this version is pretty dialed in.

I think this app is great. It is very convenient and easy to tune in a short time. My favorite part is that it shows a steady stream of sound so you know how extreme of an adjustment to make, and it doesn't have any glitches or problems loading. I've had many tuners that you have to pick light or hard with but with this app, no matter how you pick the strings, it gives you a good reading. I would definitely recommend this to guitarists and beginners, I know I enjoy it :)

Good tuner, but you have to pay if you want your guitar in any other tuning. Why do you just make people pay up front? I wasted my time waiting on this to download. Just to have to find another. I am not going to buy a tuner on my phone.. I have one, just left it at band practice. Just needed one real quick.

Its a cool app as in I can custom add my tunings, but the reason I spent money on it was for more than just a handful of the many many and constantly added tunings out there. They must be added manually if you wish to tune to something other than basically standard tunings besides 2 or 3 extra. Second reason I spent money on it was because the app seemed to have an array of chords but they only give you the basics. I'll still be using this app a lot as a tuner and tunings customizer and as unique chords and tunings are added I will improve my rating.

I must admit that I didn't think this app would actually work well before I tried it, but I'm very pleasantly surprised. Been using it for a couple of years now and it's the best tuning app I've found. Way more convenient than messing around with my old guitar tuner. Can't recommend it highly enough.

I love this app! I bought the extra packs for tunings and on my Droid Play, everything is dead on across all tunings. I use the app 99.9% of the time for tuning, but I like the extra features it has and am sure to get bored one day and explore those features more. As for the freebie version, TOTALLY worth it for standard tuning players... If you are into more experimental (i.e, open, drop tunings) the extra tuning packs have proven WELL worth the $15 or $20 I spent to access them.. I'm not 100% on this, and will check immediately after posting this review, but I think if you purchase the extra tunings this app will allow you to create and save your own custom tunings as well. Never crashes, never bugs.. GREAT app!

This is a pretty solid little application for any level of guitar player. I'm a little more advanced, so I primarily use it for tuning, which it is also great for and will save you the money to buy a tuner - you can tune here for free! If you are a beginner and want to learn basic chord structure and complete challenges of varying degrees, then this is a fantastic application. As a side note, to some here that have commented about the 'tuner' being off or incorrect, you might want to change your focus to your guitar and potential issues it may have, intonation etc. If this app tunes my guitar perfectly, then it should do the same for others. Either it's your phones microphone, your guitar, or your own ear. Just sayin'!

If your excuse for not practicing is because you can't tune your guitar then this app will be a good aid...it not only helps you tune your guitar, but also it has a bunch of chords and games to learn or practice from. The tuning accuracy is very good, and if you want to learn how to tune by yourself, turn down your volume and close your eyes while you tune, then see if you were correct by checking it with the tuner. Good luck, you will improve your abilities with practice and this app... ;-)

This app is the best guitar tuner that I've ever user ever! Yay for advancing technology! No need to go to the store and buy a guitar tuner ever again! This tuner is super easy, wonderful interface and very specific in tone, love it! Love that it's free but it'd definitely be worth every penny if it were sold.

Thanks too this application I can practice tuning my accoustic guitar. I'm a beginer on playing guitar so I'm not familiar tuning it. This application will help me learn and be familiarize with the correct tune on each string. Each time you click the letter on each machine tuner, it play the correct sound sample that you should hear when your guitar is on the right tune. I also have a guitar tuner and I check if they have the same result when you tune the guitar they have the same result.

I checked this against my trusty old Korg tuner, and I'm impressed at how accurate it is. I'm not at all crazy about how exoensive the full version is, but the free version is accurate and functional, and would be more than enough for a beginner. However, if you're looking to spend $30 on a tuner, take your lazy but to your local music store and buy a clip on.

Not very accurate for low E, because it doesn't seem to pick it up very well even through my amp. I have to tune with the 5th fret as an A to really get it. I also don't like how things always pop up when I'm supposedly done tuning, because I'm usually not. And if I wanted to use other parts of the app I would do that. I don't like 'helpful suggestions' in apps. Not going to buy the full version, because I'd rather spend the money on a real tuner that tunes by vibration rather than by sound.

Just installed the app.. can't tune by ear so can't judge on that. But do like the learning games.. really good idea but! The in the game you have to type in the chord you see / hear.. but the location of the chord eh.. letters keep changing.. which makes it so that like 90% of the errors are error of location choice and not chord choose.. which boycotts the learning.. and that is what it's intended for.. so PLEASE. Change this.. so we can start answering typing 'blind' which speeds up rhythm, tone and learning curve..

tuning is off and very touchy. doesn't pick up my guitar and says I suck when I play everything right and on time. only good for tuning once or twice when desperate. also makes your g string way higher than it should be and makes the b and high e strings lower

Great app. Perfect for tunning and learning new stuff. I got a guitar only 3 days ago and I'm teaching myself how to play. This app helps you learn new cords through exercises and so far has helped me. Update. The app doesn't pick the audio on time. When practicing songs sometimes you have to play the note early or else it doesn't pick it up and makes it Impossible to advance. It's been challenging as it is to learn guitar and the app really helps but the audio when trying to use for leaning beginner songs really messes up your rhythm.

It's all good dog. Lost the ability to tune by ear if that's possible maybe I never could but this app is here to help as long as my phone is charged and it's not one of those weird days where the app won't connect to my microphone. Now stop asking me to rate this app I would like to play guitar now my guitar is in tune

I tried this app with three different devices and it is not accurate. Probably because the microphones​ were not designed or specced to do this sort of thing. Nevertheless, you should get a real tuner and only use this for emergencies. A clip on tuner is cheap, fast, and accurate. Your guitar will sound much better in tune.
