Old Time Radio Player (no ads)

App will start playing again after you pause (No stop option) and put the phone in your pocket or bag. Pretty constant. Also, the random play isn't. It often playa past episodes and you have to keep tapping the dice to get something different. Even when freshly loaded, it plays the same order. The RND function doesn't seem to work. I've emailed the developer several wells app but haven't heard a response. Will update review if any changes.

It's great to be able to do chores, and just be able to have so much fun kicking back with the old shows. Please include an option to have all the episodes, in the "play up to -- episodes in the options. Also , most of the time, when you are having issues it may be issues with data speeds. For example, if you get low on Hi-Speed Data usage,will slow your data way down.

These stories have a soothing effect. I listen as I fall asleep or when work is getting stressful. I just wish there were more episodes of my favorites but it's probably like tv these days, you find a show you like and they cancel it:( There are plenty of others to choose from though. Great variety!

Works great except for the fact that it won't play continuously even though the choice is there in its settings. This problem limits its use during workouts. Other than that it's a very good application.

You used to be able to play episodes continuously, but even though it is a setting - that no longer works. I love OTR, and am sad I can't use this app like I was used to

These were way before my time, but I got hooked on them because of NPR and "When Radio Was" This app is great and has a ton of shows with lots of episodes available. If you have never heard old-time radio, you should check it out!

Great listening, really entertaining while camping, or as we are currently evacuated, great entertainment. Wonderful, thank you for fixing the problem with the app so quickly.

It's been close to a year now and the errors that I have reported have not been fixed

Keep forgetting why I've uninstalled it. Bad sound quality on some shows, echo on others, hissing in background. In the paid version of app. Horrible. I may have posted this before. Can't remember. Still bad.

Have only recently purchased the no-advertisement version because I so enjoy this App. However I did this for two reasons: 1. Because I really enjoy the extensive programs and interface (without ads.) This App's collection takes me back to my own childhood when I would record these radio shows onto a cassette tapes. Having them all, and instantly accessible - THIS is a goldmine to me! I tell lots of people about this too! 2. The other reason was, I had hoped that it would correct the problem with playing. Sad to say the App now only works intermittently, perhaps it was after the most recent version update (5.9.2). If I try to play an episode, say from: "Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar", then it will skip ahead "unable to play", show after show, trying to play something but won't. It then marks them all as having been heard. (Marking it with the 'ear' icon.) This happens, not just to that program and genre, but ALL of them. Again, I still give this 5 stars, and hope that it will be repaired quickly. I'd hate to have to ask for a refund. (Samsung Galaxy S6)

Pay the money for ad free, nothing in life is free and this one is totally worth it.

Really enjoy all the old detective shows, and even the period commercials.

My brothers and I grew up listening to these old time radio shows during the "Drama Hour". We had to stay up after bedtime at the risk of dad's belt it seems. The app had some playback problems on occasions, but it delivers the content and organizes it brings trying to download them online one at a time. It also allows you to browse and try out other types of shows. I've been using this app for perhaps 4 years now and I love it. Goodnight Gracie.

Needs CHROMECAST CHROMECAST. AND YES CHROMECAST Support also Play continuous episodes doesn't work for me have manually start each but when not near Radioclassics on SiriusXM ITS GOOD 5 to 3 stars for no casting

Stopped working! It is the paid version and tried uninstall and reinstall, but just can't get it to work! Otherwise thought it was great

Updated and now crashes absolutely useless. This was the best and now it isjunk. Wish there was support.

This is the greatest app for great old radio shows that were, sadly, before my time. Back when adventure was adventure. Comedy was actually funny. Suspense,mystery and sci-fi actually sent a chill down your spine. So many great radio shows. Definitely needs to be updated with more shows, more frequently. I've listened to literally every show, every episode on here. Multiple times. Will bump to five when more shows get added more frequently, until then, four. recommend downloading if you are an OTR fan.

I love old radio shows. I have tried downloading a couple of times because it looks like a great assortment and has good reviews. Everytime I attempt to play a connection failed message comes up. Uninstall again. Need refund.

Some shows like My Favorite Husband are the same episodes for the first few listed. Pressing the back button on the phone closes out the app which is annoying instead of just going to the previous screen.

This used to be one of my go-to favorite apps, but now it either doesn't download episodes or skip them over and over. I love these old time radio shows and would like to listen to them without interruption. Come on devs, fix this!

I love this app! It has a great selection of shows, an easy to use interface, and useful options (especially continuous random play). The one missing feature is a sleep timer, very handy for those who like to listen at bedtime. I also would love to see a music and variety category, with shows such as Camel Caravan and other big band series.

I have enjoyed this app for years. Some time ago I tried two others but deleted them and just now downloaded the ad-free version of this app for my new Samsung phone. I have it on my other phone and Kindle as well. Obviously I am an old time radio fan... if you like the old radio shows you'll love this app. Thanks Dave!

Great old radio shows to relax to. Needs a sleep timer, but other then that its the best app I have ever spent money on.

There are just so many shows on here I doubt I'll ever get bored.

The episodes I've listened to keep getting reset

Works great, for the most part. However, there's always room for improvement. Such as... Add automatic screen rotation. Every other app can do this. Having screen orientation locked down in the settings is a PITA. Add playback speed and pitch adjustment. A lot of shows were not speed-corrected when transferred from the original source material. There needs to be some way to correct it. Add "Theater Five" to the available shows. Okay, it's from the mid 60s, a bit after the Golden Age, but they're generally really good. There's over 250 episodes available.

Great app & very well done. I use it daily as I am an OTR driver. I would be lost without this app. I do wish you could make this to work with the auto rotate function of the phone. It does get annoying having to go into the settings to select portrait mode and back again. All in all, this is a superb app. Thank You...

I'm nowhere near old enough to have remembered these, but NPR got me hooked as a child and it's great to have all of these on my phone! The only problem I have is that it does not put a notification up when it's playing, so Android kills it if I'm trying to text or browse the web. Other audio apps put something in the notifications so this doesn't happen.

Great app. Love it and listen to it often. I'd like to know though why the continue playing option under settings doesn't work. Older versions did but I can't get episodes to play simultaneously. I would love to hear from the developer on this.

Please fix the continuous playback error. I guess I'll try to find the root directory of your product and delete it. And then reinstall. This is very very very annoying. Now it's jumping shows and genres. Having to stop every thirty minutes to queue the next show is very unsatisfying. Also, sometimes it'll queue up the next show and only play 30 seconds of it then totally stop! Come on! Or it'll start the next show.

Stops playing halfway through when I'm listening to any episode. Was working great til a few months ago... I have an HTC One m9
