About iBeacon4Android
This app helps you to conduct the test for iBeacon devices and other devices working with Bluetooth Low Energy(in the rest of this explanation referred to as BLE).
Using this app, you can check
- How far BLE devices are installed from your mobile app.
- Whether the peripheral you have to check is iBeacon device or not.
- What kind of flag is put in the advertisement packet.
- Which major/minor number is set in your iBeacon device.
[Usage]
In the first page, first of all, push “START” button. After starting search, you can check what peripherals there are around you in the form of peripherals list.
In this list, the row number on blue circle means the listed device is iBeacon device, on the other hand, in the case of the row number on pink circle, the listed device is other type of BLE device, not iBeacon device.
If you can find that the device you have to check is listed, push “STOP” button.
After stopping search, by tapping respective peripherals you can go to the second page, in which you can check the detailed information about the target BLE device, such as device name, flag, and so on.
Especially if the selected device is iBeacon device, you can confirm Major/Minor number, and also the approximately distance between an iBeacon device and your mobile app.
If you would like to check the advertisement packet the BLE device emits, click “Check HEX” button in the menu. In the third page you can check the advertisement packet in the form of hexadecimal notation, and send the mail to someone with the information about the advertisement packet.
