Lightify for Android
First steps to setup and login were not easy. Now everything is ok. The soft I installed to the Android and apple phones. Both are working well. Well, nothing is perfect ;).
Lights are good as lights go but the below average zigbee range means you need a lot of globes close together to get them to mesh. The app is garbage. The latest version freezes more than ever before and it's operation is unreliable. Make sure all lights are on the latest firmware or the network is unstable and operation is erratic. Why oh why isn't there IFTTT support? Lagging way behind here Osram. Looks like we'll have to get a Wemo gateway instead and use the Wemo app.
Hi, You can note make it blink You can note make your self scene (blinking) You can make app equalizer to blink lamps via microphone. I have your led stripes (12meter) and something is missing Thanks for hearing :) .2 New update came out for flex rgbw from: 01020412 to: 01020510 but it can not update normaly i tried my 3 devices. Thanks
Schedules don't consistently work. Always need to log in then app says lights are off line. I regret spending the money on these. Going back to the old reliable plug in timers for when I'm away.
App constantly switches between connected and disconnected to gateway, shutting the app down and restarting helps sometimes. Other times it restarts the app and I have to sign back in again, it's very frustrating. I'm going to buy another third party zigbee controller and say good riddance to this app once and for all.
Ive had to reset to many times. Consistently loses one or more lights. The color scenes rarely work and when they do only one light applies the setting. I Bought a set for my mother inlaw last year and she was only able to use the app once before none of the light were recognised. Spent a lot of money for light bulbs that are just that, light bulbs.
Gateway randomly says its offline. Dynamic color loops won't stay programmed. Overall a very poor application and product. UPDATE : I had already contacted customer support. They say that a color loop can't be a default color. Why? It's a light routine to LEDs! It should be easy! Avoid these products, they are junk. It took over an hour to pair to my wifi. It took 45 minutes to update one light. I am a tech snob and this application misses the mark.
Nothing but awesome features! This app is so great for controlling my lights. It has many cool features. I do wish it could do specific color rotation and easier controls but its awesome.
Not sure if it's an issue with the app, the home base, or the lamps. But settings like fade time & default state do not save if the lamps in my system are physically power cycled. Also I have another possible unrelated issue where there's a 1-5 second delay between an action on the app & the lamps reacting. Other times an action has to be repeated before the app pushes the change to the home base. An update to fix these issues would be appreciated.
Osram, your aware of the current error in your latest update that kills your hub, yet you sit back and let these bad reviews continue. A friend had the new update sent out and his lights work perfect. Why won't you release the new update to the play store?
Looks pretty but lots of bugs. I had to jump through some serious hoops just to get the gateway bound to the Cloud. The app also seems to falsely report that the gateway has lost it's cloud connectivity but it's just not true. Waiting a bit clears the issue.
Have to fight the devices to stay connected. They appear to br connected with app but will not reach. Why does one have to regularly find devices? Not at all impressed. Please focus on a robust foundation before your team has free artistic license to create more toys.
The app is the worst, it will only detect some of my lights, not all of them, tried resetting and now have even less, some that where connected won't connect again. I have run around the house switching lights on and off dozens of times to no avail. Updating bulbs is a complete lotto, sometimes it works, other time it just stops with no message of any kind. Strongly considering returning the lot.
Basic on-off functions and color/temperature selection are fine. Groups work. Dynamic effects and features like wake-up light do not work. Only 1 light out of 8 shows any such actions. Overall, mot pleased with the app. Lights are very nice though.
App is pretty basic. Quite limited compared to Phillips Hue app. Wish it had smoother transitions between scenes. Scene changes are very abrupt. Better timing/scheduling as well, the ability to SMOOTHLY transition from scene to scene at set times would be nice
When I first got this product it seemed great. Now however, even after a full reset, it says my gateway is not connected every time I open it. Sometimes it says the lights are connected but as soon as I click to dim them it boots me back out and says gateway offline. Great lights but terrible execution.
This may be the worst app I've ever used. So many shortcomings, bizarre/confusing/limited UI decisions and straight up defects in the software, I could fill a novel. Go elsewhere for your smart bulbs.
This whole system is not worth the money. The hardware is jinky at best as the hub won't control the lights. It sees them, they pair but don't control the bulbs. Then if you try to enable the Alexa skill, it tells me I can't use an EU device in the United States. Simple solution. I'm sending all of it back, 4 lights and the hub and going with a better device. Total dissatisfaction. Email for solutions? Are you kidding me? It suss to use the reset switch on the hub. There is no reset button! Know your own devices please!
Terrible app. Tells me the gateway is offline although its light is green and I'm standing next to the gateway. Can't connect to Google home as my gateway is an EU version only US version appears. Phillips hue here I come.
A pretty frustrating setup. I was eventually able to get the hub connected to my wifi. It wasn't easy. The hub's WiFi would drop frequently. Everything from setup to use is buggy, but it smoothed out somewhat with firmware updates.
It takes longer to load, and resetting your groups and scenes is tougher, but it does work once you figure out how it works. Much more expensive than other set ups, but if you have it then keep working on it til you get it set.
It is a great app when it works. This to Buggy always shuts down. Really need to fix this ASAP. Sometime it'll show me my lights other times it'll show me nothing's connected and I have to restart the app and then it's reconnected overall a piece of garbage
Would give it a "minus" star rating if possible. Not sure if app or hardware is problem. Terribly unreliable. Apparently no QA testing before rolling out to public. Great concept very poor implementation.
Works OK once I got it connected. Have not found anywhere to alter the colour and brightness of a group of lights, had to set them all individually, which is not ideal when dealing with down lights
Overall not great but now stuck with it. Very slow to load, can't seem to get scenes to work. The android widget doesn't work at all. At the end of the day, it does dim, turn on and off and change colours...you just have to have patience. Adding google home and it was even slower and you could only change lights one bulb at a time. Really annoying in multi story multi room house.
It's not very reliable. Why can't we rename devices? I have 18 lights and have no easy way to distinguish which is which. If anyone at Osram is listening... PLEASE add device renaming functionality.
This whole hardware and software have big flaws. They do not work and this app does nothing. When I reached out the customer service I received a reply thanks they can't provide a solution. Better not buy this stupid product and move to Phillips hue.
Has a lot of bugs to work out and hard to navigate. Different error msgs saying gatewsy not connected while showing its connected. Lossing settings having to be reset frequently. Would be awesome product if software was designed better.
So hard to install. If you choose to add lights, its also a hassle. Never wants to connect or says the gateway is listed to emails that dont exists. Truly a pain. The only reason I didn't give it a one is because when they do decide to work on command, they are awesome.
The most irksome experience ever in updating firmware for the lights. Is 6 hours a reasonable duration to endure for 6 lights to update? Gateway can't hold a connection for any length of time. Lights are constantly going offline.
there is no light feedback. it bugs me not knowing if light is on or off when i am not around. especially when the last bug I had was that it turns light on randomly. I bought an tablet and found out I can only assign 1 gateway to one device, so my tablet cant use it. kinda sucks.
The app is slow and it does give loading trouble if I am patient it does load and show my devices. I like the tunable bulbs because I don't like yellow light. The other features the app has for remote and timing is also a plus. At this point I really don't have any complaints just hope to find more devices at a affordable rates.
Purchased the gateway to update my lights. The gateway updated fine. Now on updating the lights is another story. It will start the process and stop and start over. It literally took me almost 24 hours to update one light. The gateway keeps going offline, the lights take forever to update if it makes it. Plus you should let 3rd party hubs be able to connect to the gateway. I got about 3 more attempts in me before trashing it all and going to Phillips.
Lights are nice, but everything else is terrible. The gateway is one of he worst pieces of tech I've used and the app is not far behind. It crashes all the time. The gateway goes offline more than it's on. I would not buy this setup again or recommend to anyone. The lights alone are nice, but you have no options if you do manual plug for off and on. So basically you are left with expensive LED holiday lights. Overall, very disappointing, especially considering the cost.
The app disconnected from the gateway and said it could not find it so I reset the gateway. app cannot detect the devices. I got two Sylvania plugs that advertise they work with this app. Osram sent me a link to a non-existent youtube video.
When I try to change in the settings I get a message saying that Gateway is offline. So, I go into the settings to try to update the Gateway connection, and it says I need to connect to the WiFi in order to access this feature. So I need to be connected to the wifi in order to make the connection to the WiFi? Very frustrating.
I am normally a fan of German technology. This is such a bad application and I have at time so much drama to connect either the light or the gateway. I own other units from other brands and this is the worst. I will definitely get my money back on this junk.
Basically useless. It either needs to rediscover my wireless network or discover devices every time it launches. Which means it takes 10 minutes to turn on a light via the app. Wow, that's some amazing automaton.
I've never been so frustrated with a product in my entire life. I purchased six of these and they worked for about a month before they stopped doing basic things. I've tried everything to get these lights to work as intended. Do not bother with them return them and get the hues. At least they'll work on a basic level, something these don't do.

Updated- vastly improved application from August 9- now finally does what it was supposed to do. Still playing a distant cousin to Philips Hue but at the price point now good value. The setup is still a little clunky but at least it now works
