Orvis Fly Fishing

This app is so outdated and needs a drastic overhaul. Content hasn't changed and I'm as equally disappointed as I was years ago when I first downloaded it. Don't waste your time like I did....again. Sorry Orvis.

I really want to like this app, and love to listen to the podcasts. BUT, this app would be great if it would remember where you left off if you leave the app during a podcast. At the moment if I switch apps it goes back to the start!!!

I've had no problems with it. All of the videos work and they are short and to the point. You can also search for flies based on your location and season which is really handy. I think it's the great little app. I'm using it on a Samsung Galaxy s7.

I think as a fellow fly fisherman who loves fly fishing this app will increase my knowledge. Just brilliant.

App was working fine for me till mid-April. Now it never recognizes I'm online, so never brings up new podcasts. Uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. Please fix this. It's my favorite app.

Great app when it works but 99.9 it never works.

The Google Play page when viewed on my laptop's web browser says the app is compatible with my device. I hit the install button, look at my phone and it says it can't be installed... load up the app's Play page through Google Play on my phone and what does it say? "Your device isn't compatible with this version." So I reload the browser page on my laptop, and it still says: "This app is compatible with your device." Something doesn't make sense. Bummed out.

Water level graph hasn't worked in years, and still doesn't. (Take a look at Skagit River for an example. It hasn't worked in 3 years.) Fishing reports are the same old cut & paste reports week in and week out. They just rotate through them each week. Podcasts make the app unresponsive, crash, lock-up, and never finish loading. Other in-app links have the same effect. For an app they keep saying is updated and fixed - it really hasn't ever worked right. Has had the same old problems for YEARS.

I constantly have to completely restart the app so the functions work. Being new to fly fishing this is very frustrating. I think I am going to uninstall. This is stupid. Unistalling. This keeps locking up. Done

The connection issues aside I can't get it to landscape mode. The info is very good, reports and should be a help to any fly fisher that travels.

Links to license and regulations do not work. The app says you need to download data seperate from the Google Play Store, and when you go to do so, it says Im offline, which clearly, I am not. Not sure what is going on with this app, but seems the developers need to sit down with it and do some work on it. Its barely useful.

The latest update seems to have fixed the connectivity problem. So, this is back to being my favorite app!

This app doesn't want to update at all. It stops and says it's offline. I'm online in my home and still tells me that it's offline. Fix this.

App only works in offline mode, making many features unavailable. Please fix this Orvis, as with proper connectivity i would rate this app 5 stars. Many others having same issues on other devices...

I'd give 5 stars if it worked consistently. I'm constantly getting error messages for months at a time and then it works briefly only to go back to error messages. The app creators do not answer requests for help, as I have submitted emails repeatedly and received no reply.

As others have said, the Android app cannot connect to the network for downloads and updates. It works fine on my IPhone, just not my Android tablet.

I can't even open the damned app, because when I try to, it tells me it can't open because I am "offline". Which I'm not. And even when it was working, it was usually out of date. The stream flows were NEVER accurate. Will probably uninstall, as it is useless anyway.

Giving me internet connectivity error message. Reinstalled several times and still the same priblem. Useless.

Basic function is great, but keeps telling me that I don't have enough storage space (have 10+ gb available) or I don't have a connection when trying to get additional content - both errors on 2 different devices

Tells me I'm offline even when I'm on WiFi and have full 4G.

Rosenbauer's podcasts are a fantastic way to spend a car ride. Worth it for this feature alone.

It doesn't work anymore. It keeps telling me that I'm off line when I'm not. I'm going to Uninstaller it.

New to fly fishing, lots of info,and up to date news!

Just doesn't work. Like another user commented, it's says I am not connected when I clearly am. Force closes a lot. Looks pretty but needs a lot of work to fix these stability and reliabilty issues. LG G3 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5!

Quit working so I Uninstalled then re-installed app. It wouldn't even take my registration info , saying it cannot connect to server. Sent error info and never got a response or resolution.

Network can't connect half the time and the formatting of the fishing reports is less than desirable with no idea as to when it was posted. Waste of money IMO.

Paid 5 bucks and now it doesn't work.

This app will not let me register. It says errors occurred while communicating with the server. Also won't let me download videos. Very disappointed in such a poor product from a company that prides itself in providing high quality products.

Used this app for years.... Now it is useless. Sent email to developer that has gone unanswered to date. Disapointed to say the least. Uninstalled.

Orvis Fly Fishing App on a Nexus 5: As of July '15 - works really well. Without a doubt the best application is the knots section. The video and animations are awesome. Good casting instruction and the fly directory has super descriptions and pics. It used to crash a lot, that's been fixed - still needs to restart now and again. Overall... 8/10.
