Orgzly: Notes & To-Do Lists for Android
First: it's seriously wonderful. The app itself is great. But there are some compatibility issues with org mode if you want to edit your notebook on desktop as well (mainly around tags and due dates).
am I missing something--can not figure out how to schedule something for a PM time, it defaults to AM and doesn't seem to want to change that time... other than that I dig the app so far but this functionality will make or break it for me. hopefully I'm just not seeing a setting...
I love where the app is at, and look forward to continued development. The critical missing element for me is the alarms for reminders. Also, Google Keyboard doesn't seem to auto correct when naming a new task. As Prem Patel said, adding subtasks are a bit difficult.
Pretty handy even if it doesn't support all org mode features. Limited storage backends are only a minor issue as you can work around it pretty easily.
Auto sync with dropbox is the only thing keeping it from 5 stars. Without it it's just a pain in the behind.
This looks great but is really a non starter for me until I can use git as a storage backend. I don't trust my notes to a third party service.
Lack of auto sync is a real pain. Having to remember to manually sync all devices after every change is a real nuisance. Still getting caught out.
It's open source now, so no complaints! The best note taking app!
Works great! Just what I wanted.
Excellent app. Would love to see sync with Google keep or even docs
Great, want this kind of app long time ago
Very good for writing your notes.
Thank you for preventing me from needing to install emacs.
Love the fact that is an org mode ;)
Great App
I like it. Thx.
Simplicity is...
Superb work in bringing org mode to Android. Synched with Dropbox. One bug. If the document is not offline in Dropbox then app fails the sync. So keep the document offline and you can use it perfectly. Yet to find any other issue.
first of all, THANK YOU, this is a nice and smooth app, and helped me a lot for my style of organization. Two request features: the ability to copy notes, so we can have a notebook of templates. and the option to show the higher order nested tags attached to notes in the search view. And again, thanks for this app.
Wonderful implementation of org mode on Android. Very well thought-out interface that makes good use of org-mode's power and flexibility.
I keep my most important Org files in the Dropbox root directory, and it's impossible to use that as a repository.
Fantastic app! Can't wait for git repository syncing.
Good but, I think the UX could be better.
Black theme on AMOLED is great.
Creative, what I need is this
Webdav please
Good looking with lots of features but unintuitive and frustratingly slow to use. ▪Saving to SD opens up possibilities for local sync eg with 'Syncthing', with which it works beautifully. In fact the whole syncing side of this app seems really well thought out, and is a primary attraction.▪Love the dark theme.▪Font size - I find the notebook lists font too large when compared to the notes font, it would be great if font size could be chosen separately for notebook lists and note content. ▪It's very unintuitive and convoluted to change or edit anything, this is particularly annoying when trying to change 'State' which should be a one tap option. The complexity of trying to change anything is the main reason I don't yet use it for real. ▪Would like an option to create a homescreen shortcut to a notebook. ▪Would prefer that it didn't have Internet Permission, syncing is perfectly possible without. :-) Now has hyperlinks, and has got rid of empty "Notebooks description..." - thanks.
I like too see this as an outstanding effort to save us from the servitude of the Cloud, and still let us backup our data, export them in text format, share them between devices, and possibly migrate to a different app. - Carefully designed. - All this shows respect for the user, at last! - Most serious limitation: no widgets. When they are implemented, it would be an elegant idea to allow their contents be defined by reference to a saved search. While we are waiting for widgets, at least the creation of shortcuts to saved searches is an urgent requirement. - Whish it'd be possible to sort items by drag-and-drop. - Not yet checked if there is still room or need for other functionality features. - Customization features seem already more than sufficient.
If you are already an org-mode user, this is simply perfect. I use it in cooperation with syncthing to sync the directory on my sd card that orgzy writes to, and then I can make further updates on my laptop with Emacs. Love it.
I'm just getting started with Emacs and Org-mode. This app is a life saver for easy editing of my todos on the go. Edit: Black color scheme looks amazing on AMOLED screens!
seems to have more extensive functionality than workflowy. I miss the speed and convenience or workflowy though, being able to add and move items very quickly. is that on the cards at all?
A beautiful, open source, and easy to use app. Great for interacting with org files
It's perfect for org mode user.
well it is simply good
Great org app! Just missing a few features from mobile org (calendar sync for to-dos, and support for custom to-do statuses), but provides a richer editing experience. And recently open sourced!
I love this thing. Magnificent. I would love to see the internal archiving from org-mode in the app (essentially it is a tag).
Very nice, great layout. Good functionality. Should have owncloud repository, not only db
Just like "Omni notes" android app, if we can "optionally"
Best org-mode app! Patiently waiting for git sync.

It's very good, just needs a few more features and improvements. 1. Need something like the Workflowy zoom in feature, so that you can concentrate on a section of a Very large outliner. 2. It's not easy to quickly add a bunch of sub tasks to a top level note. You have to repeatedly swipe the top level note to reveal the menu and the icons for adding are not very intuitive. 3. Moving notes up and down is slow as you have to long click a note then open the menu and then select move option. The move button should be in the swipe menu
