Oracle Magazine Mobile for Android
This must have been designed by someone on a mission to annoy their audience. The magazine. content is good but this app forces me to peer at it through a porthole which uses just the middle 1/3 of my screen. Auto-rotate is not supported. I am 50 and my eyes aren't what they used to be, so I need to zoom in - and the content does not even flow so I am forced to pan left & right continually. Even the Help and FAQ pages are unreadable because of this. Really schocked that Larry allowed this out the door
Looks like you weren't going to hit your deadline so you just threw something up to get it out there. Lack of landscape mode and continual scrolling, zooming, adjusting is totally unacceptable from a company like Oracle. This isn't rocket science. I've seen high school students make better digital content apps. I'm uninstalling until something better comes along.
A poor inplementation. Only allows landscape on my tablet, and can't be moved to SD cards. The scrolling and page changes are awkward. Surprising that Oracle issued such a poor product.
What a steaming pile of crap! Landscape only. Scrolling up and down to read a page. Binned this app already. Probable the worst app I've ever had the misfortune to use, briefly. Plus, I can't even download the current issue for my desktop, it has expired. This is not a good business model!
Wow. If you're not going to give me a print magazine any more, why are you giving me an app that looks like it's a limited window to a print magazine?!?! You're not taking ANY advantage of the digital format - instead I get what could almost be a photograph of the magazine, that I have to pan and scan to read. In fact, and actual photo might be an improvement, as this app won't let me rotate to landscape, and wastes 2/3 of my screen as unusable white space, so if I magnify to read content I have to scroll an insane amount. This app makes Oracle Magazine borderline unreadable. The content is good enough to keep it above one star, but it's so hard to get to the content that hardly matters.
I read a few articles then it wanted me to subscribe. Which I get its free but I don't want to give u all my info.
I agree with most comments here that the way that articles are rendered on the screen is terrible and unreadable.
The view port for displaying topic is very small, appearing at the middle of the phone, expanding only increase the fontsize, add additional headache of scrolling for each line. Petty bad design
You've taken away PDF version and replace it with this?!?! Where is landscape mode to start with?
This app does not rotate the content when rotating your device. It displays the content in a portrait orientation only, BUT the content is formatted in landscape and locked to a viewport vertically centered to 1/3 the display area. You can't read it without zooming in which cust off the top bottom and or sides of the articles which then need to be panned to be read.
Totally useless on Android in its current form. No landscape. Login does not work. Did anyone bothered to QA it?
Its just like reading a pdf.. On fone.. In an app.. With no scroll.. No zoom.. And with lost patience.
While I was browsing the magazine, have received message "Your free browsing has ended. Come back next week". "Next week"???!!! Are u seriose. Oracle is crazy, wants to earn money even on their magazine.
I think this can't be issued by any respected company.I don't you why don't you just provide a pdf version of the magazine like you'd been doing in the past
nie wykorzystuje całej wielkości ekranu telefonu. treść jest nieczytelna. aplikacja poziomem odpowiada amatorskim programom a nie dużej korporacji
Update this app if you can.
Content is fine from Oracle Mag, but how it is presented is odd. Think Full Screen, screen rotation and less white. You're over complicating what should be simple
Once again Oracle, which provides fantastic infrastructure & enterprise software, shows it doesn't understand user experience. Two thirds of the screen is unused white space. The default text is unreadable, making it readable results in a tiny scrolling window on a larger canvas - its almost an old age simulation for that time when you need a magnifying glass to read. Landscape viewing doesn't exist. Just browse the Web version instead.
Got me all excited thinking my I'm organized with an appropriate app for easy access around my kids after bedtime yay for us now I'm not distracted searching for nothing can't wait for the next
I could not read it more than 5 secs and uninstalled it.
This app is an embarrassment for Oracle.
This is a useless magazine.
We don't expect such rubbish attempt from such a great company.

Is it built with Mob.app.accelerator? :-) Usability is not ideal, it asks to accept licence on every app start, no landscape when reading, not full portrait screen is used, hard to zoom and scroll :-( really not cool. Its great you provided magazin content via app though and I will use it. I hope future iteration will be really good regarding usability first but design also. Keep up the good work!
