This application turns your phone into a powerful Geiger meter.
RadMeter supports the most common silicon and Geiger tube sensors (SS05, BPW34, SBM-20, SBT10, STS-5, SI-29BG, LND712...), you can also define a custom sensor and add it to the internal database. The app supports also Radon gas measurements.
This app is a real working radiation meter provided you connect an external sensor SS05. If you don't plug any sensor, the app will use the internal mic of the phone just for demonstrational purposes. As alternative you can use a standard Geiger tube with a proper connection interface. App works with the Geiger counters that I have been making. You MUST HAVE AN EXTERNAL DEVICE for this app to work. Those who just run the app and stick their phone in the toilet or near the dog, get a high reading and claim the app is defective, are leaving misleading, ignorant reviews. I can not say if the calibration is accurate. I have nothing to compare/calibrate with and have only been experimenting with GM tubes for a few weeks now. But, it does measure and display CPM. Background radiation does appear to compare with what information I have found online for my area when I use SBM20 and SBT11 GM tubes. Using app with a Samsung Galaxy S5. The audio in this phone appears to be marginal for this use, but it seems to be OK. I find that slow CPM rates show as smaller pulses on the app's graph. Pulse height appears to increase with faster CPM rates. I am assuming this is my phone since I do not see this difference when looking at the pulses with an oscilloscope. Once the pulse height measurement is calibrated in the app, CPM measurements appear to work. Thank you for making this app!

the closest accident is maralinga 600+ Kms away - iv it were that bad id be dead alredy - your phone cant detect radiation if it does not have a geiger counter built in

Coupled it with a radiation meter built by atomic.dave with a russian made SBT-9 geiger tube and it worked perfectly.

Doesnt work on my Note 4 Android 5.0.1. I use the Smart Lab Geiger and it detects nothing under any setting. The same device works fine on my Note 10.1 with 4.2.2 installed but not the Note 4 with 5.0.1. Btw, your reply makes you look stupid. The device DOES work but not on my Note 4, it works on my tablet. * another stupid reply from you. It might be an unsupported device but it works. If you add 5.*.* supoort to your app then it would work on my note 4 also. Instead of another stupid reply how about i help you out and get this device working on the Samsung Note 4 with 5.1.1 that way i would also edit my review and give more stars. The way it us now itll stay at 1 star.
