Can't see scheduled recordings by day. "Typical improvement" which challenges users who are quite happy with the "old" functionality. Now they have created a new app which forces us to learn a whole new system. Pretty dumb. Since i no longer have a contract with Telus I will be checking out Shaw blue sky. I hear it is pretty good.

I don't like the new version!! The older one was much less confusing and now with the new one it says I can't watch a movie I rented unless I record it or something, I seriously don't know. The older version was amazing! I new how to control it and I didn't have to "record" anything to be able to watch It! If I could give the new version a 0 star rating I would! Please SWITCH IT BACK!!!

Awful! The old version was fine. New version, aside from a terrible layout, does not let me watch 70% of the live tv shows because Im on a tablet. I have the channels, but not allowed to watch. That is the entire point of Optik on the Go, is to watch on mobile device. I am beyond frustrated with this, there is no point to having it

Used the older version without fail, installed new and will not work. No option to roll back to previous version! Basically screwed as can't use app at all now as has an error as soon as I try to load. Really frustrated!!!!! Used it everyday!

This app works okay. You can stream live TV, access your pvr, and set recordings. However, you can't set the streaming quality, which is bad for usage on mobile data. You can't access most SD channels in the app, and it forces you to stream at HD in the highest quality, using 1.7GB/hour. That's a ton of data to use for just an hour for watching TV. I'd be fine streaming in 240p and using ~200MB / hour, if they had an option. It would make the app alot more useful, as you could stream on the go without eating through your data allotment.

Decent update to the original Optik on the Go app. One thing I noticed was the improvement of the live TV playback, definitely smoother than before and feels at least 30 fps, rather than the odd stutter every few seconds of old. The interface does try to feel more movie/Netflix like with large pictures, but I would still like to have the guide in smaller one line items as an option for faster scrolling than the current pictures or thicker bars. The interface is a little laggy. Selecting Live TV for instance, may take 5 - 10 seconds for items to start popping up. And with no status circle, you're somewhat unsure if you selected something, hopefully remedied on the next update. Other than that, keep up the great work!

it's nice that it opens to full screen but I wish I had the option to go to half screen like the previous version. Major battery hog compared to previous version. The back of my LG3 smartphone gets very hot watching TV even for a few minutes. Quite slow to load and often tells me I'm disconnected from the internet when I'm not and I have to correct the issue by restarting the phone. I wish I could go back to the previous version which in my opinion was far superior.

Unlike the previous app you can't use it as a remote. You can't change the channel with it or pause, rwd, ffw as you could with the previous one. It just for finding and programing your PVR. Huge fail optic.

Just updated this morning, not a fan of the new interface also stops streaming for me after a few minutes with the upload circle. Previous version found much better, absolutely terrible update.

The older version was way better, way more user friendly and I was able to watch all the channels I pay for. Now I can't. Thanks Telus for continuing to ruin services.

Unfortunately, Optik TV has stopped working. That's as far as I can get when trying to run the app on my tablet.

The old version was 10 times better the new version costly freezes and reloads. Very frustrating why you got to change what works

Didn't absolutely love old app but at least it was easy to navigate the guide. Hate this one and can't even roll back to older version.

The old one worked fine. This just keeps shutting down. Horrible. Unusable.

Really nice update the app is fluid and the streams are more stable now, the UI change was needed, more updates will come to fix bugs, if you can't get this to work on your device, open up chrome and head to the optik on the go website, it was re-written as well, very smooth no more silver light required. For those upset about the recordings not being available, don't blame Telus, it's the rights holders of your favourite shows that deny that access.

Still no ability to watch your PVR? What year is it? This is something a rep said they were working on back in 2013.

Complete garbage. Error when logging in. You should fire whomever develops your apps they are terrible.

This app interface is pretty lousy. Why does the menu take up a fifth of my smartphone screen? Why is there a "ways to play" without operable links? Glad I wasn't married to it before this new version. Not likely to use it much anymore. Not a fan....

I think it's absolutely retarded that you have to watch some shows at your house. Why would I want to watch shows on a 5-inch screen when I can watch them on a 55-inch at home. And it sucks that I can't watch my recorded shows and the on-demand shows are two weeks behind this app sucks

The update layout is bad but at least it works with split screen now. Wish they added the feature to watch your recordings.

Doesn't connect at all. Older version I could watch. Really disappointed in this app.

The old app worked fine. This new version won't play live tv on my samsung galaxy A tablet for more than a few minutes. Please fix this

The tablet used to in the pictures are the same tablet I own, yet it states "this app may not be optimised for your device". Nothing plays

Well.. better function then the previous version.. but channel 911 is now missing from live tv... Which was the only one I wanted. Damnit.

I am ok with the update, but I can't get my iPad to display video when I hook into my TV. Anyone else? Or help.

Finally a new look, now if only it allows us to watch on deamad on the phone it will be perfect.

Should include the ability to play pvr shows

A completely frustrating app to use. The interface is useless, I can't quickly find the shows I want to watch and when using Crave TV, it doesn't remember where I left off so I have to waste so much time finding my last episode. Dear app creators, please look at examples such as Netflix, that is a useful app design!

Works on tablet, but not as an app on smart tv so my spouse and I cannot watch the same show. Casting from tablet to tv, you can see the guide, but none of the streams play. Remove screen mirroring and it works on the tablet again. Web version doesn't work as it looks for silverlight, which is not available on the tv. Not sure if I will keep it on my tablet.

This app takes forever just to load and rarely allows you to stream live TV. Error messages are constant and direct you to "please try again" .... Only to receive the same error and another "please try again." If you happen to obtain a live connection, you spend more time watching the buffering circle than the actual show. Waste of time!

The good news, it works. The bad news, it's laggy and continually buffers. Really annoying to watch and almost forces you to turn on the TV - which is what they probably want in the first place.
