Media Control for OPPO BDP-9x for Android
Worked on my HTC One M8 when it was upgraded to And 6.0 but DOA on my HTC 10 with 6.0.1. But I'm back in business. I just booted up my old Evo 4G and it works great! At least I have something to use until they update the app. Hopefully they do!
This app no longer works on my android phone (oneplus one) it used to work great but now whenever I try to open it just says unfortunately media control has stopped. Anyone know a fix for this?
On a Nexus 6P with Android 7.0 the app crashes when it detects my Oppo BDP-95.
Trouble with long titles in media library. Appears incompatible with Galaxy S7. Used to semi work on my S5, fails now. Appears to be abondonware. Was the promised Apple version ever released?
Says "unfortunately, media control has stopped" every time I try to open it.
Good app for the oppo 9x models, but doesn't work anymore with Android Marshmallow upgrade. Now I can't control anymore the device from my Android phone.
Do not work at all
For me, the app has all the right features, however it's the execution that lets it down. While everything usually starts up OK, the app becomes less and less stable over prolonged listening sessions. If my phone's been asleep for a few tracks, the app will often crash when I try to access it again. Sometimes the skip and pause functionality becomes unresponsive. I also have Cambridge Audio Stream Magic, and Denon Heos Link network players in my house (all connected via hardwired gigabit Ethernet), and both the control apps for these devices are far more stable and user friendly. It's such a shame as the Oppo hardware, build and sound quality are truly excellent. Unfortunately, more often than not I find myself using my other players simply because their control apps are so much more stable.
Good app. I would like to offer the following suggestions: 1. Return to proper place in lists. When you are scrolling in a particular list (album list, etc) and you open a specific sub-list (say an album) when you return to the main list the app should return you to the point in the main list that you were just at, and not back to the beginning of the list. Please change this. 2. More caching. The app can be slow at times. 3. Tablet support. You should rescale graphics and the list elements when the app is running on a tablet (7” or 10” form factor). On a tablet form factor the buttons are unnecessarily small and a lot of space is wasted. 4. Alphabetizing does not work well. Album lists (and others) are not alphabetized correctly. For example, albums with the tiles “The Greatest Hits” or “The Best of” are both placed under “T”. 5. Playlist construction. It would be nice to have the option of creating and saving playlists from within the app. 6. Cover art. Add the option to locally cache (on the android device) and display cover art. This would be a great addition if it could be done without slowing down the app too much.
Would love to get this working on new phone as I won't be buying another physical media player again.
Everything is working flawlessly on my HTC One M8 again! Yayyy!!!
On a Nexus 6P with Android 6.0.1 the app crashes when it detects my Oppo BDP-95.
Works nicely on my cr@p old android. Could wish for better interaction with Pandora radio, so I don't have to turn on the projector to see what is playing. Other than that, it works for me
This has stopped working since I updated the firmware on my 93. I haven't used it much but I'm sure it was fine before. The remote part is OK, but not media side. UPDATE latest version just crashes on Lollipop. Opens and starts scanning for devices then closes. UPDATE 2 Actually works quite well now!
Once brilliant app just doesn't work anymore. Crashes continuously. Useless. I paid £1000 for my excellent player but Oppo just font want to know about their older stuff and said so in an email to me!!!!
My Oppo is connected to my LAN. My lan includes a server with all my music and videos. This app makes is extremely convenient to listen to my digital music collection w/o having to fire up the projector. Even for navigating pictures or home videos, using the app is quicker than the menu structure directly on the oppo. DNLA rocks and Oppo brings a fantastic way to leverage their great hardware (DACs) to enjoy your own content. Oppo just needs to add a way to have the same control, via Android/iOs for Pandora streaming. Even better, similar control for the whole streaming menu. It will be much easier to use a hand held to search, select and play nextflix content for example. Before this app came about, I was using the Remote App in my iOs devices to stream sound to my AppleTV. I avoided having to fire up the projector, but it required iTunes permanently running in the server or another computer. And the way apple needs you to manually add new content to the iTunes library is extremely primitive and a hassle. With a DNLA server, I just download the music, movies or pictures to the designated folders and it shows up in my DNLA clients within seconds.
Cant find the oppo. Not good
While it took a long time, OPPO finally fixed the crash on initial startup. Back to four stars.
It works great! Just hope the interface will show album cover arts in the next update.
Doesn't work with android lollipop. Really needed this app to work cause I have no monitor to hook up to my oppo. Depended on this app for controlling the network player on the oppo. Such a let down. I know oppo will update this app, but just wish they do it sooner rather than later. THANK YOU FOR THE LONG AWAITED UPDATE. NOW WORKS WITH ANDROID LOLLIPOP.

Does not work with android version 5.0.2. Oppo software version on player BDP9x-82-1009.
Sadly the app crashes after lollipop update. Hope the devs will fix it soon
Worked flawlessly on my HTC One M8 until last night. Phone was upgraded to Android 5.0.2 and now the app just crashes every time I try to open it. Will switch back to 5 stars once support is added for Lollipop.
Great apps
I hate you
bestt
Doesn't work at all since the most recent android "upgrade"
Crashes when searching for device on Android 5.0 (Lollipop).
Very poor app. For a company that makes such wonderful Bluray players this app is like a thorn in the flesh. 9 times out of 10 it can't even detect my player even through a 1.75 GBPS AC router.

Much more convenient, but I agree with everyone else that it would be great to have cover art. Thanks for the continued support.
It is exactly what I want.
Can't find my 93 while my Yamaha AVR works well. Test on S3 and Nexus10.
Updated to v1.0.6 and now it won't find my BDP-95 player. If you have a BDP-95, do not update to this version! This was a great app too.
It works.
A great first release - works brilliantly as it stands. Would be good to be able to create playlists and to return to the point in the folder list you left rather than going back to the start when browsing. Cover art would be nice too!
I installed this app turned on my Oppo and within 5 seconds it found my Oppo and I was playing music off of my network. This app words perfect. Like another reviewer said this app works faster than the remote that came with my Oppo.

This app is nowhere near as good as the hardware it controls. Klunky and not user friendly at all. Oppo should be ashamed to have released this software. I wanted to use my Oppo BDP93 as a network music player but it pales in comparison to the squeezebox. Horrible design with no settings. Playlist? Why what is that? It's about as crappy as the built in interface that Oppo has installed that you can access through your TV screen.
