OPPO BDP-10x MediaControl for Android
I prefer this app over the "remote control", but this can still be improved. Would be nice if you get some more feedback. For example to see if "pure" is on or off and other things you can see on the display on the device.
While it appears to have all the right features, this app simply doesn' thave the required stability to make prolonged listening sessions enjoyable, or even bearable. My whole house has Gigabit hardwired Ethernet, however after listening to app controlled music for more than half an hour on my BDP-105 (be it streaming from NAS, or TIDAL), the app becomes unusable, controls stop working, it doens't know what track is playing and needs to be reset. I have a Denon Heos and Cambridge Audio Stream Magic systems at home, and have also extensively used Sonos, and the Oppo MediaControl app doesn't even come close to these three in terms of stability and useability. It's very disappointing given how amazing the hardware is. I've tried to love my BDP-105 as an app controlled network music player, however I usually just end up frustrated with the clunkiness and put on a CD instead.
It works fine but still won't connect direct to computers on ethernet network only direct connected flash, hdd or ssd but this is fine so far. The remote itself works very well removing the need for a monitor or tv in an audio system if you use for music only.
Thanks for the update fix! Works perfectly on my tablet now. No better way to dig thru massive music files!
Doesn't always show "This Device" in the source list if the player is powered on before opening the app. So open the app, power on the player, then refresh the player list in the app. Other than that it offers some great capabilities for playing content from your tablet.
Compared to the awesome hardware. Guys, take some inspiration from Sonos
Great app.... my saviour when my $3000 rti remote loses connection...
When will you support new bdp-203 4k player?
Useless alike opposite mobile
Tidal but no Pandora in the control list
Tidak berfungsi di model f1s
No support for udp-203
Great app , oppo player functions realy easily
As with all things Oppo it works flawlessly!!!!!!!
God enough
Hangs often
Wow
Very good
Nice
The only player/app that will play whatever, and does that properly! Search of the media is normal, sorted by folders, and not by stupid type of media or by genre or similar like on many other android apps for other DLNA players. (Player finding is solely up to router settings. I had to find that my self...) But nonetheless, everything works as it should. "As advertised"! When app starts acting strange, just exit it and start it again! Everything will work! Horizontal orientation missing... waiting for it.
The app seems to inconsistently terminate communication with the Opp 105 . My mobile shows no media playing. The work arounds are : restart the app; restart the Oppo. The result in each the audio program plays only one or two items then stops. Very frustrating to use.
Capable of finding all my media sources. Most of the bad ratings of this app must be due to user error.
Updating this from yesterday because I figured out a setting that is probably affecting other people. You need to have the Wifi plugged into USB port 1 and go into network setup and change it to "quick start", this will show the device on your tablet and as soon as you tap it, it turns on. Some wrote that it does not have an eject button, mine does and works. I think 75% of the people who give it a low rating have something set up wrong...like I did yesterday. I am going from a 2 (my ignorance) to a 5!!
Despite the play store claiming the last update was months ago, the app looks different and has removed the manual connect option (which was the only way my setup will work. FIX THIS. FIX THIS. FIX THIS.
Since the last update it crashes immediately after starting (Android 5).
Crashes every single time I launch it. Galaxy Edge S7 / BDP105D
The renderer function is my most important feature and yet it is very very very flakey!
absolute jam go audiophile n movie junkie like myself........love it.mmnalso brilliant features
Does exactly what I need it to do. Thanks
Good but hangs occasionally

Just bought a Samsung tablet to use the app and like a lot of other people on here, it cannot find it. I updated my OPPO-105 firmware, so that is not the issue. But if I turn it on with the remote, then the tablet can find it. If this is the case, then what good is the app if I have to use the remote to turn it on. I've got an email into support and if the app cannot turn the unit on, I am taking the tablet bad...it serves no purpose. I'll give it a 2 until I hear back from support, otherwise it's a "1"
There seems to be a bug. When I started the app it said no players found. My Oppo was off so I turned it on and waited to get to the home screen. Then in the app I hit rescan. Still no players found. Oppo is connected by WiFi. Had to go into the Oppo player's network settings and get the IP address for the player and manually enter it into the app. My router is a Google OnHub TP-Link router. My phone is a Nexus 6P. Not a good experience at all.
Payed over a grand for a cd player and you cant make a simple app work? Wont connect to player on same network. After multiple re boots it connect....and then buffers forever. Awful....spent half an hour to hear one lousy song...now singing the blues

Why does the new version need to know my location? It would be nice if you would explain the reasons for it as well as the other permissions that are required. Don't think that is to much to ask for to go along with a top notch player and price paid to get it. Until that infomation is disclosed, I won't be updating. On a different note, the ability to cue up songs and create playlists would be very welcome.
I mainly use the app so I don't need the tv. I play a lot of HD audio via USB so the media control is straight forward for this. Only had occasional issues with the system locking up on playback or with Netflix but not the app itself.
Word great and so much faster than using the on screen interface.
After install, app guides you through the intro screens then crashes, and crashes at launch every time after that. Dell Venue 8 7840.

No Landscape support for anything - DUMB. The Interface is OLD - LAZY. Oppo loses itself on a Network all the time - major BUG. No Network Video Resume on DLNA - STUPID. Does not support M3U Playlists - RETARDED. Oh and updates are very few and far between with no real advancement - at all. Bottom line, the player is OK, the app is OK - really needs some serious updating of the firmware for Network issues, Massive interface overhaul is needed because it is so very outdated... I mean really, look at the interface - hello, 1985 is calling and they want their designer back!!! If you are thinking of this for your network music player, look elsewhere....
