Opera browser - news & search

Opera browser is great and is equipped with all the latest features, expected from a web browser! The AD BLOCK feature is quite commendable and works finely. Same can be said about Text Wrap which arranges the text on webpage according to screen size when user zoom in or out. The only feature missing from the Opera Mobile browser is lack of Night/Dark Mode, it is very necessary when it comes to surf the web during night. If OPERA add this feature, then I guess giving 5 Stars ???? to this app will not be an option but a sole duty of user!

A very nice and efficient browser I've been using for years. One major complaint: THERE'S NO CONFIRMATION DIALOGUE WITH THE "CLOSE ALL TABS" OPTION! :( It repeatedly happens that I close all tabs by accident and thereby loose tabs I wanted to return to! :( You have to occasionally clear history to reduce memory usage, and you can "reopen" only a few closed tabs. Thumbs up: switching between desktop and mobile user agent is now accessible immediately in the page menu. :)

Never crashed and opens pdfs like a charm. The best by far!! I only miss flash support and the possibility to specify a search engine. Edit: In the Dec 2017 version, Copy and Search does not respect the Desktop agent option and return searches in phone layout. Please fix this.

I still don't get why Opera Mini has more user friendly features than Opera Browser. I still think there should be an option to install all other speed dials at a go like in Opera Mini than having to import them one after the other. The option to delete a device from the other speed dials list would also be cool. And please make it possible to copy download urls so we can easily share, like it is done in Mini... Unless Mini is actually the better version. Now we can't scan a qr code to open sites. UNINSTALLING!

Awesome update. Working flawlessly. Even Ad-Blocker is also 100% accurate. Just a single issue I have encountered, while scrolling the navigation bar / url bar is appearing sometimes. And at last a request, kindly add Themes that will make the browser more colourful.

Speed dial is a great feature, copy and paste works good(unlike some other browsers like puffin and Chrome)Also the customizable news feeds is great. Speed of the browser is average,if OPERA had the speed of PUFFIN it would be the best browser ever. Sometimes when browsing random web sites I get the spam about my phone has a "Virus, click here to remedy the problem. The ad blocker works at times, just wish those" you have a virus" scams would be blocked.

Why did you ruin the speed dial page? Please allow the user to turn off the news feed on the speed dial page. It makes the app look extremely messy. Please don't follow the trend your competitors went. I'll be shopping for a new web browser. The Microsoft Edge for Android look really clean and the next potential suitor

I love the Opera browser on Android and I like how the new update looks, but I feel like performance and speed has been the cost of this upgrade. It takes longer for pages to 'finish' loading, as in the past half or third of page loading takes longer than before. This is quite disappointing.

Good, modern very fast browser with visible data saver. Boring layout, no news?!? But I find it doesn't save enough data! Needs to be bloat free, block data draining apps more! Less ads! Fast trendy efficient browser, good layout. But it eats too much expensive UK data! Prefer Opera mini, near perfect browser!

Works great! But when I'm login using my Google account then showing an error of fail so please fix it. And also extra news are showing if I'm interested in business and technology then I want to see only news related to those topics but not working

I've always been using Opera - it's a great niche browser. However, it does lack the function of saving webpages as a standalone html-file (instead of saving it within its own system) and doesn't have an option to save a webpage as a PDF-file.

Serioux RM X401 with android 4.2.2. Edit : Can you add a search for bookmarks saved trough Speed Dial ? Can a scrool bar be made ? Edit 2017 (last version) : Speed Dial with thumbnails doesen't work always ! It doesen't show bookmarks thumbnails saved on the main page. Opera must be closed, so the speed dial saved thumbnails can be seen again and not just a white page. Word magnification get stuck sometimes. I edited for more understanding.

Since the last update some pages are missing text. Certain pictures do not load either. The new UI is ugly. The speed dial icons are too small now. Please put things back to the way they used to work!

What the hell is wrong with you people. You open Opera and meet pornography in the front page disguised as News. I was with my 9 year old daughter when I opened this filthy app. You know what? Shove it where the sun don't shine. Never again.

1 star for the HIGHLY ANNOYING address bar that is always moving around as you scroll with ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to turn off. Somebody must have been off their meds that day to sign off on that. Give me a way to lock it in place like the old days and I'll give you more stars. Not impressed.

I love Opera but the latest update came with ads between the news! the worst thing is that they show nudity etc. pls remove these ads! I'm so angry man you are even writing "with built-in ad blocker" lol your are the admaker wassup

Great app but only 1 problem. The newsfeed has old articals some which are a couple of days old. This is annoying. Otherwise, no problems at all. Update - 11 December 2017...With the latest update there are so many ads, after every 3rd artical there is an advert. This is really annoying.

By far the best browser for Android. Pages load exceptionally smoothly and fast. Speed dial feature is outstanding. A one touch bookmarks shortcut would be useful. Strangely, there is no audio present when playing videos, while on Chrome and Adblock on the same device I don't have a problem.

What have you done to speed dial ? Please make the icons larger, so they fill the screen like before the update. After using the latest version for a few days I can now say you have ruined it.It's slow and buggy.Put it back as it was please send

plz disable 'pull down to refresh'... many a times while scrolling down the pages get refreshed accidently.. this is irritating when accessing bank websites as refreshes and back/forward buttons are Disabled on Banking Websites

Please bring back the home button on viewing page. I too am experiencing the vanishing of words when i switch tabs. I must zoom out and bac in to make them reappear. Also crashes more often than the previous version. Please fix.

Does not cut off Yandex.Direct ads. I wouldn’t mind them, but recently these bastards began to use animation. Text ads with still pictures are ok. Ads with any kind of animation (gif, or javascript-, HTML-based, video) are unacceptable. They must be cut off as spam.

The updated speed dial page is terrible. The icons are Way Too Small. Also I do not like having news highlights cramed in at bottom of page. We should have an option to change the size of icons and move news highlights to a different page. Also the tabs at top of page keep disappearing. It has also crashed 2 or 3 times and I just updated it yesterday. The previous version was Much Better. As the saying goes if it ain't broke don't fix it.

The latest update is poor. The pages take a very long time to load. Majority of the pages don't load anymore and it's doesn't give you feedback on whether it's network or not. The previous version is far better. I'm using infinix note 2 x600 I'm very disappointed. After the latest update, I'm so sad I can't use my favorite browser again

Overall good browser I almost always use this browser and like for the most part the "for you" section except when I su no moor articles from this source, they keep appearing. So gosh darn frustrating.

ZERO STARS! ZERO STARS! ZERO STARS! ZERO STARS! ZERO STARS! ***Latest update: Desktop view doesn't work at all!! DOWNGRADING!!! (but can't!) Goodbye browser of over a year. With latest update, "User Agent" set as "DESKTOP" no longer works unless I switch to MOBILE then back to DESKTOP. But then it stops working again if I close the app. I will have to switch to another browser app!!!

This was the best browser out there and I've been running it for two years. Then, for whatever inexplicable reason, you made the speed dial 5 columns. The icons are now so small you need reading glasses to recognize them, and most you can't even name without abbreviation. Just changing something to change something isn't necessarily good .....looking for another browser

Actually I never gave 5 stars to any browsers , but today I'm giving 5 starts to Opera Browser. Its nice, amazing , superb adblocker and fast browsing. Only needed to improve download manager. And make some change in look something like fancy more beautiful.

The last update messed up big time. After taking forever to load pages, it simply comes up black screen for most pages. Please fix it, it's my default browser and deserves 5 stars.

The new update is horrible. Speed dial and news are now combined into 1 page instead of being seperate. The pages are all very small and hard to read anything. Whenever you open a new tab you have an annoying popup telling you to switch tabs. Do not like it at all how do i get the older version back?

Very bad!!! ●Now, It is update, and add a "desktop site key" on settings, become annoyed! because I must click it every time, the web just transfer to desktop site!!! Very poor!! Please recover before edition!!! It can surfing net in desktop site all time!!! If your corporation can't update this problem, I will be change browser to others !!! It crashes sometimes and doesn't load web pages correctly when I use my phone's back button to go back to a previous page. But it's still better than the chrome BS you deal with.

Opera was a fantastic browser until the most recent update. I really don't like that the news tab was combined with the speed dial, and now seems absolutely indundated with clickbait ads. Got so bad that I turned off homepage news entirely. This is disappointing, but the browsing experience is still great.

Used Opera for years, it has been the best browser on mobile bar none.....until this update in December. Constant freezes and app crashes, sometimes so bad I have to restart my phone (Galaxy S7). You have properly messed this browser up you bunch of muppets.

Opera has always been a fav to use until recently with the most recent update. Since the latest update the browser has been hanging and crashing constantly, particularly when opened from twitter/g-mail or any other apps and I have to force stop opera in order to relaunch it. It has become highly unstable and not a pleasant experience. And submitting a report as well as contacting them on twitter has been useless as there was no repky nor help whatsoever! I have resort to uninstall it and currently re-d/l it to see if it makes any difference. Pending that, giving this new update a 2 star and I'm being generous.

When I shift from one tab to another, why the hell does it refresh and reload automatically even when whatever the webpage I had opened on it had been loaded completely? This is frustrating and I don't see the reason behind refreshing a webpage again and again that has already been fully downloaded. I lose time in waiting for it to load again unnecessarily, and it doesn't even save my previous position on the page, so I have to scroll through all of it again. Very frustrating ????

Still came with the same good features. But some drawbacks are just causing inconvenience. Such as no more navigation arrow buttons (back and forward) in Tablet Mode layout. And also the tabs don't show up whenever I want to change tab, which usually appeared by just a little bit scrolling down the screen in previous version. Please fix this.

Was a good app til the last update. Now it freezes and freezes my phone. I will probably end up uninstalling it. When will companies leave good apps alone as they are when they are working okay?! Don't fix what doesn't need fixing in future!

Got tired of the feed on the newer updates. Browser works OK but why do I need these lousy feed articles especially with curse words in the headlines? Really? Why is that necessary? I don't need that kind of junk on my feed.

With every update Opera always messes up something, the browser constantly stops responding now and now it wants me to install Facebook messenger when it didn't need it before! Can't the development team just leave things alone for a change? (Uninstalled)
